Three stations ready, hospital dramas and more budget blowouts: is Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel still on track?
    * What is Metro Tunnel?
    * What has been blamed for the latest blowout?
    * When is it actually opening?
    * What’s this about electromagnetic interference?
    * When will we actually be able to ride it?

Three stations ready, hospital dramas and more budget blowouts: is Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel still on track?
    * The Victorian government has blamed increased building costs for the additional $837m spend, with the project now more than $3bn over its initial budget
    * The cost of the Victorian government’s Metro Tunnel rail project has blown out by an additional $837m.
    * At a snap press conference on Thursday afternoon, the state’s transport infrastructure minister, Danny Pearson, announced the government had reached a deal with the project’s builders to cover the growing construction costs of the new underground rail line.
    * Pearson said under the agreement, the government would provide the Cross Yarra Partnerships consortium with up to $745m of additional payments, attached to the completion of milestones.
    * The consortium would also chip in a “comparable amount”, though he would not provide a figure. About $85m will also be given to the government’s rail projects authority to continue testing and trialling on the line.
    * It will bring the cost of the taxpayer-funded portion of the project to $13.48bn, well above the $11bn estimated in 2017.

I've watched the first 5min and thats enough for me. Im sorry to say I'm struggling to see how this film could perform well at a festival.

G'day @monkeysgone2heaven1 - how are you? thanks for the incisive feedback/professional insights. Much appreciated.
I agree with you - the episode you have watched is a shift away from webseries format towards reportage within the same mockumentary format using the same characterisation. It makes sense to me that it makes no sense to you.
That said, I see no point leaving footage languishing on a hard drive. Clearly, I'm not an editor. Lockdowns afforded time to do this for myself and learn. [season 1] can be found on 'home tab'. You'll find even less quality in [season 1] most likely.
It's not for everyone, this I already know. My objective: capture in real-time evolving, rapid changes and developments in Melbourne around these projects and transport improvements. The format is a deliberate point of difference away from other YT content formats. The massive increase in engagement, reach, watch time, views etc since this format shift into 'reportage' has been positive and spectacular. So the experiment continues....
Content in this 'episode' based on a separate original script for a 10 mins TV pilot written in traditional format (based on a work-place accident at a live worksite in 2010). Road-tested live in public with Q & A forum immediately afterwards at 'A Fistful of Scripts'. Same script presented / pitched for consideration at 2017 American Film Market. The character in this episode is not in that same script but a separation and extension outside of it. The mockumentary format has no script, just an outline based on script mentioned above....and mostly riffing to camera.
I really appreciate you taking the 5 mins and especially taking further time to leave/contribute feedback. It's much appreciated. Probably more detail than you were after, but it's more context to this content you see here....and wanted to respect the time you've taken to provide input.

Why are you showing the same brumby train ride over and over with weird camera angles? Not sure what your footage has to do with the Metro tunnel mate.

G'day @gregquan5647 - how are you? thanks for the incisive feedback/ insights. Much appreciated.
re: 'same brumby train ride over and over with weird camera angles?' - a deliberate choice to break up the possible monotony of watching a single, unbroken length of footage and voice over. An experiment. Makes it more interesting for me. I found myself alone on that carriage with a camera during LXR works so 'had a go' and shot it...
re: 'Not sure what your footage has to do with the Metro tunnel mate' - I agree with you - thanks, no problem. It makes sense to me that it makes no sense to you. I can only walk around the outside of the worksites capturing what's going on. I don't expect viewers to watch an hour or two of that...so that's why so much is edited down and sped up into this package.
