Thank you. You just answered a question in two minutes that I’ve been seeking to find an answer for, for longer than an hour. I was trying to find the reason my thermometer was not reading. I was trying to replace a battery but not finding anything online or in the manufacturers book. Solar! 🎉 Good luck in your bbq comps. I’m actually a comp judge. Thank you again.
you are welcome. I have come to not really go off of the internal thermometer. There have been times when it would read anywhere from 130 to 170 degrees, but my Maverick would be sitting at 150 the whole time.
@@guitarwilly81 the vent is not very big and allows very little heat loss. So far my box has held between 149-152 for as long I keep it plugged in. When unplugged it takes about an hour, hour and a half to drop down to 140. When opened, it will heat back up to 150 in a few minutes.

That’s good extra info, thank you.
Probably the only helpful video out there about these two thank you! Have you tried seeing if the h series door fits the winco yet? Thanks
I tried, but the door does not line up correctly. The hinge placement is off just a little and keeps it from sealing.
@@HerbBaird Thank you for the speedy reply! 👍
Do you open the vent on the door when holding bbq? Say a brisket for 12+ hours
For a brisket I open it as I want to protect the bark. Ribs, chicken, etc I close it to hold in the moisture.
@@HerbBaird and it still holds temps even with the heat escaping?
