My best mod on my 24 YZ250X is using the YZ450f trees and boring them out on my Mill to work with the YZ250 the 22.5mm offset made this bike faster then any other mod, yes faster I can drop into any turn with more speed and it just tracks like it's on rails. If anyone would like to run a set let me know..
Also run the Amsoil Dominator @ 32:1 and even @ 32:1 in the rocky slow ST of PA it still burns clean and no buildup and a clean pipe. I was going to switch to 40:1 but the 32:1 burns so well I'm going to stick with it..
Hi robert, nice vids! i recently bought a 2021 yz250x ...it came with a smart carb sc2. I cant seem to get the lower end of the rev range to smooth out unless the engine is under significant load ( climbing a hill ) you mentioned the flywheel weight as it relates to the timing and I was wondering if you can expand on the concept? would the weight add a bit of load to the engine in the lower rpm range?
@@SgtProstar Hello, So you may have to much gas going through the carb you can turn the screw on the top counter clockwise to make it leaner that’s should be a no problem. The flywheel is an excellent addition to gain extra torque and I think it’s charging the timing a bit as well for good. I would definitely get that in any type of riding. I actually can ride the bike when it’s idle with the gytr flywheel
I have got some great single track in ocala national forest if you want to get together and ride sometime. I see you are doing some of the ftr stuff, how do you like it?
@roberturmosi-dirtbike-atv when you got a new chain did you have to add links to the new chain to move the wheel all the way back ? Or was the new chain long enough because you normally have to cut a new chain to the right length ??

Switching to 40:1 over 32:1 will result in more rich condition than 32:1
@chadrides914 only if you jet for 40 but run 32...
If you jetted for 32:1 then you will be right at 14.7 : 1 or 12+ :1.
Beautiful bike! I really want to get a Smart carb as my first big mod.

This is an exciting build. I am sporting a 21 yz450fx. The power tuner is nice but I plan on trading for a nice yz250x.
That's interesting. I'm building a yz450fx to see how good can be, the series starts this weekend
How did you add a link to the chain?

Yeah we can try it out one day for sure. Not sure what FTR means sorry
Will probably be heading that way on Sunday morning. Going to be at delancy campground around 8. Florida trail riders hairs ramble series....ftr
@@john85allen There is a race going to be this weekend? I'm up in North Carolina until next week.
What is the oem chain?
I think is a DID chain the point is this chain is so narrow compared to everything I used before and the roll resistance...
