Dr Mags Portman on living with mesothelioma and the importance of research.

UPDATE: Tragically, Mags Portman died in February 2019. Mags was a true inspiration, committed to research and finding better treatments even if, as she herself said, she wouldn't be able to 'ride the crest of the wave.'
Dr Mags Portman was a specialist in HIV and sexual health. She also had the asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma. In this video she talks about the importance of investment in research and clinical trials to develop treatments for cancer. #ResearchChangesLives

RIP Mags. I have some very fond memories of you that we shared at primary school. Always smiling and laughing and genuinely a lovely lovely girl. It's been well over 20yrs since we last had any contact, it was great but no suprise to find out you had done so well in life. So so sorry to all your family and friends, you will be a massive loss to so many xxx
