It's weird hearing Davey Allison saying Red Farmer "doesn't have much time left with his career", and then knowing that Red's still racing, and Davey's been dead for 25 years~ Thanks for another quality upload, Smiffy!~
He also won the 1984 ARCA 500k @ Talladega, as well as the 1971 Permatex 300 @ Daytona~ RacingReference only has ARCA stats from 1985 - present day, so it does appear to those who aren't familiar with his career that he only had the lone win here though~
Red still races late models at Talladega Short every Saturday night & is still competitive in his early 90s

Buttermilkjug When we were kids I remember watching and thought Farmer was going to die in like 10 years of old age lol
Little did Davey know how short his life was gonna be. Red Farmer and Morgan Shepherd, they'll race until they die.
They both got in a helicopter crash sadly
Checking in 4 years later, Red Farmer is still going
So ridiculous that Red Farmer is still racing 30+ years later
Row 7 - Bob Keselowski ...to think that family would end up with Nationwide Series and Cup Series championships :D
Not gonna lie. I think Moise backed off on the initial start to let Farmer take the lead and watch and learn. Smart.
Ageless Red Farmer's only ARCA win...

@@Buttermilkjug Thanks for remembering! But a little correction - 1984 ARCA 200. (7/28/84). The 500k was in May. My dad was the car owner :-)
Oops~ I was playing cards with J.D. Shellnut the night I made that comment~ Thanks for the correction~ :)
@@Buttermilkjug HAHA!!
