something about you is so comforting and mesmerizing to watch! i dunno how you make a 20 minute video feel like 5 minutes of good energy. seriously thank you for these videos! ♥
My grandma was from Paraguay and she used to do a broth with a lot of things too called vorí vorí. It was one of my favourite meals growing up. Some time after she passed away, I wanted to try and make vorí vorí for myself. I did and it was not perfect but was still amazing, it brought tears to my eyes remembering the good old days with my granny. So glad you feel connected to your culture too. ♥
It’s really good to see someone speak about their culture and experiences with such passion and love! Felt like a genuinely enjoyable moment to hear what you had to say about the food and Vietnam in general!
How you were describing Vietnamese cuisine and watching your family make it hits home for me. I feel the same way about Korean cuisine and seeing my mom make it just like how your family does it. Its really cool but, I'm also intimidated about making it lol!
I was so close to visiting Vietnam and Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. ☹That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan and visit South Eastern Asia. Great video.
im not Vietnamese but my bf is and for some reason watching this video made me want to learn the language and also learn how to make pho. I just recently started watching your videos and I am a new subscriber, but I love you already. Never stop spreading the love and positivity you have!💕
Good job. Nothing better than learning a few dishes from your culture. It brings so much joy. Keep perfecting your broth. Like your mom said, it will get better and better.
you're my favourite human being in the world and my mom never taught me how to make pho so ima have to pull up an online recipe and try to make it just so the culture doesnt die with me
I was just having this thought with making oxtail for myself. It seems so intimidating to me because I have such strong feelings about the warmth and comfort my family's oxtail and rice, or chicken foot soup, and I WAAAANT it so bad, but they're so far away. This has really inspired me to revisit making some of those hard-to-approach dishes. The only thing we can do is try, and get better.
Your channel was in my suggested and girl. I absolutely LOVE your channel! I see the hard work/creativity in your edits and find the flow so comforting to watch. Also you’re so beautiful! Wishing you nothing but more success for your channel and in life ❤️
I was waiting for the bad pho jokes im so glad you came through 😅but I loved the attention to detail for the whole experience, felt like I was waiting on the sidelines for a bowl too!
I was in Vietnam visiting family this past December and it really inspired me to try cooking more Vietnamese food. Pho is on the list but it’s always been so intimidating to me! I have to try it now though!
I found this account like 3 days ago and I watched almost all of your videos- I’m half Vietnamese and thanks to you and other people I’m learning to love my Vietnamese heritage- as I used to want to be Japanese or Korean because it’s « cool and popular » but now I’m very happy to be Vietnamese hehe You’re now in my top 5 of favorite TH-camrs. You’re pretty, honest, strong, productive and even more but I cannot say everything. Keep it up Tâm, ily 🌟🤍✨
First time watching you. good energy. thanks for the addresses to the places! :) and i enjoyed the captions/annotations throughout the video. would you mind sharing the google maps links lol for the places? I am having trouble searching for the addresses :P
Definitely try charing your aromatics-onions and ginger and spices-star anise, cardamom, fennel seeds, and cinnamon on a pan until fragrant and some specifically* yellow rock sugar (:
My husband is Japanese Canadian. So we make Japanese food and my sister-in-law(my brother-in-law and sister-in-law live with us) is from the Philippines so we have a lot of that. And of course, I make food that's very .... Fun? lol, but I do some Chinese food too. We try a lot of different foods. But we are a very Asian Canadian house. Even if I'm the odd one out not being Asian myself. We cook what we like and when we find good food at a restaurant we want to recreate it the best we can. So my takeaway is maybe I should figure out how to make pho. Because pho is yummy
Pho looks so good! Next time, you should char the onion & ginger before adding it to the broth. Adding aromatics (like 5-spice and star anaise) is going to bring it to the next level :)
I force my husband to watch this bc I love your vlogs but I lowkey think he thinks I’m mocking him bc he also happens to be Vietnamese and it’s a source of tension but I genuinely love your vlogs! I look forward to these every time
Really wish I could go to these places but they don't pop up on google maps. Maybe you can create a store listing from them on the map so people can bookmark and visit? :)
What do you do for a living to afford your lifestyle? I'm sure a lot of viewers are curious as well (if it's not known yet) as this makes the lifestyle desirable.
Hi, I'm new to your channel and theres something about you that when I watch you, it feels very comforting and warm. I'm technically Chinese American but culturally, I grew up in a household of a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese culture/cuisine. I identify more with my Vietnamese roots, especially since my parents grew up in Vietnam. I've been to Vietnam a few times and it feels like I'm at home. At night, the lights and the sounds all make Vietnam feel very romantic to me. I've been meaning to get into making pho, bun bo hue, bun rieu, and other Vietnamese simmered noodle soup dishes but honestly, I'm so scared to mess up. I love how supportive your mom is of you. EDIT: Also wanted to add that I noticed you used noodles closer to hu tieu noodles which are uusally wider. I know Vietnam typically uses these types of noodles in their pho. But, as a Cali boy, the pho noodles I'm used to are more narrow.
youre such a dream

New viewer and I agree with you! I love her energy
The end result looked pho-nomenal, and it’s great that your mom was on the pho-ne to help guide you through the process.
This video is sooo wholesome! I'm also amazed by how your uncle can drive while balancing an entire tray of foods on his arm. 😆💖
omg im craving pho now AHHHHHH
