      Before WW1, Italy was part of the central powers. However, Italy and Austria-Hungary had a "hiccup" due to ethnically Italian lands, so when WW1 broke out, Italy stayed neutral. Despite this, Italy was planning to join the central powers, but the entente offered Italy the land they wanted from Austria-Hungary if Italy joined the entente and they won the war, which made Italy switch sides.

    Historically, Italy was in the central powers, but they said it was a defensive alliance only, and since they wanted land from Austria-Hungary, they betrayed the central powers, opening a new front, which in my opinion made the central powers lose the war.

    • @andrearolleri3631

      No it wasn't betrayal, first it was a defensive alliance and it was Austria that decided war, so making it an offensive war.
      Second : there was an agreement that if Austria or Italy took lands in the Balkans, it had to to give land in competition to the other nation, so when Austria refused to give land to Italy it was Austria that broke the alliance terms, not Italy

    10:50 definitely, Italy was big enough to put a lot of pressure in the Alps with France, and they would have probably saved the Ottomans from the British and the Serbo-Greeks. The Central Powers would over-all have a lot more men to put on the fronts.

    Drew, the Australians were researching the neutrality focus when you checked on their tech tree, so I have to assume that the reason they weren't invading German New Guinea was because they weren't in the war.

    just want to mention. ottoman empire was shit during ww1 just like austro hungary and italy. germany was literally alone in war.
    just for you to picture it. ottoman empire lost almost whole army near egypt near suez(i think) canal because they were marching on egypt. ottoman leader was some son of some big guy who didnt know shit and didnt know about planes so egyptian army saw prepared and defeated them with more than 1 to 10 ratio. austro hungary managed to hold line BARELY so yeah

    @mrjaman3752 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A History Class for Drew, The Balkan League was Created To take the ethnic areas of the Balkans in the Ottoman Empire, the borders if they changed, it is called the first Balkan War, then the Antubulga League was created, as I declare Bulgaria the Serbian war to take Macedonia, which at that time was mostly Bulgarian, sip bulgaria obviously lost the second war of the Balkans, then, Japan sent an ultimatum to Germany to give him all its colonies in Oceania, Germany obviously rejected it and Japan declared war on Germany, then the United Kingdom saw opportunity to take the German colonies in Africa, since Portugal had borders with them, and convinced Portugal to enter the war on the side of the Entente. The only non-historical was that Italy enter the central powers, because in fact in 1915 Italy declared war on the central powers.

  • @the_nebula8572
