I love Linstead and miss that partnership but Upton is more the partner that Halstead needs. I hate that Lindsay was written into someone who was always too caught up in her mommy drama or something like that.

No. They're fine the way they are. Cops working together on these shows don't need to constantly fall in bed with each other. They can coexist with one another as friends. That's what made the Stabler-Benson dynamic so good on SVU. They were friendly and had each other's backs, but the relationship was always platonic with no romantic overtones.

Couldn't agree more. There's nothing wrong with having two partners work together while still maintaining a platonic relationship. And it gives off a more realistic vibe of the environment of the police department they're portraying.

@@annies1041 i guess that one is out of the window. i didn't want them to be in a relationship either, because if they/when they end things one of them is gonna be in a really bad place and they're not gonna be the same around each other anymore. i think their friendship/partnership is amazing and i don't wanna see it fall through. season 8 was rough for upstead but i still love seeing them together :).
This was one of my favorite parts of the episode. I love earnest and open conversations like this. I hope they stay platonic partners. It works.
Couldn't agree more. I don't know why a lot of cop shows are scared of partners having just a platonic relationship, and wants everybody to jump in bed.

I love them. I'm very glad the powers that be didn't pair them off romantically. They need to stay friends I think, I like that they can show a man and a woman having a close friendship without anything more (at least for the time being while she's having a thing with Adam) without the excuse (like with Severide and Shay) of one of them being gay. I hope they keep their dynamic the same.
This scene is great. But then Upton is fast becoming my favourite character in the show, so any scene with her is great in my book!

Andrew De Jesus oh yes there were ample example of that in the Chicagoverse Severide and Shay for one hell even Antonio had a supportive but platonic partnership with his late partner Jules Willhite. Now it seems that no guy and girl in these shows can even say hello without shacking up.
