Brutal is not a word you want in watch repairs. the spring arm that holds the battery in place is on the left side of the battery, push that spring arm to the left and the battery pops up and out. push the arm again to the left while inserting the new battery. Be careful to make sure the rubber case back gasket is inside its groove before screwing the case back on. Before you remove the case back, with a Sharpie make a mark from the case back to the case body to make sure you retighten the case back the same way Casio had it (it's really tight on there- not medium tight)
Victorinox advertises the pressed dial on the Inox as a feature. They say that there aren't any applied indices that can get knocked loose. So the MDV is using the same "technology" as a Victorinox Inox.
I know some people don’t like quartz but honestly from a functionality perspective it’s 100% better than a mechanical watch. More accurate, durable, and maintainable. Mechanical you need it serviced. Quartz you change the battery. Cheaper. If something breaks on a quartz, although it’s probably cheaper to get a new watch, you probably can still service it with the know how

I tried doing a similar change a while back but I've learnt to be a lot more careful doing this after I accidentally scratched that solenoid and killed the watch.
Can u still use it diving tho?Since shops don’t guarantee water resistance after getting the battery replaced could I still go diving with it if I did it myself.Great vid btw
That is a very good question. I think it would be best to take it to a jeweler that specializes in diver's watches or call and ask them about it, if not have them replace the battery and raise the issue of pressurization with them.
would have been a good opportunity to apply a light film of clear silicone grease to that O-ring to ensure a good seal and make snugging it down go smoother as well.

My Duro appears to have applied indices unlike how yours looks inside. I can see the steel legs attached to the back of the indices while replacing the battery. Seems odd that some have applied and some have pressed.
Looks like there is a tiny screw keeping the battery hold down tight. It looks like if you loosen that screw a little, it will be easier to get the new battery in. PS. I wonder if you should put some watch lube on the rubber water seal, to keep it waterproof? Same for putting some lube on the screw down crown threads.

Do you know if the battery contact is disconnected when the crown is pulled out? Or is the watch always draining power? In theory if it isn't drawing power, or less even, you could put it on "stand by" in a way to conserve battery while wearing other watches.
For reference, this is a Miyota 2115-20A movement. Miyota's spec sheet says "Battery consumption could be minimum by pulling out the stem" and other sites say it has "battery saving hacking in the time setting mode". So whether fully disconnected or just reduced, the battery will keep for longer when the stem is pulled to the second extended position (time setting).
So I bricked mine today attempting to remove the crown in anticipation of installing tritium vials on the hands. Lost a screw, but ordered a new watch since theres no use crying over spilt milk. Do you know if it's possible to remove the crown stem in the first place? I prodded around for half an hour and couldn't find a release, and the rest of the internet had been no help. These batteries is silver oxide. They have a short shelf life. I am wondering what other quarts analogue movements Casio haves. I could pay a little more for a movement that is larger and have a 2016 or thicker battery.

BAD, BAD, BAD way to remove ANY watch battery! See that screw to the 8-o'clock position (below the coil) at 4:04? Yeah, you LOOSEN that and the left (to viewer) retention bar is open-capped and is lifted up from mid-point, bending slightly, to 'come free'...THEN you change the battery, slightly bend the bar back to place the 'Y' back under the screw head and tighten it! I know...and it is a SHORT screw, too! In fact, that's why I'm here...trying to find the size of this screw, so I can order a replacement...as it came free, it shot into SHAG CARPETING...and forget it...smaller than a microbe! (knowing HOW to replace it doesn't negate totally losing the screw that YOU NEVER want to take out)...

It's the long lever that runs alongside the copper coil. It has a small notch just next to the battery that can be used to move the lever slightly, thus releasing the battery. Much easier :) Also be careful with depth rating. The watch is marked WR 200 meters, basically this means it is good for shallow swimming at the most. To be able to dive deeper, the watch would have to be rated Divers 200 meters (ISO1425). Hope this helps.
Brother that little spring pulls back and battery will pop up ,reverse the process and it will just about full back in place.

the little hole on the spring bar is the hole for the tool to move it either side and pop out the battery.
Excellent point, not sure he has done this before, but for $5 I will let my local jewelry store do it for me and I won't risk damaging my watch.

You are applying unnecessary pressure on the movement because you are removing and replacing the battery in the opposite (wrong) direction

Well if he didn't use silicon grease on the back seal after the battery change it definitely is no longer waterproof.

My Marlin eats Batts. A new quality battery 🔋 every 14 - 16 months. Not sure why this happens.
Possibly lack of lubricant within the movement making the movement use more power to drive it.

It's the long lever that runs alongside the copper coil.
It has a small notch just next to the battery that can be used to move the lever slightly, thus releasing the battery.
Much easier :)
Also be careful with depth rating. The watch is marked WR 200 meters, basically this means it is good for shallow swimming at the most.
To be able to dive deeper, the watch would have to be rated Divers 200 meters (ISO1425).

Did anyone have any issues with water resistance after changing the battery? Thats what I'm worried about.
I suppose you have to be careful that fastening back up you dont damage or shift the rubber O ring.
