The costs will now be adjusted under The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which is a law that allows Medicare to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies to help lower medication costs. This is the law that lowered insulin costs.
I feel like there is probably more to this story than is presented here. During Trump's first term in office, his administration worked to get the cost of insulin, and maybe some other medications lowered to a more affordable rate. The Trump administration was also working on requiring hospitals to be transparent about their costs for services, so people could make informed choices about where they seek care. I don't know what ended up happening with all of that because the Covid pandemic and 2020 election issues overshadowed a lot of other things, and these particular items didn't directly affect me. I don't believe the Trump administration is setting out to harm seniors. A lot of the struggles senior citizens (and everyone else) are experiencing with affording medication are probably tied to Biden-Harris era inflation which jumped when Biden took office. Everything costs more, and that could have as much to do with the struggle to afford medications as anything else. Some of these same people delaying picking up prescriptions and cutting pills in half may be having to make hard choices on what they buy at the grocery store and which utility bill to pay. Consumer debt has skyrocketed in recent years, and people have been paying for groceries with credit cards. Auto repossessions are up, as are foreclosures. These are Biden-Harris era economic outcomes, and they may play a bigger role in the struggles people are experiencing in buying their medications. I think it would be wise to keep an eye on the situation to see if there is more to the story than was presented here for why the negotiating ability of that entity was reversed, and see if something else replaces that policy that will give other cost savings on medications that will offer some relief to consumers.
Key word: First term. He hasn't even mentioned this stuff yet, why? Because he probably just did it to get reelected and doesn't actually care. If he did care, he wouldn't have revoked it.
Omg wake up!!! He has no healthcare plan and he makes more off of big pharma while still fleecing his supporters on all his latest grifts. They showed him signing the EO to revoke the savings the former guy actually accomplished.
Pharmacy companies got news in their back pocket.
Looks like they have Trump in their back pocket.
You bought it, you own it! Grandma and Grandpa voted for him, now they will have to cut the cable off and no more Fox news all day!
These drug companies are making millions. No reason why meds should be that costly !

Expensive meds again!
Its already going up one pill for $11.99 boo boo Trump!

Biden signed an executive order the day he entered office to remove what Trump had done. I saw the news story in my FB feed past posts yesterday. LOL
