First off, thanks for this video, I'll try my luck with it.
I read a review on amazon showing a factory made cord collar and the D-ring had the split in it, so the dog pulled it apart. Buy the solid style D-ring and I myself will also buy metal buckles.
Thats what started this strong collar adventure for me, my dog saw a squirrel & snapped his plastic buckle harness like butter. Lucky we where not outside the fence yet or he may have been hit chasing it? Never again will he have a plastic buckle collar/harness witch is all I find btw. Pet supply companies dont care about our dogs safety, just how cheap they can sell the junk shit...Period!!

I made two of these for my dogs a few months ago,I have been wanting to make them again with glow in the dark cord.
glow in the dark cord (neon) - doesn't work at night.
you can tray "Glow In The Dark Mixed Colour Acrylic Pony Beads" - it might work
or mix the 2

No Im talking about glow in the dark cord not neon,it uses light to charge and glows green in the dark ,I found it at Michale's its about $8 for around I think 12'.you could probably get it cheaper.

I found that same cord and used it for a collar and 2 small braclets with the rainbow/white from Michaels, it all turned out amazing and works perfectly. I've had a problem with the melted ends staying together on the collar (I didn't melt right) so I have to redo it. But it does work and I love it.

With the buckle! I needed to redo mine because i measured w/o buckle and it was to large.

cool vid, mind covering a martingale collar too, they are better for my dogs since while at home they rest at the base of their neck, which is really fat compared to the top since their bassets and all the loose skin, compared to going out which is when we have it at the top, which if they decide to not move a normal collar will slip off over their head since their is an extreme size difference top of the neck to bottom... might be best with a chain to be the slip part since i doubt the para-cord will slide real well

Eli Call I partly understand why you find this funny, but goat owners do require collars to keep the goats in a certain area
I have no experience whatsoever with Goats, but I do know they can be a bit wild, so I'd suggest using a big collar, henceforth using a big buckle.

Its literally the exact same as if you were making a bracelet but longer and with the D ring. I tried this out with a few other of his bracelet tutorials and my dog looks great!

When I’m measuring, I measure the paracord to the length I want, but when complete it always ends up shorter - how much excess should I allow for this?

Yes
I dont want to be telling you how to train your dog, but prong collars are considered ineffective for dog training since they address the "symptom" instead of actually training them. Training, especially rewards based training is better than any kind of "training collar", since training collars are intended to cause discomfort or pain to the dog. NOT a valid training approach.
i have bought many paracord bracelets now i wanted to make a dog collar and leash
but i am not getting it I keep trying i bout my cord from army surplus its the reflective cord I have wasted about 30$ in cord and no counting how many buckles please help
That's good size for a chihuahua.
I would suggest a D ring on each side of the buckle in the event the buckle fails.

Its usually a 1foor to every 1inch ratio. So if the dog collar needs to be 7 inches long you would need about 7 feel of paracord
