The guy working on RDNA4 RADV alraedy said that Videocodecs wont be available at all or perform poorly wuth RDNA4 at laucnh meaning ill need to switch to the Proprietary ones again.

About the constant AMD driver crashes, I've suffered from them, and by what I can understand they occur on older cards, like Vega / RX 500 and prior. It's actually not crashing, it's a driver timeout. For some reason, the timer which the driver counts down to measure if the GPU is responding doesn't work very well with older cards when they are running at capacity, they stop reporting accurately when at 100%, the driver thinks it's stuck, and restarts itself, even if everything is fine. It doesn't help that the drivers are kind of universal, and this timeout check is tuned to faster cards, so the driver expects quicker reports. You can actually stop the driver from restarting changing the regkey that specifies the amount of time for a timeout. My guess it's a bus limitation, if you use 100% of those older GPUs, video encoding, OBS previews and TH-cam videos stops / heavily skips frames. Maybe running at capacity makes them not communicate well with the driver.. none of this happens with RX5000+ series...

did you notice any difference in the 0.1% lows? thats the biggest concern i would have, with the pro drivers being more “stable” do they have better lows?
Hey Fabio hope you've been well bro. Thanks for covering this I've always been curious about the PRO drivers and how they perform in a real life setting. On my wife's graphic design rig I usually stick to nvidia GPUs but I've been thinking about giving her my 6800XT when I upgrade. Was curious how gaming would be for her if we used the work drivers instead of the gaming drivers....if it'd be as smooth for gaming as nvidia's work drivers. Looking good from your review.
Can you start including Ow2? Just a suggestion, its a wierd game performance wise for me and its also fairly popular still. (No need to answer if it happens it happens) Your still my amd guru.
I’ve also noticed the pro drivers work on gaming cards with AMD. I like how AMD allow this. Nvidia doesn’t allow pro Quadro drivers to be used on their GeForce gaming cards. GeForce drivers do woke in Quadro cards though, I recently tried this on my RTX A4000.

how would it not be real lol. It was presented on my latest 40 games video with the 7800XT. You're having crashes most likely not because of the drivers
Hello, my 7800xt constantly has a problem with resetting adrenalin settings and a black screen with a driver reset. Even if I leave the default settings and change only the fan slider, the driver resets. This has become especially common in cs2. I have tried 24.8.1 and 24.12.1 and older drivers like 24.3.1. How can this be fixed? I need the fans not to reset, which is why the hotspot is very high.
the AMD Pro Driver from the AMD website for the RX 6800 are the 22.Q4 -_- ( 2 years old driver ) anyway i will keep the adrenaline one up to date ... but i would have like to try them my OC on default profile always reset . the driver take looong to launch , some games profile arent reconize and diseapper/reset even after i made Adrenaline reconize them ... and its a W11 clean just reinstalled 2 weeks ago ( my Windows is always bugged after a big update all years so ... )
24.12.1 (and the previous one i think) has a problem with vram usage. Sometimes during the day the vram value in adrenalin is 0 (which is false inication) and power draw is 15 watts when pc is idle. Normaly it shows some value in vram and power draw is 5 watts. I have an rx 6600 and use windows 11.
Ah. I had to use the radeon pro graphics when 24H2 rolled out. Something with windows screwed up massively. I could install the radeon drivers, but every time i rebooted my PC windows would purge them. However the pro drivers wouldnt dump.
What do you think Fabio. I'm pretty okay with adrenalling Drivers, but it's true since September or October and even having last December AMD adrenaling drivers, even using DDU. I find that sometimes panel control get bugged and never open except: Task manager, end task: AMD host and later I try to launch panel again and now works. This keep happening to me and it's very uncomfortable that this happens, specially after some specific games it happens. Also if I try playing a videogame clicking un launch game in adrenaling driver, when I close the game, amd panel it doesn't detect that fail. And as I'm studying hardly in my programming homework, I didn't stop much to testing to share this is happening to me. Maybe I sent them a message in report tool, but I'm not sure. Tell them if you can. (And maybe it happens specially having voice suppresion ON in microphone with my dualsense)
Same here stable at current version 24.12.1, (mini ITX Build) gpu XFX QICK309 RX 7600XT 16GB and cpu Ryzen 5 7500F, average temperatures for both gpu & cpu 64°, Radeon Chill mode, set DRAM EXPO-6000 CL30, performance mode to agesa default, I'm getting average 100+ fps 1440p, Radeon chill mode+FSR average 180+ fps 1440p, FSR+AFMF2 average 220+ fps 1440p, average frame time 5.2ms
for me, adrenalin keeps crashing for no reason, maybe half the time i want to open the app, it straight up doesn't work and i have to kill the background process and re-launch it (it might be linked to steamVR but it's been a while that i have this bug)
I definitely need to try the pro driver.. I got a 7900xt TUF recently, and where before, on my 7900gre everything was fine, with the 7900xt I keep getting driver crashes at idle.. I've done a lot of stuff in order to try to fix it, but without success. I have a new system and everything was working fine before, so I believe it's a GPU fault, either hardware or software. I will try the pro driver and hope for the best really. If not I think I might send the GPU back unfortunately..
Hey man, could you test the following: use the lossless scaling, rendering on a dedicated gpu, but the fake frames being done by the igpu(like a vega 7 from a ryzen 5 or similar) and on the windows 10? I know it is possible, I saw some videos and tutorials, on windows 11 seems to be easier, but on windows 10 we.have to edit the registry( and the entries that we have to edit does not exist in mine for some reason, should I create one?how do I do it?)... And, if I am not mistaken, the hfmi should be conected to the motherboard(so the final image comes from the igpu)... Really complicated...
Well... if the pro drivers are offering all the features and performnace from the regular ones but with added stability... what´s the point of the regular drivers anymore ?
Do you think the AMD 9070xt has the performance around the 5080 ithink it doesnt i hope so, i will get the card but if it foesnt have that perf no thnx.
Anyone has the same feeling that Adrenaline is a bit laggy and choppy? Especially when scrolling through options and sometimes software has hard time to just open and i have to wait like 20 seconds.

So I don't know about Darktide, but maybe you have that option too in the in game graphic settings. The other thing that was mentioned was to turn off smart access memory.
With the normal driver I always noticed very little stability, the day I decided to install the pro driver, everything was too fluid, too stable, how much I struggled for the solution to be so simple (RX 6750 XT)
great I guess
does this apply to the pro 24.Q.1? cause i need to try AFMF2 but i'm stuck to 24.5 (afmf 1) due problems with all newer ones.
@@robertdelirio2242 I have 24Q4 installed (10/29/2024) and I have AFMF2, but in my case I don't use any of those technologies, the only thing I use is the anti lag and the Sharpening filter, I never had a decent experience with frame generation, removing the ones integrated in games [silent hill 2, although with optimization mods I could play it without problem only with TSR]
Good idea to try the pro drivers for my Vega 64. Now downloading...
Question: do you encode this with highest quality, because I can not see the details in your skin, normally I can see it in 4K, it looks rather like 1080p.
Otherwise interesting video. I guess gamers should stick with the Adrenalin
did you notice any difference in the 0.1% lows? thats the biggest concern i would have, with the pro drivers being more “stable” do they have better lows?
Not really
@ thanks!
I might switch.... for the Blue UI on the software 😂😂
I have 7600XT and what is by you the best choice driver to use of these two?
Hey man i have a problem that i had for months and I can’t find a solution, whenever i move my mouse and keyboard at the same time the game is unsmooth even with high fps , but i move the mouse or keyboard alone there is no issue, i tried everything but nothing worked can you please tell me how to fix this?
I wonder if the Stalker 2 data would reflect all RDNA3 cards? Man that's my only hang up switching drivers with my 7900xt/7800x3d. Stalker 2 is a favorite rn i wouldn't want to hurt performance. Good video though.
I believe so, at least for anything above the 7700XT
Agh god dammit. Now I gotta go test out the pro drivers on all my rigs to see for myself.
this is what I'm waiting for. pro driver with afmf2
Do pro drivers work with the 7700 xt? Would love to try them out
Say if my Adrenalin app has this "Record & Screen feature not showing" thing, will it be fixed completely on the PRO app?
(My Rig: ASUS TUF A16 Advantage Laptop [FA617NT]; Ryzen 7 7735HS + Radeon 680M iGPU + Radeon RX 7700S dGPU)
Can you do video again how to oc ram but with dram calculator and typhon burner❤its much eazy to oc but it will take less time than you manually oc and testing it if its stable
Where do you even get the Pro drivers, I can't find them lol... I've been trying to get multi-gpu support working for LLMs and figured I may as well try the Pro but I can't find it.
Edit: Nvm found em, didn't fix anything.
Would be cool to see a 7900xtx and mid and low settings with super high frame rates and see how those could differ, here was all high settings
that was done in the previous video
Gotta go see that then!@@AncientGameplays
Hi fabio bro if possible could you make a updated video regarding which driver is best for each gpu in 2025 similar to one u did before ?
bro posted romanian video from my football team Craiova
Cum se numeste videoul?
is it advisable to use the newest PRO drivers on my RX5700 non XT?
watch the video and see
@@AncientGameplays watched your vid of course but did my own testing seems to me that for my older card the 22 Q4 PRO seem to be better than the newest adrenaline or PRO
Any one facing issues with the recent windows update...like few days back i was on 23h2 with the latest update for it...when I updated to 24h2...first problem i faced was my gpu wasn't being detected by msi afterburner...amd software was also not launching....says its not compatible with the current windows version...i own a saphire pure rx 7800xt btw...any help is appreciated..thanks
if still on win 11 24H2, go system > display > graphics . . .
- optimizations for windowed games = turn off
- go advanced graphics settings
-- hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling = turn off
-- variable refresh rate = turn off
@@tyu657 nah i downgraded...everything's fine for now...wont be updating till late feb 😂..thanks for the info tho
I already forgot that AMD can be blue 🤣😂 Thanks Fabio for reminding me 👍
Ciekawy materiał dobra znaleziona luka jeżeli to faktyczna to w 2026 będzie opłacac się lepiej instalować Pro , chyba że AMD pójdzie w ślady Nividi i stycznie będzie ograniczać adrenalinę 😅😮
Updated my driver for my rx 7600 now i cant load a single game after the new driver update ive tried ddu updated my chipsets and my windows and still will not let me load a single game idk if its me or amd
is that example of the finals real I happen to have crashes since recently rx5700xt
how would it not be real lol.
I need the fans not to reset, which is why the hotspot is very high.
enable "fast boot" in BIOS settings and enable "fast boot" in control panel/power options
the AMD Pro Driver from the AMD website for the RX 6800 are the 22.Q4 -_- ( 2 years old driver )
anyway i will keep the adrenaline one up to date ... but i would have like to try them my OC on default profile always reset . the driver take looong to launch , some games profile arent reconize and diseapper/reset even after i made Adrenaline reconize them ... and its a W11 clean just reinstalled 2 weeks ago ( my Windows is always bugged after a big update all years so ... )
If you google RN-PRO-WIN-24-Q4 you get the newest one he's using in the video
24.12.1 (and the previous one i think) has a problem with vram usage. Sometimes during the day the vram value in adrenalin is 0 (which is false inication) and power draw is 15 watts when pc is idle. Normaly it shows some value in vram and power draw is 5 watts. I have an rx 6600 and use windows 11.
Could you test nvidia studio drivers vs game ready drivers please.
Ah. I had to use the radeon pro graphics when 24H2 rolled out. Something with windows screwed up massively. I could install the radeon drivers, but every time i rebooted my PC windows would purge them. However the pro drivers wouldnt dump.
just use DDU, it blocks windows on that
thanks
That's so weird, I was just wondering about this
0:29 Nice joke man, actually wasn't ready for this one! 😂
No Issues here with normal driver - RX 7800 XT from XFX - MERC 319 card. CPU is 5800X3D.
Same here stable at current version 24.12.1, (mini ITX Build) gpu XFX QICK309 RX 7600XT 16GB and cpu Ryzen 5 7500F, average temperatures for both gpu & cpu 64°, Radeon Chill mode, set DRAM EXPO-6000 CL30, performance mode to agesa default, I'm getting average 100+ fps 1440p, Radeon chill mode+FSR average 180+ fps 1440p, FSR+AFMF2 average 220+ fps 1440p, average frame time 5.2ms
0:00 Cruyf with lion before the rx 9080 xt release
It s not cruyf😂
@@MarinGabriel I really don't know who is because he looks familiar😅
People always ask for the Pro Drivers good to have info.
for me, adrenalin keeps crashing for no reason, maybe half the time i want to open the app, it straight up doesn't work and i have to kill the background process and re-launch it (it might be linked to steamVR but it's been a while that i have this bug)
It is most likely windows, or you need a clean drivers install with DDU
I definitely need to try the pro driver.. I got a 7900xt TUF recently, and where before, on my 7900gre everything was fine, with the 7900xt I keep getting driver crashes at idle.. I've done a lot of stuff in order to try to fix it, but without success. I have a new system and everything was working fine before, so I believe it's a GPU fault, either hardware or software.
I will try the pro driver and hope for the best really. If not I think I might send the GPU back unfortunately..
I believe that you either have a faulty GPU, or you should really clean install those drivers to begin with
@AncientGameplays I used ddu everytime and also and cleanup tool everytime I installed the drivers.
New features come to them first and game optimizations as well
Do you think the AMD 9070xt has the performance around the 5080 ithink it doesnt i hope so, i will get the card but if it foesnt have that perf no thnx.
It is around the 7900xtx and 5080 in some cases, not all
I own a 7800 xt and I love it. I'm curious though on the driver's in regards to stability. I may look into pro
Anyone has the same feeling that Adrenaline is a bit laggy and choppy? Especially when scrolling through options and sometimes software has hard time to just open and i have to wait like 20 seconds.
Been crashing with 24.12.1 quite often and had to downgrade to 24.9.1 which has stopped it. Adrenaline is a little delayed aswell, running a 6950XT
clean install the drivers to begin with, and make sure the rest of your system is stable (CPU and RAM)
Do these perform better on dx12 with minimal stutters? or is it just like the normal adrenaline drivers performance wise?
Minimal stutters should be norm. You might have issues there
@@AncientGameplays Yeah I know the minimal stutters are normal but idk if its a game issue or driver issue that it stutters more than normally when installing a new driver. Its only dx12 supported games that give me abnormally large stutters the first 30 mins then its micro stutters with some larger ones here and there.
doing one for g-helper?
My AMD Adrenalin works fine, but i will give this a try!
not the romanian lion clip :D
