It felt like a bunch of things where a person would feel like they only saw 1 or 2 niche things they're into, but everyone has a different 1 or 2 games
Conspiracy theory, Avowed got pushed to further work on PS5 port with similar timed exclusivity window. If Indy isn’t going to remain exclusive, why would you bump the Console Exclusive for the Timed Exclusive. They could have both breathed. Towerborne is delayed (except on Steam) anyway. November is a dead zone. It doesn’t make sense otherwise
As an Xbox fan, I hope it does go to PS5. Someday people will understand this isn't a bad thing at all. And Xbox won't be going away because of it. Console sales are not going to keep them afloat.. they've pivoted and can make a ton of money by Game pass/their games played as many places possible. And added bonus, gamers win.
@SensaiChill Completely disagree. There's no need to. They want their games and game pass everywhere.. that obviously includes their own platform. They're just not in the business of being the #1 console. There's a ton of products out there that don't just fold up shop because they're third in their market. Not to mention millions of people have digital libraries of games on Xbox. Those people would never buy an Xbox product again if they just got rid of consoles where their games are. So they would be screwed if they did by losing the biggest fans they have in the first place.
I would have to say that the Mafia announcement was really surprising and probably the best thing about the show. I think the show was solid. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. But man I have been craving a Mafia game and to hear that they are going back to the more linear scope of the series gets me excited. Mafia 1 is such a fantastic games. Mafia 2 not as good but still fun. Mafia 3 had a great story but the open world did that game no favors. So for them to go back in time to where the family all started has me excited.
I’m starting to feel that all these gamepass first party games are good games but they not super great AAA games like you find in Nintendo or Sony. Indy was the only game I was considering subbing again, but might as well wait and get it at ps5.
Even as an Xbox first gamer (I play everything), I agree to an extent. I'm stoked they have a ton of games coming finally but I am expecting majority to top out around an 8 or maybe 9. Until they prove they can put out 10s at least. With that said.. there's tons of 8s and 9s that are amazing games. Just usually not the cultural movements that some PS/Nintendo exclusives can be at times.
Why pay full price for a game that you might not like or will only play once?. Even if you end up loving it you're better off with Game Pass first then you can buy it outright afterwards.
Most of the time games that I like I buy a physical copy because even if I get it for free with a sub, I learn the hard way that they can be taken away from you. I prefer to buy the games I love than to renting them.
I haven’t watched any of these live since E3 probably 11 or 12 years ago, but I was going to say 5 out of 10. Maybe should bump it to a 6 just because I put “Secret Level” in my calendar.
People rate Keighly shows on a weird curve. "I set my expectations that this would be a 4/10 with a bunch of useless ads and very little real new news on major games. And it was a 4/10 so I rate it a 7 since it met my expectations of being a 4."
They're not getting rid of consoles at all.. that's major hyperbole. They're just not going to win a console war at this point against Sony/Nintendo. They've pivoted and found ways to make a ton of money by Game Pass and their best games being available everywhere. They lost the console wars with Xbox One. Just happy they found a solution instead of going under like a lot of people thought, and sadly, wished for. Their plan with Game Pass and their biggest games being available everywhere includes their console as well.. they're not going to abandon millions of people's libraries of games on console and expect to actually survive by alienating their only real fans. Some people so badly want Xbox to fail it's weird.
MS announcing Indie on PS5 right now is the right move. Let's say MS doesn't announce Indy for PS5 now and does it after the holidays. That would easily translate into the media decrying, "Indie was a failure; GamePass is cratering; Xbox gives up; Machine Games is on the chopping block." MS heads off the litany of negative perception by just fronting the PS5 release here. It's easier and there's no added negative media after the fact. Thank goodness media idiots don't run these PR decisions. This was the right choice.
All these shows and showcases have been pretty underwhelming the last few years. It’s either all these games look uninspiring and boring, chasing dumb dead trends, and no big AAA monster type hits. Other than the Xbox show this year, the rest has been quite dull imo. I am hyped for mafia tho, 1 is one of my favorite games of all time
This shit dragged so hard, free to play bull shit and early access for everything. These two hour showcases three times a year are becoming more and more of a waste
I honestly couldn't make it past 40 minutes. Going back and looking at the games I didn't see and only Civ 7 has any excitement from me. Infinity Nikki completely lost me. 2/10 for me
They're not trying to boost console sales. They lost "console wars" forever when Xbox One was a massive flop out the gate and everybody built their digital libraries elsewhere. It was the worst generation to lose as it was right when digital gaming took off. They're not going to win a substantial amount of people back over to owning Xbox consoles. They can however make a ton of money by Game Pass (and a lot of their best games) being available literally everywhere, eventually. And gamers win by more games available more places. Console sales will be down the list on what matters most to people, in the future.
@DeltronFF I guess my thing is why announce the port for ps5 so early? Why not try to at least let the game sell some consoles for you? Im just saying it's kind of a terrible business decision. Also, I wouldn't really call 50 million console sales a flop. That seems a little extreme lol
@@aaronallen5439 I mean, of course not a total flop.. just in the sense of 360/PS3 was competitive.. Xbox One/PS4 wasnt. you're going to have your longtime OG Xbox/360 fans who are going to buy the Xbox One no matter what. But PS4 probably around 120 million if I had to guess. It's a HUGE gap. Also, a lot of people bought Xbox One initially and throughout the generation, moved away to PC/PlayStation. As far as not announcing Indiana Jones for PS5 until AFTER it releases on Xbox.. I'm with ya.. I would love to hear the thought process on that. I'm sure they have one but I'd be interested to hear how it makes the most sense for them.

A lot of weight being placed on a game based on a film franchise where the last one was one of the biggest box office bombs in Disney history.

Would the ps5 release of Indiana Jones help it with the game awards next year of keeping it in people's minds?
The Indy to PS5 is the biggest indication that Xbox consoles are ending and Xbox will be solely a games publisher sooner rather than later.
They already announced a new console.
Only having ps and Nintendo in the console space is not good for competition, and will only hurt the consumer/gamers.

Yeah because Sony will demand dual sense features and VR support along with enhanced resolution support
