Hi Justin, That was the first video I have seen showing a school of skipjack going after a herd of minnows. Great site to see. Then there was the night fishing saved by that final cat being a blue. You should have asked him what he thought he was doing hanging out with all those dag blasted channel cats. haha., Thanks
I took your advice and got a pee cup for the gulp minnows. No more leaks. Just looks funny when some one gets in my truck and they see the cup lol

Frog toggs if that's spelled correctly works really well so far, don't sweat in them like all plastic rain suits.
Get one of the small aerators that clip on the side of the bucket. Will keep them alive MUCH longer.

I couldn't get motivated this weekend. Got a front sitting over me and the last trip out I had a front spook all the fish away. Shoulda watched one of your old videos to get me motivated
Crickets flipped in under trees is my favorite to catch bluegill bait. Little bobber with about 2 feet of line to the hook. August is my worst month for catfish. The cicadas are singing. I think the fish eat them. And are not hungry.
Poncho.. Covers legs and all. I have hunkered down with poncho many many times.
We have fished for freezer cripples at night. Also. I throw catfish bait out to the edge of the light. Big flathead lurk out there attracted by the commotion.

When summer comes seems like you just about have to fish more at night time. The heat during the days just seems to turn them off so much it's hard to catch anything worth size or numbers. But occasionally it happens but seems like night time fishing is better during summertime.

Ive caught some channels that had black fungus looking stuff on them like that. Its pretty sure it's not normal or a coloration. I heard its from hog run off, but who knows. I saw a guy catch one with a lot on it, out of the IL river years ago.
Hey, I will take those channel cats any day! Those are big for being channels! Bigger than my PB, and she weighed about 7 pounds!
And the funny thing is, I caught that 7lb channel on a nightcrawler and a bobber using my ultralight setup. I was fishing for bluegill and she about spooled me, but I got her!

Get a two gallon bucket with a lid, drill holes in it and hang it off the side of your kayak. It's a bait tank while your fishing
