Rashawn Ross, trumpet player for Dave Matthews Band, spoke very highly of these dudes! Thats why I'm going to see them tonight, in Port Chester NY at the Capital Theatre! Funk band, very DOPE
Got to see Lettuce at the caverns in Tennessee. After the show the bassist walked passed me and I stuck out my fist to fist bump him. I had a beer in that same hand and he thought I was handing him the beer. He took my empty beer can, thanked me, and never looked back.
this is factual evidence in numbers that real music that is well crafted and thought out is overlooked by the masses and that all maistream music is just garbahhhhge with cheap melodies and marketing. bottom line u want good music u gotta look for it dont expect it to find u. lettuce is one of my favorites after binge listening to crush and fly in the same day after i heard this song was so into it LETTUCE4EVER!
I know no one in any generation who will deny lettuce as the cream of the crop of jam groups. People who like Dave Brubeck and Oscar Peterson all the way to electronic dance music. The beautiful chords of the brass and the funk of the sax is great. Drummer, organist, guitarist, and bassist all know what I want to hear. I love there upbeat stuff a lot as well but to see the saxophone player mix hit own synthesizer on spot,is really impressive. I could swear I hear a pan flute but I think it's just modulated sax!
I am just amazed , feeling such good vibes from this piece of art , the love is flowing from my heart , just love... If anyone listen to this and remenber another song that has thiskind of vibe please tell me. Peace.
Where on earth have I been since 1992 when this awesome band formed?! Thank you so much to JazzFM being responsible for bringing them into my life. I just cannot stop listening and dancing. Music does NOT get any better than this, thank you. Check Ryan out - are you single? :o)
I know this was a rhetorical question, but...I like it, but it's a bit "snoozy": not much going on. Sort of an ambient jam. Nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't excite me in any way
i just dont know how to express this , i ve been lsiten to this song since i discovery this , it is such a good vibe , fuck man , this is just in the point ... some great peace ! thats what i feel ,deep into my soul ,this make me feel better , think better .Just feel grateful@@!!!!!
Another JazzFM introduction but they have been around since '92! True pro musicians, look at the enjoyment on each of their faces. I love all of them and I have got to see them, although seeing them this year looks highly unlikely. Sheer genius and long may you please continue Lettuce. PS Ryan are you single? :o)
one has to truely bring something to this to get something from it, id rather do this be this listen to this, then all the up in your face crap you dont need an emagination for.
sorry, but for me, you have skipped the best part of the original version which is the drum part in the middle of the song. could be stressed more... But overall great song and a great performance!
amazing song, but imo the keys are a bit too low in the mix, lack of presence sadly. makes it sound like something is missing (compared to the album version)
Can anyone tell me why there isn't a trombone player in this band? Don't get me wrong they're an amazing group just think a trombone would help full that last touch
Makes me so happy people are still discovering Lettuce.
Just found them
Taking my dad to go see them live for my birthday in Tucson! Have been trying to see them since before the Pandemic, sooo stoked!
Wow! That’s all I need to say! These brothers are ON POINT! ❤

Got to see Lettuce at the caverns in Tennessee. After the show the bassist walked passed me and I stuck out my fist to fist bump him. I had a beer in that same hand and he thought I was handing him the beer. He took my empty beer can, thanked me, and never looked back.

This is the only song I go to when I’m sad. I cannot help but shake that bad ass mood❤️

true that, lettuce is definetly a natural progression for funk
u mad bro
he mad
Check this out: watch?v=sbsseEWDQkM
Maybe not your genre, but great (non-mainstream) music nonetheless!
Absolute epic. It has more funk than funk itself.. Awesome band..
How can anyone dislike this?
Best band find ever. Depth/pocket/taste
This is some really stylish funk right here! Love it!
I funking love this band!
First time listening to your music 🎶 🎵 I love you guys. You have a new fan ❤

Adam is a monster...damn. somewhere, someday this band will be highly sampled.
Adam is THE MAN!!!Thje drummer!!!!
Solid all around. Funk Yea
Awesome track. Reminds me of a summertime hit
Saw these guys in the lil area of Swepsonville/Saxpahaw ... at the Haw River Ballroom. Was blown away! Great show and venue!
Speechless
This needs more views!
what kind of inhuman beast doesn't enjoy this? shame on all the 27 who disliked this lettuce dime
This one hits hard.
Best band name, smooth vibes - what more would you ask for?
I am just amazed , feeling such good vibes from this piece of art , the love is flowing from my heart , just love... If anyone listen to this and remenber another song that has thiskind of vibe please tell me. Peace.
@Moxon My favorite is Jekyll and Hyde live.
Sound Tribe Sector 9 "Circus" especially, but a lot of their music in general. Also Lotus would be up your alley as well.
Khruangbin does this for me.
Yussef Dayes - love is the message live at abbey road
is so good I only break it out for special occasions
I was turned on to this by NPR's "All Things Considered," 15 March 2017.
Update 18 Aug 2024: Still grooving with that horn section.
AMAZING!
Wowwww. Buenos músicos aún existen
No solo la porquería que ahora pasa en la tv.. woww increíbles.
Wow😮 no words
Philly smooth. Some great quoting and referencing going on in this joint.
Smooth perfection, mind is blown
We can't wait to see Lettuce get down at High Sierra!
Where on earth have I been since 1992 when this awesome band formed?! Thank you so much to JazzFM being responsible for bringing them into my life. I just cannot stop listening and dancing. Music does NOT get any better than this, thank you. Check Ryan out - are you single? :o)
hidden gem
I know its a cliché comment but , who can dislike this masterpiece ahaha
I know this was a rhetorical question, but...I like it, but it's a bit "snoozy": not much going on. Sort of an ambient jam. Nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't excite me in any way
So tight
I love these guys!! I'm going to see them at Red Rocks on the 8th. Can't wait.
WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!
Great music!)
I gotta see these guys LIVE!!
John E. Silverstacker YES YOU DO!!! Don't ever miss an opportunity to see them! One of the greatest and most fun shows I have ever witnessed. :)
They are touring right now actually! Hope you get to see em
i just dont know how to express this , i ve been lsiten to this song since i discovery this , it is such a good vibe , fuck man , this is just in the point ... some great peace ! thats what i feel ,deep into my soul ,this make me feel better , think better .Just feel grateful@@!!!!!

So cool it's hott.
Bless you music. Bless you.
Cooler than a ice cube
Sublime !!!!
I am going to their concert at the Lowell Boarding House Park on Saturday (6.23/18).
Great !!!
Love Lettuce! (horn players deserve a little more screen time)
This is freaking legit!!! props to lettuce
TIGHT AS FUCK JAM
Notice how the band uses Sony MDR 7506 Headphones - People who know good studio cans will understand.
Tonight. On the lake.
See yall there
Legit
what kind of FX the sax is using ? sounds great
SUPREME TASTE IN FUNK!!!!
3:18 that technique is so fucking sick
These guys were great at Vertex...
Did the guitarist play with Robert Randolph & the Family Band for a while?
He certainly did.
Under-fucking-rated
DOPAMINE ... ARISE !!
Lettuce's 'Phyllis' has the same melody as Crumb's 'Locket'
Bassist's personal mantra: Every gurl crazy bout a sharp dressed man
all cylinders
Awesome...but annoying that the cameras don’t focus on all the sax and trumpet FX work
What is the saxophone player's name?
one has to truely bring something to this to get something from it, id rather do this be this listen to this, then all the up in your face crap you dont need an emagination for.
Heizenberg 🎺
sorry, but for me, you have skipped the best part of the original version which is the drum part in the middle of the song. could be stressed more... But overall great song and a great performance!
amazing song, but imo the keys are a bit too low in the mix, lack of presence sadly. makes it sound like something is missing (compared to the album version)
Can anyone tell me why there isn't a trombone player in this band? Don't get me wrong they're an amazing group just think a trombone would help full that last touch
ryan jones It all depends on the gig. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont.
Budget, most likely + availability.
Every single one of them is wearing a hat
I really like their music!, but that Hammond is wasted on this song. He could play a Yamaha PSS A50, and you wouldn't know the difference!
