  • The day has arrived! Michigan Central Station is just about ready to open to the public and today we’re getting our first look.

    I've been obsessed with Michigan Central Station for decades. I am so happy they restored this building, I wish they'd make it a train station again but using it as an innovation center will work. I'm sad all the guided tours are booked and I'll have to wait until later in the summer to go inside to see the restoration. I'm so proud of this restoration. ❤

    so beautiful love that they saved this place. Its also great that they have these people that do this kind of work Detroit is showing the world that you can come out of the ruins. It will bring so many tourist to the city.

    What an extraordinary accomplishment! Detroit once teemed with life and architectural charm. Arguably, it was one of the most beautiful cities in the US. Its horrific demise saddens me; however, a recent renaissance, of sorts, encourages me. These magnificent edifices make up a significant part of American history and culture, and Americans should preserve them as much as possible.

    I worked on that building for a year, there was absolutely nothing original left don't let them lie, it sure looks nice though

      @austin4220 it's recognized as a Historical Building, they are required to use the same materials that were originally used to build the train station when repairing it.
