My son, a mountain climber, was one of a six person team who climbed Denali several years ago. He was one of three members of the team who were able to summit the mountain. It was 40 degrees below zero at the top. There is only a two month window of opportunity to climb the mountain each year. He was employed by "The Mountaineers", located in Seattle, Washington and is the oldest climbing organization in the United Sates. Unfortunately he passed away last year but lived his life doing what he wanted to do and living life to the fullest. I'm really glad you were able to see Denali up close and your video has given me some special memories to remember. Thank you.
Wow! That is quite a narrative. You must be so proud! I am So sorry for his loss. That has got to be incredibly painful for you. Never stop talking about him. Keep his memory alive. Thank you for sharing his incredible story. I loved it 🥰 Bless your heart.
Oh wow, I'm so sorry for your loss, but what an amazing legacy your son left! That is such an awesome feat to have climbed Denali, he sounds like he truly knew how to live life to its fullest. I'm sure you have some epic stories of his to share, loved hearing about this one. 40 degrees below zero...can't even imagine!
Outstanding video of Denali! I was one of the 70% who didn't see it clearly. The Old Denali Highway is worth driving. Incidentally, the aircraft you were on... Last manufactured in 1967. New engine though, turbine replacing the radial piston engine.
You guys are troopers, IMO, I think that is what gets most residents in Ak, 35 years for me, is the amount of rain we get. While most of the lower 48 is still in summer mode, we are in the 40s 50s, I read in our local news, this summer is the 5th rainiest on record. Glad you all are enjoying your trip.
Flights to Denali take off from Denali Village about two minutes from the national park, Talkeetna about 2.5 hours from the national park, Fairbanks about two hours from the park, and Anchorage about 4 hours from the park. Most tourists do a flightseeing tour around Denali Peak or land on Kahiltna glacier at Basecamp from Denali Village or Talkeetna.
I'm so glad you guys are having so much fun, and letting us tag along. And as for the gaming I'm 55 and still game. Mw3 multiplayer hard-core. Heck yeah I'll never stop. 😊
We're so glad the weather cooperated for your flight. We enjoyed meeting you in the Houston RV park! Thank you for sharing your adventures. God bless you and your family. Safe travels.
I can't believe the adventure through Alaska is almost over! It has been so fun to watch. I would love to fly up on that mountain, the views were beautiful, so I could only imagine how breathtaking they are in person. I want you to know that I saw a Brinkley heading down I-30 and liked to freak out but I realized you guys were probably still way North of us so it couldn't be you guys! LOL
Great Fairbanks and Denali. Keep enjoying it. Getting into the park is a thrill. Telkeetna is outstanding. The Grocery store has the best burgers in the rear. RV back safe👍👍👍
Spent 2 weeks in Alaska 2 years ago, 3 days in Denali. We were lucky, clear views of Denali every day we were there. AWESOME PLACE for sure. We went to the same hot springs.
wow all three days! that is amazing. You never know what you'll get with the weather, but we are so thankful for the great weather on our flight day for sure!
Great video of Denali trip, thanks for sharing! Great seeing both channels hanging out together. The plane trip looked a little sketchy and you’re correct couldn’t capture all the beauty of those mountains.
I was in the ARMY at Fort Wainwright in the 80's. On a very nice day we could see Denali from the top floor of BACH (Bassett ARMY community hospital) from time to time. That's about 280 miles. It was breathtaking every time. I'm glad y'all got to see it close up.
Lovely video!! Denali Mt is so Imponent and really beautiful, Maverick and Lealand seemed happy to play at the KOA pet area 🐾🐾😀 stay warm and safe ☺️💛💛
Beautiful video. You brought back a lot of wonderful memories when we visited Alaska in 2017. I want to especially thank you for taking care of Cody and Trinity for Joseph and Kalyn so they could go on their wonderful excursion to Brooks Falls. Thank you for letting us come along on your adventure.
Flew a tiny plane about that size from Oahu to Maui and they weighed us like that and determined our seat assignments based on that to balance the plane!
That plane ride looked amazing! We are pretty intimidated by traveling to Alaska, but we are taking notes from you and Open Roading! 😊 You did it right! Just amazing!
I am born and raised in Cordova , Alaska and think you have done a fantastic job on your Alaska videos happy you’ve had a great experience here sorry to see y’all go but maybe you will be back again! Lucky Day to get a nice view of Denali I was happy for you. Safe travels to you guys wherever your journey takes you next🙏💙🩷👋🏻
So glad you got to see Denali! We are part of the lucky 30% too. We saw it with a beautiful, blue and clear sky. The park ranger said that was a rare sight!! Keep enjoying living! So happy you are doing it while you are young!
KOA is expensive, but we utilized them a lot our first year, for their consistency. We only found a couple that were ‘meh’. Also, we would LOVE to meet you in Tampa! We are so proud of your growth and success! You do such a great job!
We just finished four and half weeks touring around Alaska pulling a tear drop. Staying at Denali (a soon to be KOA camp ground) for a few days we woke one morning to clear skies and immediately headed to Denali National Park. Didn’t take the bus, decided to drive in our truck and we are happy to say we are now a member of the 30% club. We have to say, this is our second visit to Alaska - first was RVing through in 2019, and this time the weather was terrible; lots of rain and cold temperatures, but as they say no bad weather just bad clothing. Did a helicopter glacier trip and ATV trip and enjoyed both. Drove the Denali Highway and used IOverlander to spot good boon dock sites. Travel safe
LOL!! The very 1st place you stopped at the overlook to see Mt Denali you didn't see it but it was there (@ 3:38). You could only see the top which was the very white peak above the gray clouds.
Thank you for sharing your epic Denali flight. As a pilot, the only time I recall viewing snow-capped mountains was on a flight in a 1956 Beechcraft Bonanza I had just purchased in Phoenix AZ. We were on our way home to Alabama with the first stop in El Paso TX. That sight was an epic thrill for me and can't imagine whit it would be like to land and walk on a glacier at 12,000' and share the view of Denali with my wife Terry.
I hope you take the Top of the World highway on the way back. The Carcross desert is a nice detour. The Cassier Highway is a little different scenery if you choose on the way back, plus driving up to the Salmon Glacier is kind of neat.
KOA's can be nicer sometimes, but when I describe RV parks space are close together I say KOA close. Only one I've seen where there is a lot of room is in San antonio Texas.
Hey, great video. I was one of the few who saw Denali, on a clear day. Massive, just massive. Glad you enjoyed the trip. I also want to thank you for watching Trinity while your travel buddies went to photograph bears. It is good to have such good friends and to BE such good friends. Travel safely!
sooo massive! I could have never imagined how big it was until seeing it. It really was so crazy. and yes, I agree! And it's easy to be good friends to good friends, plus who wouldn't want to spend a little extra time with Trinity and Cody!
Wow, the Denali video was breath taking. Even though you said you can’t capture it on video, I let my imagination run wild. Craig, I understand what you said at the end about missing the conveniences of the lower 48. There are always trade offs. Safe travels home.
So glad that at least some of the beauty came through! Watching it back, I could tell how it just couldn't quite do it justice, but the memory will live on!
I was in Fairbanks this summer, went to Denali, China Hot springs, we drove up to the Arctic circle, saw the pipline i dont know how many times and camped at the campground on Fort Wainwright for 9 days, came i handy being retired military, even had a Arctic Ground squirrel in our camper, had a good time.
We always enjoy your videos. This one was spectacular. We would love to travel like you have. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.👍👍
Hi guys, I’m ACC m not much for small planes but it should be a good adventure. When are you heading south? That’s a long drive but with trees changing colour should be a pretty trip. Things should look a little different going in the opposite direction, take care. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
We are already heading back south, it was getting cold in Alaska! Just have a couple more videos from our Alaska adventures and then you’ll see us on our way!
In 2018 we visited Chena Hot Springs and Boondocked in the CG there, as we pulled up I noticed an area that looked like an old run way and it was the run way that they landed the plane on. A man comes running out and hollers that an active run way you must move. I asked when was the last time a plane landed her, grass was up to my waist on the runway. We toured the Geo Thermal building and the Green House. Played in the hot springs too. Right out our back window was a creek running and it was peaceful at night with the running water. They had'nt finished the plane yet. They were putting the pylons under the plane. Fun three nights there. Left there and headed back to North Pole then on Home to the USA. Yall are making up have so many memories of the best time we have ever done in our 8 yrs full timing.
haha I guess they were keeping the runway open, "just in case" 😆 I bet the geothermal building and green house tour was cool to see! It was such an interesting resort overall. It was like everywhere you looked, there was something interesting to see. We are basically following your route it seems (next weeks video should bring back more memories!) Thanks for watching!
WOW! Thank you again Craig and Victoria for another amazing adventure. Just gorgeous and I'm sure in person was simply breathtaking. This will also get added to the bucket list. Be safe! Hope to meet you both someday!!
We love watching all your adventures! We bought a Brinkley and have been in it for a week and a half. We love it. Hopefully we can meet up with you in the near future! Love and blessings to you both! ❤Dawn & Steve
Another excellent video. That Denali adventure certainly looked amazing. Glad you are enjoying your trip. It does the soul good to get away from some of our modern conveniences, but it does not mean we won't miss them :) Although it looks like Alaska has pretty much everything, just not necessarily everywhere. Looking forward to getting our trailer up there one day. Continued safe travels.....
Denali was definitely an epic adventure! And yeah, you could find most things in Alaska, they just weren't always located conveniently nearby - many times you'd have to go to Anchorage, which is at least kind of in the center lol. Hope you get the chance to travel there one day!
Thanks for taking us along on your Denali Trip You did a real good job filming and editing. I have enjoyed your Alaska trip and hope you have a safe trip to the lower 48.
Awesome vid! I love how between y'all and Open Roading, getting to see this much of Alaska! Thank you for the journey! And thank you for taking care of Cody and Trinity for a night. Looking forward to the next! Safe travels!
Wow what a great video. We spent all last summer in AK and sadly didn’t take a flight but did see Denali a few times. How ironic you stayed at the KOA we were workamping there last summer. We met some of our fav you tube peeps there and sure wish we were there this year too. It’s a great park - the owner just keeps making it better. Thanks for the great video clips highlighting it too. Travel safe back to lower 48
So glad you had great weather for your big adventure. You have had such bad weather. Really glad the weather was good for the last big trip. Hope for safe travels back to the east coast.
Apparently this July was one of the top 10 wettest on record for Alaska 😅 However, when we first got there, we did have a couple of weeks of beautiful sunshine weather, which we are really thankful for. After that, it's definitely been a lot of hit and miss on whether we saw the sun. Thank you for coming along on the adventure!
@@wildrvlife Next trip we plan to fly up and rent a car and see what we didn't get to see. We did a cruise and land tour. We went to Ketchikan, Juneu and Skagway and to Glacier Bay. Whittier Alaska, train ride to Talkeetna, then we stayed in Mt. McKinley and Denali on to Fairbanks. It was an awesome trip! Loved your plane ride. I am sure we spent about what you are traveling in your rig.

I can see it above the clouds. 4:18 sitting on the bench
Yup that's the top of denali. I got to watch it for 3 days when j went
Outstanding video of Denali! I was one of the 70% who didn't see it clearly. The Old Denali Highway is worth driving. Incidentally, the aircraft you were on... Last manufactured in 1967. New engine though, turbine replacing the radial piston engine.

That’s the same KOA that my friends and I my wife stayed in the first part of July and the last part of June 2024 and it is a nice KOA
WHAT AN AMAZING TRIP TO THE SUMMIT. A TRIP OF A LIFE TIME... LOVE YOU BOTH...ANNAMAY

The great thing about peeing in the hot springs is no one will ever know😊. Awesome video.
We took the flight in June. There are no words for the beauty.
Great video of Denali trip, thanks for sharing! Great seeing both channels hanging out together. The plane trip looked a little sketchy and you’re correct couldn’t capture all the beauty of those mountains.
Have a friend who is a doctor and 5 of her female doctor friends climbed Denali 10 years ago. Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.

We were in some of the same areas back in July/August, but not with our TT
Some of those towns are really small. Can't wate to go back
WOW - How, absolutely Beautiful. Hot Springs, very pretty. What a great adventure with different activities. Good Deal! Lucky You!
Wow! God is so amazing. I am in awe of him every single day. Thank you so much for sharing.

What an amazing adventure. The views from the plane were spectacular. I can't wait to see them myself in a few summers.
You are going to love them. It was an awesome adventure.
Hello! It was so nice meeting you Victoria! Sad we didn’t get to say hi to Craig. Super happy he had good wind for today! Safe travels ❤
Denali was amazing. What an adventure. And the ice house!!! I want to go! Thank you once again for sharing with us. ❤
Thank you so much for watching!
1) You didn't pet the mayor of Talkeetna
2) It's just amazing that Denali can hide behind the clouds. You know it is there but can't see any of it.
Victoria is totally an airport dad!!! Love yall!! Keep up the amazing adventures. Its fun to tag along ❤
Welcome to the 30% club ! We were there in May and we were lucky enough to see Denalis peak 2 days in a row !
Beautiful pictures of Denali. Enjoyed all of your videos of Alaska!
I tell folks about you guys and your adventures. They asked me if you were family. I do love ya.

Nice! Thank you for letting us know!
What a great way to see Mt. McKinley!! It was always a dream of mine to climb McKinley. Great video.
