Kouvola gave us her best on this pretty summer day. We visited the quiet main walking promenade as well as the industrial outdoor museum and Kouvola old military housing area of Kasarminmäki, which is nowadays a business park and the campus for South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.
True. Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder. The town is populated with 1960 old worker housing units and the concrete brutalism is present. Kouvola however is also full of significant logistics & railroad heritage as well as beautiful nature, you just have to keep your eyes open for it.
