- Hello! Today I try out some of the cheapest brush markers on the market. Will they work? Are they any good? Let's find out!

Is it just me or traditional artist sketch their thumbnail digitally and digital artist sketch their thumbnail traditionally?! 🤔
You're not wrong ! I do both equally and tend to prefer sketching in the opposite medium for control reasons. If I'm going to paint digitally, thumbnailing on paper keeps me from getting too distracted by brush options right away. But for traditional works, I want to reduce material waste as much as possible so I turn to digital, where I can mess up as much as I like.
I think it's a refinement thing. It is for me, anyway. Working traditionally, I don't get super bogged down in details and getting everything exactly right, so it makes for a great first draft sketch, thumbnailing or just getting all the elements I want on the page. Then in digital it's a lot easier to refine that sketch into something cleaner, whether I'm drawing on top or just cleaning up the scanned sketch and then adding further detail. If I want the clean sketch for working traditionally then I'll print it off and continue as usual, if I want to continue digitally I'll move on to lining and colouring. I think it's just a matter of different strengths in different mediums.
Plus as far as filming goes, I bet it's easier to record the sketching process digitally, sketching digitally tends to result in a lot of messing around and erasing and mess.

I always like the sketching. I'm exited about the brush markers. I can't draw right now, my right arm is down due to a stroke last year but I have been using the Ohuhu Markers with my left hand and doing abstract art. Mainly doing swatches but doing them artistically. It's not the greatest in the world but it was driving me crazy not using my art supplies. I've been drawing since I was 5 years old and missed it. Hopefully I'll get my 'gift' back with my right hand or at least draw better with my left. I love the holiday witch.

My dad ordered the 48 set for me but I live in australia so they are more expensive. America sells them for $35 (50 aud) but we have to pay 70 aud so that sux
@@marianikolajevic3989 yeah, it's the same here. The 48 set costs about 60 aud or 37 euro. I guess it's almost the same in all countries outside the US. And the 72 set was around 112 aud or 70 euro. So the price per marker is almost 1 euro in the big set. 🤔 but I really enjoy the markers 😊

Hey, if you used your markers soon after you received them by the mail, they might have leaked after being transported on a plane. I heard that there is such a problem, and it is necessary to let them lie down horizontally for a few days.

I love my Ohuhu brush markers. I stayed up late the night they first came out and bought 2 sets. I’m dying to get the bigger set. I just can’t afford them quite yet. They are amazing for the price! I actually like them better than my Copics except for the fact that they don’t have enough light colors. I just buy the really pale colors from Copic and use the Ohuhu for everything else.
Interesting, they didn't have the blender in the set when I reviewed it back in the summer. I really do love Ohuhu's markers. I've heard they're considering ink refills and/or open stock individuals markers, which would be awesome.
Oh my god I really hope they start selling refills. I am an eco freak so I'm always looking for anything even slightly more sustainable. I know that like alcohol markers are probably never going to be completely sustainable but I absolutely love them. I was going to start switching to copics as my ohuhus ran out of ink but I love Ohuhu so much I'd love to keep supporting them instead.
Not surprised... i just wrote that too. They seem like a company that really takes their customer's opinions into consideration and they seem to often make changes to suit that. I'm still waiting for my first set of ohuhus but I'll be hanging onto my empty markers for when they start making refills which I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with this year even.
When I first got the set it also came with a hard plastic sheet not the newer flexible one
They just started releasing individual markers! I think there's twelve right now :D

By the way, I'm giving other artists talking about markers a heads up- TH-cam is deleting (not spam, just deleting) every commend that comes in on some channel's videos with the word "bvllet" (when spelled with a u) because it the word is usually associated with violence. You might see comments disappearing because of it.

Personally i find watching the lineart stage super satisfying, i think its my favorite part of some videos tbh, but i get how its kinda the same thing as the sketch. Also love this adorable witchy santa, such a fun idea!

You can always just use a random piece of paper (Maybe a failed drawing you dont want to keep) and it will work just as fine, or tape plastic wrap under it
I know I'm late, but if you're ever missing something in a set from them or have a bad/damaged marker, contact their customer service. They apparently have great customer service and will try to make things right.
To me it seemed like she was bottling up Christmas Spirit, but liquid sunshine works too! Glad your new markers are working out for you! As a side note, if a favorite ohuhu marker dries out you could then replace that color with a copic and build up your “artist set” slowly. Then you’d know which colors were your favorites too!

I decided to try a brand new artist loft marker right in Michael's and it frayed almost immediately!
KittyCatChey artist loft are no good! Ohuhu is good but the ink bleeds over time more than Copics.

I personally prefer markers without brush nibs. Brush nibs are really great for coloring hair, but other than that I prefer chisel. Chisel tip is way easier to control, and sometimes even makes smoother blends than a brush tip. Also quick edit: my favorite process is the coloring, I just love to see my picture come to life! 😄
I also prefer chisel nibs, you can easily experiment with 'textures'

On Ohuhu's website you can now buy a few of their markers individually and they are working on making refills available. You can also make requests for specific colors too, though I dont know how long it takes for them to reapond.

They are cheap because it's cheap to produce alcohol ink in general. Copies are overpriced

They have been coming with more pastel colors so they are listening! They also have recently released a skin tone set! So smaller special sets could become a thing in the near future!

These Ohuhu Marker looks a little like my style file marker :). These markers are also nice.If you find them in your art store, you should try it 🤗.

replicanna I really love them. I think, they blend sometimes better than the shinhan art twin touch marker, which I used. Also I really didn’t try the winsor&newton marker, so I can‘t really give my experience. But I tried ShinHan Art marker and Molotow Marker.The stylefile have also color refills and you can change the nibs,which is a huge benefit, for a cheaper alternative for copics.

I love your videos so much and im also an artist but i am only 12 i do all types of drawing from illustration to cartoon realism to realism, I also posted some of my art on my channel. They have recently started selling individual marker replacements. Right now there's only a few colors available, their most requested colors, but it's a start.
The brush nib is the most satisfying part of the marker. As a matter of fact, its the juciest.

DarjeelingJelly I have some markers from that company and I have some copics. I’ve had my artist loft since summer and my copics since last winter/Christmas. The artist loft brush nibs fray so quickly and lose color super easily.
My tip kinda got moldy but still work so idc
Oh Nice to hear that they came to Europe now ! I’m always in doubt about spending more money on alcohol based markers. I like all the art videos on TH-cam and art on Instagram but I really suck at making my own art with that kind of markers😪

I adore my Ohuhu markers, I have the same set you used here. I was thinking about slowly transitioning to Copic markers as my Ohuhu markers run out of ink, because of the environmental factors. I agree that it is incredibly wasteful that they don't sell refills. Someone else commented that they are planning on doing that in the future? I really hope they do. Copics are just so darn expensive, and I'll have a hard time trying to match the colors if I have to switch to a whole different brand.
at first my ohuhu when they were out of ink i usually refill theme with copic ink it give even moree good colors and the unk worth the price of a copic marker which is better u can refill it alot of times and when my highliter has been out of ink i decided to reliff it with some alchole and It turned to a colorless blendres now i have a huge colletion of ink hehe also check ohuhuart instagrame they post the new updates and tips :)
At the end, on the discount sheet on the back is a faq and apparently if a marker runs out of ink then you can email their customer support and get a free replacement
They came out with a 200 set and I'm getting it for Christmas 😍 I can't wait and I never really had problems with chisel tips so not having a brush nib is fine

Great review, I'm really interested in trying the Ohuhu markers after seeing so many artists seem to get along really well with them! Personally the part of the art process I like best is the inking/linework, and I often leave my art uncoloured for this reason, but trying to challenge myself to work in full colour more often and hopefully one day that will be part of drawing that I really enjoy as well!

They don’t deliver to where I live, it says it’s against a law for alcohol based markers to be sold and shipped to where I live but other alcohol based markers for example copics are available :( so I bought some unknown brand called vallenteng, let’s hope for the best haha

I always wondered why my ohuhu markers looked a lot different on paper verses other artists, just realized it was the tip, didn’t realize there was different tips and now im sad lol

They work really great. I just got them too. That plastic sheet will not absorb the marker so a piece of paper is better I think.

It's a shame that the Ohuhu markers aren't refillable.
They don't sell refills but I've seen folks refill cheap markers with Copic refills. That's my plan for my ohuhu markers.
Nice work. The flames could use some sort of smoke or highlights at the very center; the flames seem a bit 'dark' (the yellow 'glow' around the outside is messing with my brain though...making the flames look 'backwards' or something). :)

Hi Kattvalk or any artist out there that can suggest some really nice cheap easy to use ie not scratchy and not alcohol based and or any other toxic lethal chemicals in them some felt pens, markers, brush pens that I really love at moment have limited colours and or I'm bored with them I'm using Berol brush pens but it's only 12 colours I want to experiment. I did buy Sharpie on special offer unfortunately I'm not totally convinced some really nice vibrant colours not to over powering to point they hurt your eyes but jeese they don't half stink the smell chokes me I'm asthmatic and prone to frequent Bronchitis bouts so I have to have non toxic pens be nice even in some kids art materials the stuff that's in them is totally mind boggling not just art stuff especially when they click bait you with lables saying non toxic child friendly which in some kids items is absolute lie as very clearly they aren't.
Things aren't made or designed like old days after few uses they dry up, don't work very well or just simply fall apart making you feel like you have been well and truly spammed I've still got paints and other mediums from decades ago that are still totally or partially usable although my Peblo paints are starting to go mouldy. I improvise when it comes to inks I use food colouring very very messy but awesome fun but I just don't have the lungs to blow paint or finger strength to flick paint anymore I do try I'm fiesty stubborn determined young madam. I'm basically asking what's best ones out there at moment I'm experimenting with children's Faber Castell food colouring pens so far since I got them just before Christmas out several uses 3 no longer useable other 8 are little iffy as I got them horrendously cheap I'm not bothered they have kicked bucket that's how I get so many things cheap I register with online shops regular newsletter as brand new customer you get one of voucher nower days some places are rather stingy times have sadly changed after that they email you what's new, if any vouchers to use etc etc. In UK there's a shop called The Works last I seen was more you spend the bigger discount 10% of £10 20% £15 30% of £25 spent free delivery safer twenty pounds spent other places it is double or more than this it changes regularly so don't take this at face value
but even they have changed over the decades there's also ebay in search engine type craft bundle then click ending soon before clicking least price and postage I get some cracking deals. Finally before my arthritic wrist and hand spasms being artist takes imagination, inventive and creative abilities just about anything and everything around house can be used from kitty litter tray for marble art to storing anything below A4 size as that's how big some slightly bigger, pegs and garden twine to hang work up and mediums etc etc, tooth picks, combs, toothbrushes, small pots, Pringles, paper towel and loo roll tubes make great storage, money boxes etc, plastic 2ml, 5ml syringes and pippets great for squirting inks, paints even water etc, back of wallpaper or wallpaper liner various grades great for painting, drawing etc, wash bags with various compartments make great storage for art materials and or first aid kit etc, hair spray to set chalk/pastel work and jumbo size plastic straws not just for art but also first aid use to squirt paint, creams, cotton wool, matches, toothpicks, toothpaste, and cotton buds etc leave inch or inch half gap either end seal both ends with lighter or other gentle flame so light and easy to take out with you just let the imagination run away with oneself how do you know it's a flop if you haven't already tried it once you have and it does turn into a flop then and only then say it's flop. Happy crafting fellow artists have lots fun scour your charity and pound shops don't just head to areas specific to item your getting checking everything out let the imagination take you to new places you haven't been before it's so much fun looking at items thinking oh what can I do with you good luck
You are so talented! Cute Holiday witch and scene. I've always had a fondness for witches. As far as the markers go, can you give your "not favs" ones away? Because their markers are so affordable, it probably doesn't pay for them to sell individually.
Are 48 markers enough for a beginner? I am 11 years old and I want brush and chisel markers I am kind of new to art but I love to draw anime characters and I am satisfied with it so any are 48 enough for drawing anime characters although my parents won't like my to buy this. This is very very expensive but I have collected money that my relatives gave me on a festival I have 30.15 dollars and these are of 30.52 so just 50 cents more but no one will allow me to buy these fantastic markers everyone will get super mad at me

Hey so I really really want to see you treating out Rose art crayons, THE worst crayons I have ever tried, you get more pigment out of drawing with a straight up candle, they were so hard!! I rmemeber pressing on them until they broke in two just to get color payout. I don't know if they have changed the formula at all

I already have the 48 set of markers and when it says you can flip the tip and get a new brush tip, I don't know if they were lying or if im just really weak but when I tried doing it I ended up ruining my brush tip more AND it didn't even come out so I don't recommend doing this

Is Artistloft the same as Hobbycraft? I just got a set of their brush markers ( water based not alcohol) for my birthday and now kinda worried how their brush tips will hold up
