ABC 123 fairly late here, but I agree - not all of them, but def an easy-description of what he had to do to get the job done.
I’m sure it was far more technical in terms of breaking down what he had to do to win every second during that fight. Seeing him here among people who can see reason behind TRUE boxing is a blessing. No wonder he’s so relaxed answering these questions!

Mayweather's style was the perfect balance of defensively-minded offense, amd offensively-minded defense, and switched modes so seamlessly that when he was offensive, he seemed defensive, and that when he was defensive, he tagged you so cleanly and crisply that his little pull counters, check hooks and dirty inside rough-house tactics would escape the untrained, low-IQ-boxing-fan's eye, all whiles being able to closed, created and controlled distance so masterfully, as if he was a mind reader. People often didn't know what they were watching.
•$• He walked down a Miguel Cotto who was at his strongest weight and dominated him.
•$• He took Mosley's best shot and almost got knocked down but instead, had his inner lion awakened and walked down a perplexed Mosley for pretty much 10 rounds straight.
•$• He controlled Pacquiao, so much that one of the best fighters of recent history looked average. Pacquiao looked average against him. Average. Pacman who roughed up Thurman as an old man he was that good.
•$ He made a mockery out of Canelo. And it had nothing to do with weight. Canelo could barely get near to him. He wasn't just beaten but it was pretty humiliating to the point it looked like a mismatch.
•$• He lured De La Hoya into traps and broke De La Hoya down the stretch. De La Hoya was strong, fast, aggressive, fighting at his comfortable weight...and Mayweather made Oscar hesitate in coming in, the more straight rights he ate in the rounds, and the more energy he wasted in chasing an almost impossible to hit and hurt target.
•$• He warred with Judah until Judah became a prisoner of war.
•$• He beat Castillo one handed in their first fight and then mocked Castillo in their second fight.
•$• He tamed the bull in Chino in arguably one of the toughest fights of the latter half of his career.
•$• He shut out, lured, bullied and crushed Hatton, assinating the hitman with bullet after bullet, seizing the British boxer's unbeaten record and adding its first blemish.
•$• Need I mention Gatti, Chop Chop, Marquez, Diego Corrales, Augustus, Guerrero and more?
Guillermo Rigondeaux and other defensive wizards are textbook defensive. Lomachenko, again, superb offensive-defense. Mayweather, however, created his own book, combining techniques from Duran, James Toney (Floyd is lying if he says he never stole elements from Tony's off-the-ropes aggressive-offensive-defensive-counter-punching-philly-shell game), Bernard Hopkins, Pernell Whitaker, Chavez Sr, Ali, Archie Moore, Roy Jones...and uncle Roger and his dad. People didn't know which tactics Mayweather used because he honed multiple styles in order to craft his own, meaning he was almost impossible to train for:
    • Aggressive inside fighters; he answered with inside tricks, including his elbows
    • Come forward, power punchers; he diffused.
    • Got Speed? His timing nullified you
    • Slickness? Not many in the game have ever come close to the genius movement of Whittaker, so Floyd made sure noone Pernelled better than him
    • Awkward and unorthodox? He would take you to school
Noone prepared for or had answers like he did. Not SRL, not Duran, not Hearns, not Hagler, not Tyson or even Ali. He took the best out of the best's games and became a game changer as far as being the best defensive/offensive fighter to be so rarely hit that commentators and fans got excited if they even saw blood or a clean shot land. And he was so good that people called and still call him boring.
When the biggest in-the-ring adversity was taking his first, fully flush punch, in the second round, seeing his legs wobble, only to come back and not only win the round but shut Mosely down from that round onwards... we've lost a legend to retirement, and may only see fragments of his genius in Boots Ennis and Shakur Stevenson.

@ArtemisFowl and SchoolRumble fan-club How did you score it? Strangely enough i thought it was a draw. I slowed the fight down and took my time carefully watching the impact and accuracy of the punches thrown by each fighter. Takeaway? Floyd was more accurate but his punches never moved Manny. Manny was less accurate but his punches really moved Mayweather. Both fighters seemed to land close to as many punches, but they were thrown by each fighter with vastly different styles. This fight really confused me. I really couldnt see either opponent being defintitively victorious. So in my mind, i said draw--but in my heart of hearts--I still think Pacquiao. I just really admire his risks in the ring. Unbelievable that he went out like that against his biggest fight

If you read the guys comments above, he put real facts for you and you come here speaking opinions lol. The fight be slowed down and every single punch being counted tells the real story. Manny had more active hands and was the ring general because he pushed the action. Floyd lost that fight but won because it was held in his own backyard. Manny wanted the fight in Macau. It would make business sense because Macau has been generating more revenue than Vegas by a landslide ever since it opened. Floyd needs every advantage he can get. Ever notice how big the ring was? It was huge compared to normal size rings. Why? So Floyd can run and avoid Manny easier. Anyone who thinks Floyd really won had some financial stakes involved for Floyd to win, or is either black, or has some internal issues with Manny being an All Time Great

@@IsraelTheChosen idiot. Manny is a southpaw and it is easier to connect left hand on an orthodox opponent. Floyd somehow did philly shell when he was at a comsiderable distance from pac, but once pac gets closer, floyd either clinch or go full defense (both arms cover).
Oscar is a rightie. His power punch (right) finds it hard to penetrate the shell defemse due to the shoulder covering. For lefties like pac, philly shell is a perfect angle to launch that left.

He's not the icon of Boxing. People hate him because his fighting style is not a real fighter. He uses his defense style the most rather than the offensive style and makes wins. Unlike Pacquiao, the people impressed how great he was. Pacquiao was not a cherry picker. Whatever the promoter said he obeyed it and fought who's opponent was available.

All i saw was Manny spending most of the fight chasing Floyd and running into his punches. That fight with manny is the fight that I finally gave manny full respect. I thought he was using Steroid all along because of Mayweather accusation, turned out he was so very very skilled an equal or more to Floyd. When you watch the fight now that all things have calm down. You could see floyd can't hit him. he is indeed crafty, fought floyd's style and yet floyd can't hit him. Suddenly he had become a defensive genius in that fight. We are all so focus on manny not hitting floyd, but now that everything has calmed down, watch the tape and you could see floyd hardly hit him. That is no steroid power, that is pure SKILL. His reflex are so phenomenal, he could counter floyd with a lead left, that's a detail a casual would not notice. He could match floyd timing by timing, position by position, accuracy by accuracy, elusiveness by elusiveness. There is nothing floyd could do that manny does not do well. That's why the fight because ugly because they are both so superlatively great that they cancelled both each other out.

Not true. Manny is very good but he is neither equal nor better than Floyd. Floyd caught him many times with really hard shots. Manny only caught Floyd with the single clear punch whose clip all you Manny fans love to show. Manny was made to look very average that night, and the three rounds out of 12 that he won were actually every round they could have awarded him - not necessarily because he deserved them, and he still lost by 9 rounds out of 12! People thinking this guy is the best ever, are blown. Most accomplished boxer ever? possibly. But not even close to being the best boxer ever. Not even half his fights are knockouts/TKOs. He picks fighter WHEN HE wants to fight them. He delayed Pacquiao ti'll he had lost 40% of his speed. He fought Canelo at such an early age he lacked experience. If he fought Canelo around this time, the fight would look totally different. He simply lost to Castillo. Don't believe me? go watch the fight.
And yet people call this TBE? omg... go watch Lomachenko, go look at how he mentally destroy his opponents, go look at GGG, how he punches their faces into the next universe. Look at the speed of Pacquiao from 2000-2010.
Floyd did fint a loophole. How he can hold out and use the clock as his friend in a boxing match. So for that I respect him, how composed he is. But he lost possibly 4 fights of his career, and if anything the corrupted judges ALWAYS had his back, ready to put some fake points up in this bitch. How can anyone possibly say he has the best footwork they've ever seen? the best punches? best accuracy? strongest chin? hardest puncher? He might have the best defence. But that's it. People call him the best ever cuz he's ON PAPER, 50-0. Get your finger out of his ass. I'd put in on top 15 best boxer of all time. Not even close to top 5. That's the truth, deal with it.

Floyd is not boring. He was NEVER a boring fighter. But the media conditioned our minds to think and believe his style of fighting is boring. These same media and fans who says Floyd is boring is praising other defensive greats like Pep, Locche, Whitaker and Zapata. In fact, I believe that there's no boring fighter. There's only bad or lazy media or promotion. Most media today, if not bias and/or paid, are so lazy to promote a boxer or make the fans appreciate a boxers. In the old days, commentary like Don Dunphy will make any fight interesting even if it's against two defensive boxer. But today, no one do that.

All Manny and Roach had to do in 2009 was agree to random blood testing. That's it. IT. There is even a video from this same Q&A that goes over it in case you slept on this drama a decade ago. I'm not being disrespectful, but I've read, watched, and heard far too many perspectives about that situation to be convinced otherwise. And honestly, I don't blame anyone who suspected Manny of potentially juicing. I am not saying I 100% believe he did, but at the same time, I remember Pacquiao in the late 90's-early 2000's when he was 126 lbs when he was all speed and volume. Then all the sudden in 2008 he balloons up to 147 and begins an epic run of starching the biggest names between Oscar, Shane, etc., showing more power and pop than ever before? It's a little odd. I love watching him and respect Manny as a bonafide great of his generation, but I also understand why there was suspicion -- though one could argue a guy no longer killing himself to make weight is a huge benefit in terms of health and power.

Boxing ability aside, it's interesting to observe the mindset of a tireless self-promoter. When he is asked to name his toughtest opponents, that is tacitly taken by Mayweather to be a way for him to promote them. When he has given those opponents their props he realizes that he cannot leave it at that and so he must self-promote and reiterate his supriority over all of those opponents.

Mayweather lost to Manny. Floyd ran and held every round, knowing that he was going to win a decision if he stayed on his feet. Mayweather Productions hired the punch star guy and the judges. Nothing was left to chance for Floyd wanting to stay undefeated. So he cheated. Manny beat Floyd easily. Deep down, though he'd never admit it, Floyd knows he lost. A fighter knows. Like Manny said after the fight, "he didn't do anything".
