You'd be surprised at how diverse and heavy the styles are that comprise the Babymetal repertoire. One thing is for sure, this song has peaked the interest of such a wide range of musical fans. From young ladies who are just getting into heavy metal to old dudes that have been around since heavy metal was in its infancy. This song brings us all together! RATATATA!!
Good reaction. It is very understandable that you like or dislike something and it is necessary to respect it, because we are all different in some way. On the other hand, it is impossible for most metalheads who have never heard or given BabyMetal a chance at the time to understand, without doing a little research, what the birth of the group meant in Japan. It was a time when Metal was in full decline (Japan is a pop country, not metal) and the audience was increasingly older. The appearance of BabyMetal, being a group of metal idols (idol groups are normally oriented to J-Pop), attracted a huge group of young people who had never approached metal through a variation that they created and call them Kawaii Metal (Cute Metal) fusing heavy music with pop voices, although SuMetal's voice has a lot of power. It was this fusion and rapprochement that revived metal in Japan, giving rise to the emergence of new bands with younger audiences and the international projection that BM gave to Japanese metal.
I am more of a EC fan than Babymetal, but if you want "blow me away" check out Babymetal videos that are specifically live performances. Babymetal is the girls and when they perform they have a backing band. For the live stuff, it is the Kami Band. That band only does the live performances and they are phenomenal. A personal favorite which highlights the musicians is 'Rondo of Nightmare' Live at Budokan Black Night where they do the Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro. Also, if you are a Dragonforce fan at all, 'Road of Resistance' is a good one that sounds a lot like a Dragonforce song and has a high level of skill to the instrumentals, because Sam and Herman wrote the guitar parts for the song. Herman Li said on his stream that they actually wrote it to be especially difficult to play and that the Kami Band guitarists worked their asses off to perfect it.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。(FYI, BABYMETAL performed in your country last year, 3 times in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.) I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 (Japan time) . Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same day in the same place at Rock AM Ring in EC's homeland?
🪩 ❤❤ 🦊 🔌 BABYMETAL played at the Good Things Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in 2018, and came back for headlining shows in the same three cities last year.
This is the most poppy thing Babymetal has ever done. If you seen them a few years back you might want to see how they've matured, now in their 20's they have been a group for 14 years, more than half their life. They run the whole gamut of metal sub genres with the band laying down some of the most crushing metal there is.
4:35 Reaction start Welcome back to BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥 Last weekend they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab, pretty sure it's gonna be the hit of this 2024 summer. Hopefully they will play this at Download Festival too or any other festival. Polyphia were also there playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this. Next suggestion to meet another super collab they did recently: - METALI!! feat. Tom Morello official MV or better yet official live. - F.Hero x Bodyslam x BabyMetal - Leave It All Behind official MV. Hope to see you around with more BM songs. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭

Good reaction. Absolutely right, this is a fun song, but make no mistake, although both bands like to make music people can enjoy and they make music they like, both are very serious about the quality of their music and performances and, as you thought, both put on great live shows. BABYMETAL are very misunderstood ... mainly by people who haven't seen them live. They are very different, but they are original and unique and the lead vocalist Su-metal is incredible. They don't follow the usual traditions etc, they do things their own way. About 70 songs now and each one different to the last. Try 'Mirror Mirror' live at PIA Arena April 2023 ... I think you will be surprised.
I love that you mentioned the pre-cut walls! In the behind the scenes, EC, while they absolutely got along AMAZING with the girls and the BM crew, and love them, that they had ONE TAKE for each "wall-breaking" scene. 😅🙂 Loved your reaction, your open-mindedness, and honestly, also been going through an EXTREMELY rough patch myself this past 3 weeks. I hope you are doing better, my guy. Life can throw a lot at you, but your positivity is what matters. Liked, subbed, wishing you the best, and waiting for more videos :)
I forgot her name but she screams in this as well at some point which is wild because I thought is was Electric Callboy! Babymetal definitely has some bangers. Kingslayer is a song they do with Bring me The Horizon and it’s fricken awesome! Should check it out if you haven’t yet!
I swear Babymetal creates new synapses in the brain haha. They were built on the juxtaposition of truly dark heavy metal with cute J pop singing and dancing on top of it. Saw them twice in Texas last year, im 47 and easily the best live performances I've ever seen!
Always funny to see someone seeing BabyMetal for the first time. If you had any idea how phenomenal successful BabyMetal have been for the last ten years, you would need to be sitting down. 😀 BabyMetal is a Japanese band and Electric Callboy are a German band. They both mange to sing in English very well.
Hey Old Metalhead, great reaction. You have a lot of good suggestions for Babymetal songs to look at, so I won't go there. However, I have to say that you will understand them better in their own space, not so much a collaboration. Has Babymetal toured in Australia, you ask? Yes, the last time was in 2023 as part of their world tour for The Other One album release. I was fortunate enough to see them in Brisbane on that tour and, whilst the show was scaled down in lighting, stage and effects from their massive Japanese concerts, I felt the 3,500 crowd at the Brisbane show was far more intimate. I was on a balcony and would have been 30 to 40 feet from the stage. I had an unimpeded view for the entire show of all members of the band and Babymetal out front. I reckon that the sound of the band, and the performance of the girls was as good as the big Japanese shows. In fact, I think I prefer this intimacy more. They also played in Sydney and Melbourne on this tour. Babymetal aren't your normal metal band, and that is the reason why they have millions of fans worldwide; they are different. A lot of older metal fans recoil at them because they don't fit their idea of what a metal band is. Often, reactors suggest that Babymetal should do the things that other bands do; but this would just make them like all the other bands. However, Babymetal has not followed a traditional musical path and remain true to their task of embracing difference and to their goal of enticing new fans to the metal genre with their crossover and inclusive style. I hope you will check them out more. It won't impact me if you don't, however, if you keep an open mind, I reckon it will be a positive influence on your TH-cam musical journey.
Plenty more metal women from Japan ;) - Hanabie - We Love Sweets MV - Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath live (got their name from the Halestorm song) - Nemophila - Revive live - Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday MV - Aldious - Go Away MV - Fate Gear - Unbreakable Wings MV - PassCode - TRACE (live at Studio Coast, 2016) - Otoboke Beaver - Don't Light My Fire MV - Mary's Blood - Marionette MV - Gacharic Spin - I Wish I MV - Destrose - Maze MV - Maze - Idol Riot MV - Mardelas - Patriot Anthem MV - Trident - Kickass MV - Bridear - Still Burning MV
Well... This song, shurely, isn't the most sophisticated, but it's outright fun! But if you in for more intricate stuff you may find some good specimens in the BABYMETAL catalog. The prime examples, of course, would be "Tales of the Destinies" (in terms of instrumentation) and "From Dusk Till Dawn" (when it comes to vocals) but there is so much more (four studio albums and some "irregular" tracks to explore)... But make shure and go with the live stuff!
Electric Callboy is hilarious, they always make over the top silly videos but they also are highly skilled musicians and that juxtaposition is part of the charm. Babymetal is normally a lot more "serious" with their videos, like they dance but they dance... seriously? So seeing them goofing off like in that little karaoke scene is a rare thing that certainly was influenced by the collab with EC.
It's fun. Music hasn't been fun for awhile. I like people who are clever with lyrics and videos. EC take their musicianship very seriously, themselves, not so much. In that respect, The Darkness does the same. Funny as hell. Great musicians.
Babymetal- road of resistance live in Japan. Thank me later. 😂 amazing band. PS- watch for copyright strikes my friend. :) Much love and subscribed for the journey. This isnt a great introduction to what babymetal can do. Babymetal live shows are otherworldly.
Thats a banger. Both production staffs demonstrated that they know what they are doing. This is a 50/50 Collab. Well the Production meeting was probably a Meeting of Amuse and KobaMetal who tried to convince them that he wanted to make metal with some of the idols and they fought against this idea however they could. And this Song has according to Tank 3 to 4 Hooks.
Really fun song that reminds me of NanowaR of Steel's "Disco Metal". Of course NanowaR of Steel is mostly a more sophisticated humour and heavier instrumentals. Great reaction🤘❤️🔥🤘 🥰🥰Hugs from an old Metal Dimash Dear from Canada🇨🇦
Nice reaction. BABYMETAL was in Australia last year, with Reliqa as their opening act. For BABYMETAL, I would suggest recent live performances of Road of Resistance, Monochrome, and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts.
I like this track - it's great fun but not exactly representative of BM - a lot of English (not best for her voice) and very pop like (especially with the new costume which for me is....a bit much :P)- but great for exposing them to more people. They're usually a LOT heavier than this. Try them LIVE (but not "official") - good reaction & more please :)
LOL OMG. These two bands have been flooding my feed and I've stubbornly avoided them. Only watching cuz old man is watching 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Still processing..... no opinions yet. 😂 disco-metal...ish, sorta? 🤔fun and entertaining though.
I doubt you watch Eurovision, but I know it is shown is Ausie as you have an entry each year. This song could easily have been Germany's entry for EV and would probably win. Fun fact: The voice growling the second "are you ready" at 8:30 is one of the girls.
Good reaction. It is very understandable that you like or dislike something and it is necessary to respect it, because we are all different in some way.

I don't understand why im liking it so much 😂 RATATATATATAAA
It seems both EC and BM wrote their own hooks and then smashed them together, so the whole song is nothing but hooks. 😆
The hooks have barbs that don’t pull out 👊🏽⚡️🤘🏾🦊
I'm just repeating a comment i saw on another post of this song..."So much better than the last time Germany and Japan got together" 😅😆 .
Dang, I really dig your style!
Ah a fellow canberra person. Addicted to every reaction of this song lol
Really fun song that reminds me of NanowaR of Steel's "Disco Metal".
Of course NanowaR of Steel is mostly a more sophisticated humour and heavier instrumentals.
