    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    Olapex has been a life changing product for me. I use #6 and #7. They are a *must have* if you have thick hair with frizz. Not only my hair is shinny and soft but easy to comb and style. And you don't need to use much, just some drops. Love it!

    I’m so glad I came across your video. I’m going to try my new bottle today. After menopause, my thick, coarse, wavy hair lost the coarseness and my waves became full on curls. The thing is, they sometimes seem frizzy because they go their own way. I’m hoping this will calm down some of that frizz.

      I can't say if that would leave a yellow tint, I wouldn't notice on my hair color. My review of No 6 will be up sometime next month I think. It is the last Olaplex product i am missing in my reviews (other than the violet shampoo, but I don't think I will purchase that one).

      @@susanmcf1 I know this thread is old but I recently got the no 4p. It's super pigmented so I use half the amount and mix it with regular no 4. That way both last longer and I'm still getting that purple pigment to cancel out the brassy tones, yet not so much it turns my platinum highlights purple. I have lowlights and highlights and my hair does really well with mixing a little of each in my hand at the time of washing my hair. I use no 5 and let it sit in while I wash my body and shave. That way it has at least 5 mins to soak in. I'm actually going back next month doe my root touch up and more lightener. She said she will do the stand alone treatment for me as well. She is going to mix no 1 in with my lightener and color then add the no 2 after my rinse. I'm super excited bc I've never had the stand alone. She is only charging me an additional 25 for that treatment and olaplex recommends having it done at time of any chemical treatment and then obviously use that at home system in between your salon visits. Let me know if you have tried the 4p and how u like it.

    I have only just started using it. I have newly wavy hair (since menopause), but my hair has been baby fine and dense all my life. Until post-menopause when my hair went wavy (my brother went kinky curly at puberty). Now, at 70% silver with the new waves, I have NO idea what to do.
    I can tell you that my ends are fried. I'm still learning about moisture (because for my whole life, moisture was a no-no because it weighed my hair down so I looked like a wet rat).
    I took a chance with Olaplex 7 because I'd heard good things. I was not disappointed.
    I don't know yet how much to use for my hair when wet. When my hair dried, it was still frizzy looking, so I added another "dose" to my dry hair, which is terrifying to someone who has had baby fine, board straight hair my whole life. With this hair type, you would NEVER add ANY kind of oil. But now I'm post menopausal, and my hair has changed, so why not try?
    he waves perked up immediately. No tangles. No greasy feel. I was shocked.
    I'll sleep on the hair and see what happens in the morning. I'm pretty sure that it's going to be fine based on what it feels like now.
    Honestly, I'm a simple girl. I don't spend a whole lot on beauty products. I don't wear makeup except on the RARE occasion, like every 5 years or so.
    However, I'm growing my hair and it's wonderfully wavy, so I'm diving into that because I was never "allowed" to have long hair as a child. Always wanted it.
    Several years ago, I grew it out like guys do without doing anything to it, and it was a mess on the ends. So bad, that I cut it back to the super short pixie I had my whole life.
    Now, I know more, so I'm trying again. Long hair is easier to deal with than short hair ... unless you have a super-short pixie that required no intervention, which is what I had.
    There are so many options with long hair, as long as it's healthy and it doesn't terminally tangle at the ends so you can't even braid it.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True, long hair is much easier to maintain. If you don't want to style it, you just put it back. My sister has short hair and it is much more work.

    • @DoctorAnne

      I am a huge fan of silicones because they reduce the friction and thus the risk of breakage and damage to the hair. I do not believe that silicones are bad for the hair, quite the contrary.

    This oil doesn't seem to actually go into the hair itself and nourish it. I feel like it just adds some sort of thin protective greasy layer to the hair and even after applying it stays on my hands - doesn't really absorb.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Like many hair oils, it is supposed to form a film on the hair to increase shine and make it easier to comb through, so I can see why you feel that way. I don‘t think that is a bad thing though, but it maybe depends on what you are looking for.

    • @jflsdknf

      You should look into "drying oils" to find natural ones that absorb rapidly, oils have different rates of absorption
