Hey MAJ! I really enjoyed your video and the music that Kengo chose is fantastic. 🎶 Could you please consider adding a tracklist with a timestamps in the video description? This not only enhances the viewing experience but also enables features like TH-cam chapter functionality, making it convenient for viewers to navigate through the video and enjoy their favorite tracks. Moreover, adding a tracklist with a timestamps in the video description benefits music enthusiasts who use browser extensions like Web Scrobbler, as it allows them to accurately log and share their listening habits on platforms like lastfm. Thanks for the great content, and looking forward to more amazing videos! 👍
I am currently teaching myself Spanish and I listen to Spanish music often so I can get used to speaking the language in any situation. This is a great way to support your son as a parent. Also, side note, I spent a significant amount of time in South Korea. Because of this, I have become enamored with eastern Asian cultures and language. My wife will often ask me what language is being spoken or written, and I am generally close to 70% right. Each language is incredibly distinct from another, that if you pay attention enough, it would be no different from you hearing German vs Spanish.
@@geoffreyzziwambazza7862 That is awesome! Yes when he was little I often played music in any language I could find plus cartoons would be shown in Spanish, French, Chinese, etc. I only was doing it for fun and the desire for him to feel a familiarity worldwide. He ended up developing an incredible vocabulary at a young age and now as a teenager is thinking of majoring in Linguistics! He is baffled how most people can not distinguish the differences between Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and so forth. I have often had to give him the reality check that most are only exposed to a limited amount of foreign dialect.
I love exploring Japanese music! Thank you for this. To think this music is only 30 odd years separated from WW2; Japan truly evolved with incredible pace post war
Yes Kengo! One of my favourite DJs who can play any genre at any event. Also a wonderful & down-to-earth human-being to be around. Nice to see him on a great channel like MAJ.
One day you can support - in the meantime, comments and likes go a long way. Can also share video links with friends/family - the algorithm listens to that too.
@@wolfgang757 Japan had a lot of independent artists as in lot... Japan wasn't fond of promoting their artists overseas in the past and even now Japan still maintains this isolated mindset but at least Japan is trying to open up
So sad about the copyright issue. I've listened to this several times and really fell in love with the song Anata Dake no mono. Now it's stuck in my mind and I can't find it anywhere. Ughhh. It's true when they say enjoy what's in front of you as if it's your last time.
I found the song at th-cam.com/video/Gj3LK_ooMJs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yk7ZrXW3quFyC69o . This is a recording of an NHK radio broadcast of a Yumi Arai 1976 concert. “Anata dake no mono” is the second song in the set at 6:52. I don’t know who owns the rights to Ms. Arai’s songs (she or her record company?), the exact circumstances behind her song’s removal from DJ Kengo’s playlist, or if the person posting the concert had the authority to do so. So, I recommend listening to the song (and the rest of the concert) ASAP in case it gets taken down soon. The song is indeed catchy, and the rest of the concert is delightful as well. Hopefully, I come across Ms. Arai’s work in my local record shop: I would gladly purchase it (I already got lucky finding some of Akiko Yano’s work here in the U.S.; it was apparently recently re-issued). ☮️ EDIT: I just waned to add that since her marriage in 1976, she is known as Yumi Matsutoya. She also has a well known nickname: Yūmin.
This was an amazing experience! My TH-cam rabbit hole journey somehow led me here, and I was not disappointed. Kengo, thank you for sharing this history. @MyAnalogJournal, I can't wait to surf your catalog. 😍
I've listened to this many times now. Not only are the songs excellent but there is also a real progression. Every time I feel like I'm taken on a journey.
Wow! I never knew there was Japanese soul music in the 70’s. My first time hearing this and I am in love! Thank you so much for sharing. Love from USA, New York City!🙏💜💜💜
Damn! This is lit!!! I was hoping that someday such video will pop up and I will be able to start discovering more of this ''light mellow'' genre. It's hard to find new japanese music if not living in Japan. けんごさん!紹介してくれてありがとうございます! Cheers guys :D

"Lupin the Third, Part II" is one of my favorite old-school animes, and many of the tracks in this set remind me of the series's soundtrack.
