STREET FOOD: At our first street food vendor, we had some hearty Kenyan dhal with fresh chapatis, avocado, and chilies, along with some African tea (chai). Then, we continued on and found a vendor selling mayai chemsha (sliced hardboiled egg with kachumbari). I hadn’t had it since my very first day in Kenya!
KUKU MEAL: Next, we stopped at a local restaurant selling fresh kuku (chicken). They kill and butcher the chicken right there and clean and cook it for you. We enjoyed it alongside some ugali, managu, sumac, and my own David’s Hot Sauce.
FRUITS & SNACKS: After our meal, we headed back out and saw several street vendors, including one who sold a sesame seed cookie and another who sold fresh and ripe mangoes and papaya. Both were phenomenal, and the mango was the most unique mango I’d ever had in my life!

About Me:
My name is David Hoffmann. Since starting David’s Been Here in 2008, I have traveled to over 1,400 destinations in 98 countries to experience and document unique cultures on my TH-cam channel, travel blog, and social media.
I highlight culture and historical sites, but my passion is food! I love to experience and showcase the different flavors each destination has to offer, from casual street food to gourmet restaurant dining.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
What I notice in Kenya is that even the street foods are very healthy......not too much heavy sauces,,,and roasting of chickens ..we sometimes do it in TANDT here for curries in outdoor fireside cooking....sugarcane juice....eggs with tomatoes...All these foods with David's hot sauce...Awesome!!!...Another good hightlighting of street foods. As always Thanks David and Tasos...safe travels.
The lady at 6:51 is so funny 😂😂😂. David she was saying she wants you or in Kiswahili 'nataka wewe' lmao

Fruits are soo good. I peeled sugar cane with my teeth when I was younger, not sure if I can still do it.😂
David lovely vlogs from Africa. But listen India Masterchef had two candid dates in the top three who were from Assam India. The winner was Assamese. Would love to see you vlog from this region of India. Was quite unexpected and unusual cuisine. .
I did post a long Documentary video about Assam and a Assamese meal with a Family there in September earlier this year! More to come!

I love my city nakuru but those street food has no little spices. use blackpepper, & chicken cubes for flavour have eaten in that restaurant I had my spiece in my bag too. For street food mombasa has the best cooked food. breakfast coconut beans,Mahamri or chapati ,Tea masala.
Wamepika vi'kienyeji wallahi. Hahaha. Mashakura
I have never seen a papaya that big
Pulling off skin of those sugarcane I will lose a tooth. Lol.
Hey David. Yes you’ve reposted. Looking at all these chapati and paratha and Roti this past week; hubby and I want to indulge. The egg with tomato salad and 🌶️ does look refreshing. Take away the dryness of the yolk. 3 ppl on a bike? Wow. 😂. Was wondering if the rooster meat. I’ve had fowl and it was too tough. Seems similar. You whipped out your hot sauce. Can’t wait to taste it. It should be arriving tomorrow on my sons 30 th birthday. My husband loves sugar cane. Awww. She said you’re funny. Thank you for making my day. You are infectious David. Humble and transparent. Omg. Can taste the mango 🥭. Yesss. Papaya 🙌🏼. Amazing Vlog as usual. Never heard of this city. Thanks for sharing and see you next video.
LOLLLL Always gotta whip out the hot sauce. That is so amazing it is arriving I'd love to hear how you like it. And happy early 30th birthday to your son too! Thats a big one! I appreciate the tour guides but one of them is a bit misleading. Watching the Kenyan series some of the things he said was either a lie or could be explained differently. Probably grammar was an issue for him . Just an advice for the audience here
no time to buy fuckin biscuits 😅
This was hard to watch. Poor 😮chicken.
They hunt the chicken before slaughtering... that guy is lying! chicken is reared not hunted.
During the day kienyeji chicken are left to roam around
His grammar was an issue . Being Kenyan I think he tried to explain the best way he could but some of the things he said didn't make sense or he lied .
Not the voyager but the colonizer
