Scott, you have no ideas how much I appreciated this video. Single mother of five children and my washer stopped spinning. Watched this and gave myself a pep talk and was able to see the worn brushes. 10 buck on Amazon for two and we are spinning again! 💕
Absolutely amazing! Determined my washer needed new brushes for the electric motor. $8.00 in parts and SCOTT's video! SCOTT...You rock. Guess I'll cancel the repair appointment scheduled in the morning!!!
My Bosch Axxis washer is 14 years old. I usually do 3 or 4 loads per week. I couldn’t believe how worn down my carbon was compared to the new one. I found your video on TH-cam and had it fixed in 30 minutes. Thank you so much, my washer is humming away getting the job done, and I couldn’t be happier.
A huge thanks, Scott! Changed the brushes and back to spinning. On the first run, it’s a lot louder making a whirring noise as it spins. Searched a bit and sound like it could be the brushes wearing in and go away after a few cycles. Will try running it more, but wanted to see if you’ve heard this and if it could potentially be the brushes in backwards.
Great, sounding a lot better already. Used opening it as a change to pull all the tubes going from the drain filter back, they were pencil thin with the amount of sludge caked along them. Guess the guy we bought the house from never cleaned them
Thank you. Saved our washer from landfill. No appliance repair companies in our area. Watched the video and bought the carbon brushes and in a approx an hour had it repaired.
Thanks! This was perfect. Took some work because i have this stacked with the dryer on top in my bathroom upstairs. But its working like new after this! 20 year old washer and still going strong

Watched this video and thought well the machine is not working so i gave it a go or buy a new one , the instructions are great and it worked ! Thanks Scott ! Carbon brushes had worn right down , hopefully will get another 10+ years out of my machine
Amazing, fixed my machine right up Small note, when it comes to pulling out the modular connector, mine had a zip tie connecting it to the motor. Had to be cut off to remove the motor from the machine.
Hi, we replaced the motor brushes, powered the Bosch Excel 1400 back on but unfortunately it still won't spin - do you know what it could be? And if it is the unbalance sensor then how do you replace it?
hi, my front load washer won’t spin even after replacing the whole motor. seems no problem with drain or belt. The motor would start and make spinning noises but drum wouldn’t move at all. motor is newly replaced. what could be the issue? appreciate any help
I have a Bosch 500 nexxt series washer. Their is no error code but the washer turns on water works drain works but the tub won't spin. After watching your video i figured it could be the carbon brush. I took it apart and after examining the motor there isn't no carbon brush on it. I'm stumped on what to do now. Any suggestions?
I also have a Bosch 500 washer. I can hear the water pumping also pumps water to the drain but the tub never fills or spins. Any ideas? Sounds like a jet plane. I took off circle cover and opened up that knob, there was 2 pieces of plastic in there that look like zip ties or part of some internals. Help!
Hi, is there a wrong / right way to insert the brushes? I replaced mine and the motor has a crackling sound now. Is that normal or did I put them wrong?
Going to reply to my own message. There's a wrong and a right way of inserting the brushes, so pay attention. Spin your motor to check for unusual noises before you put everything together.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for this, I was able to get my washer spinning again!
That is Excellent Jessica😊❤️

Fantastic! You’re right, they are loud for about 4 cycles👍

So great to be able to fix our washer, really easy and saved an expensive call out. So much appreciated.
You’re very welcome David👍
Amazing, fixed my machine right up
Small note, when it comes to pulling out the modular connector, mine had a zip tie connecting it to the motor. Had to be cut off to remove the motor from the machine.
Mine had this as well, I used the needle nose pliers to pinch off the tip that was holding the tie to the motor.
Excellent video! Hubs was able to fix the washer with these amazing instructions. Thank you!!!!!
Thanks so much Patti❤️👍😊
Used this video to diagnose and repair our motor bushes. Easy and perfect fix. Machine is working beautifully now. Thanks 🙏🏻

Hi, we replaced the motor brushes, powered the Bosch Excel 1400 back on but unfortunately it still won't spin - do you know what it could be? And if it is the unbalance sensor then how do you replace it?
I wonder if it could be a faulty door lock.
Does it agitate ok?
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Hi no the drum doesn't move at all. The water in and waste out work but the drum itself does not do anything
@@Blackmamba12345 Same problem with mine. Change the carbon brushes. Water drains fine but no drum movement at all.

Can you easily spin the spin basket by hand?
thanks for replying! yes I can easily spin it manually
Which Torx bit? Which nut driver?

No codes either
Everything is soaked but it never spun

Great advice,
Thank you👍
Thank you. very informative
Thanks , I’ll get another 20 years out of this washer now 🤞👌
I bet you will👍
Does it show an error code #?
It won’t show an error code but it will not agitate or spin because the motor won’t work until you replace the brushes.
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance OK. Thanks
Some Bosch models it shows one.
I start hearing crazy noises with would that be the bushings or would that be something else?
Was it ? I ordered brushes just waiting on them. The drum was making noise for a week before It gave up.
In my case it was the brushes. Also the bottom brush the spade connector had come off the brush. I changed them anyway working great now.
Mine is a 500 plus and it says it has a brushless motor! It won't spin or agitate
It can't be brushes then. Seek advice.
Not brushes; not door lock! Starts and then stops spinning, before reaching near full speed ahead!
