I've never seen anyone other than my dear sweet Mother cut large pieces of cabbage and fry it but you. She would fry, and smother the potatoes and onions though. That smoked salmon is beautiful. (Great presentation!) memories ❤
My mother fried her cabbage similarly... except she covered the pot and cooked it semi high for 7 minutes. 🙂 Her 7min cabbage!! It creates its own moisture so after about 3mins she would stir. After 7mins she would turn the fire off and just let it sit (basically still cooking). I cook it the same way today!! So bomb. Add bacon, onion, garlic in the beginning like the vid.

So glad I ran across this channel recently. I can’t help but stick around and not go anywhere! That ending shot of it all together made my mouth water and crave some smoked salmon and veggies. Great job and please keep em coming. I only have a 22” Weber Kettle, so nothing compared to all your collection, but I’ve learned some nice tips of the trade from you.

Beautiful meal. I like to use red wine vinegar with the red cabbage instead of white/clear but it all works ( keeps the red cabbage from turning blue). We call this bubble and squeak . Braised cabbage with onions and bacon.Delicious. Years ago while on the west coast, BC,Canada I was shown a little trick, add some brown sugar on top of your salmon before you smoke/cook it. Brings it to another level. Definitely leave the skin on. Amazing job brotherman love your cooking and love your style.

You're a man after my own heart, true old-school cooking. Everybody on TH-cam has to have a $15 bottle of rub or spice on every Steak and of course they're selling their own rubs and spices on their Channel. They cook anything if they don't put a $15 bottle of rub or spice on it and glaze it with an expensive bottle of Birch Syrup or some other exotic something or another. My Beautiful Wife Jennifer Dell (Married 30 years 1/16/93) fixes what she calls fried cabbage. It's just like what you fix here except all she uses is cabbage Kosher Salt, Fresh Cracked Black Pepper and sautés it in Butter in a big pot 'til kk Cooks down. Delicious much better than cabbage cooked in water. That's nothing but a soggy mess. I really love how you just put salt and pepper on your fish. You even take the time to put Less Salt on the thinner parts of the Fish 🐟, smart. I'm always telling people if you have high quality meat don't need to cover up the flavor with all these rubs, syrups and spices. All you need is salt and pepper because you want to taste the meat. If it's high-quality be it fish, beef, pork, or poultry you don't need all that junk you need to let the flavour of the meat itself shine. Why are you going to spend good money for high-quality meat then mask the flavor of it was something else? That's okay if you got some cheap meat that's not all that great and you're going to cover it up or when you're making barbecued ribs or chicken. You're going to put barbecue sauce on it. Other than that salt and pepper is all you need. I've said this for years. Finally somebody with some common sense. Thank you for your videos.
