I thought of something diffrent when he said legendary, and i laughed so hard when he say magikarp.

for anyone saying the codes aren't working and wants help...
You're probably using the level modifier cheat using a normal counting system. You need to lookup a hexadecimal chart to compare to the number you want. He says, "the lvl modifier is not always correct...", but it's actually 100% correct. 25=37 in hexadecimal. for anyone whose game is just crashing, you are either entering like 99 or something really high (99 = 153 in hexadecimal), or you are forgetting the Master code or something
Geoff Kannenberg I've been having other issues. When I try to enter the master code, an error pops up that says 'This code seems to be for a different game'. Not sure why I am getting that

It will say that message if you are using a Gameshark Code while Action Replay is highlighted or vice versa. Also sometimes it just pops up at first, but then the codes still work
After almost 3h for trying to find cheats for my ROM, i finally found one that works so WELL. Thanks for everything mate, you're the best of the bests :D

To add items you have to use PC item modifier codes, I will upload a list about how to do it in a separate file (Link will be in the video description)

No bugs from VBA on the cheats department. The error you describe means you didn't input the codes properly, there's an incorrect format in the code you put in
Is there a code to not make it crash? Because every time I go to the pc, it crashes on my gba eluminator.
When I copy-paste the master code I found on internet into my cheat list, it only says; "Error Invalid [code] Supported formats are: "XXXXXXXX:YY, XXXXXXXX:YYYY and XXXXXXXX:YYYYYYYY" even though the formats clearly corresponds to it...
It does not work for me! When I enter the master code in the code field and submit the popup, I get the following two errors:
"Invalid GameShark code: 000A"
"Invalid GameShark code: 0007"
Then, in the cheat list, the codes appear WITHOUT the values (only 000014D1, instead of 000014D1 000A)
Every time I try to input the Master code, I get this message:
Warning: Codes seem to be for a different game.
Codes may not work correctly.

I have a problem. Whenever i put the master code and then whatever code i want to cheat with and press "ok" it doesn't configure. when i press the button it just like if you were to press the backspace button, but it doesn't do anything it just stays there. Any help?

I can't get the gameshark codes to work tried bulbasaur but all that is coming up is the normal pokemon that you would catch in the area

i did the squrtle cheat and now when i go into the grass all it is is squirtle even though i romoved all the codes. how do i fix this?
Shit doesn't work for me, just goes black screen if I try to find a lvl 25 bulb. in lvl 10ish grass. Is there only a certain area and lvl for starter pokemon cheats to work?

can someone PLEASE help me, this question does not refer to visual boy but an actual gameshark. all these codes in xxxxxxxx xxxx format make no sense. a gameshark requires xxxxxxxx codes. this is so confusing I am like pulling hair out. I told a friend of mine I would put some codes on his game and now it has become an obsession trying to figure this thing out. HELP PLEASE!!

the lvl you put is the level you encounter, but remember you are in hexidecimal-base 16, not base 10. In base 16 25 would give you 37.

To give everyone what they're looking for on VBA: Under the cheats tab, you need to first uncheck disabled at the bottom to use cheats. It took me over an hour to find that bs. Spread it to other youtube videos to save people this frustration.
When I do this, I use the super rod because I'm trying to get a staryu but then I catch a horsea and the game freezes.
It doesn't work for me I did everything you said, it just freezes my game whenever I go through tall grass. Any ideas?

It worked for like 5 minutes then when I tried to change the last 4 digits of the pokemon code it says invalid even though I'm using the right code then I removed them all to try again now it won't even let met put in the master code...

Um...this was very helpful and I nearly have everything down pat however...I do wonder perhaps if you can tell me this: some of the codes I want to use say Patch slot followed by a number of 1-4 and others say ROM Patch slot 1-4. how do I use these?
This is what I found via google for all the XXXXXXYYYYY error thingy:
First open the Rom.Then click 'Cheats' and point to 'Chat list...'.Thirdly click 'Gameshark' and put the gameshark code into 'Code' column.Lastly click 'OK' and 'ok' again to play.Believe me,it works.

i need hlp, im using gameboid version 2.4.7, and it is supposed to work with gameshark, code breaker, and action replay, however no codes i have found work, evan our and i folled the steps carefully and inputed the codes correctly, i evan made sure that the mastre codes were on first, but NOTHING WORKS ) : plz hlp im just spinning my wheels and getting nowhere. and is there something that im just not doing, other than wht u were doing because i did the exact thing but just on android.

I entered exactly what was shown, yet not only did I not get magikarp, once the battle started, the whole screen except the bottom (the text boxes) is red with white dashes all across it..... at least I got the item codes to work.
i downloaded the rom for fire red but it's not opening in the visual gba. I restarted the PC and the extraction went just fine. Help me man
