    You forgot to mention that the city of Atherton was also involved in an ugly fight with Caltrain over electrification of the Peninsula Line between San Jose and San Francisco. But once they lost the case, it was only a matter of time before the station was finally closed.

    My home station. Grew up on 5th Ave in Redwood City. Closer to my house than R.C. station. Like Buckingham & NIcks (Menlo -Atherton High) song Never Going Back Again.

    Atherton is not quite the community that welcomes visitors by train… because trains brings the public. The city doesn’t even want to build housing because they crave the exclusivity and rising home values. Population will likely cease to grow in any significant capacity thus ridership will likely never grow as well.

      they will fill the center boarding platform with ballast
