I just ordered replacements for these and the door gasket for the same machine. It's been rattling up a storm! Are there any 'Might as well while you're in there' kind of parts or common wear items I should also think about replacing? I'm not one to always just throw parts at things, but seeing how old this machine is, I'm assuming there would be some other thing worth replacing to keep it running well. Is there a way to determine that it is the shocks and something else? Like stability of the floor or stability and level or the machine? My Plastic shield is rattling up a storm. The boot was replaced under warranty a long time ago and rattling started after that point.
Thanks Scott, I would grab it and try rocking it back and forth. If it wobbles it may need one of the front feet lengthened to get rid of the wobble . You can put a level on top to make sure it is level.
Hey, thanks for the video! So are the replacement schecks better than what was in there? They seem to be a newer and maybe heaver shock. Also, I have that same model washer, and it needs a gasket and the shocks, in your opinion, is it worth fixing? Thanks!
Our drum is rattling all over. Sounds like somethings stuck inside the drum layer. Sure enough it’s a collapsed shock. Bits all over the bottom of the washer. Got the new ones just gotta find the time to replace them. When getting my partner to wobble the drum they just move with no resistance at all. It’s gonna be fun getting the pegs out 🙄

What if the mount that the shock mounts to rips out. Can the mount/bracket be fixed?
Just drill all the way thru and use a longer bolt and lock nut

How did you get the front of thw washer off? I dont have the two screws in the outside edge of the front piece.
