Hi Richocoarm, I'm making a miniature diorama and I want to create an effect which looks like paint peeling off a wall. It involves painting the miniature walls with acrylic paint and then, once the paint is dry, painting liquid latex over the paint and letting that dry, and then gently rubbing the latex off the walls in places so that the paintwork appears to be peeling and old. I'll add other effects like fake dirt etc, but I need to find out what sort of latex I should buy for this project. If you can help me that would be fantastic. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia ❤
Hi @Richocoarm, Thanks for the video; it's helped me on a couple of pointers to make my masks better. Can I ask what release agent you'd recommend please? I've got a plaster mould, and stippling latex into it. I had tried a clear lacquer(spray-can), but the last mask still stuck in a couple of places (chin). Thanks
I generally useplenty of wax polish, not the spray can stuff. But leave it overnight to thoroughly dry before you buff it up. I've never had any thing stick when using that method. Hope this helps.
Hi @richocoarm - thanks for the useful video. My question is: can I apply liquid latex to a gym ball in overlapping sections 20x30 inches each, letting each section dry before adding the next. Will the new sections added adhere to the latex sections previously applied. I want to end up with an unbroken skin over the entire ball. PS I'm a printmaker and want to use the latex covered ball as a print matrix. Sorry so long - hope my question is clear :)
what is the exacet name of that latex? is that enamel latex or a paint latex or what i think there so may latex on it i want to buy latex but i dont know what type of latex that im going to buy
when making the face mask. i only have liquid latex and plaster gauss. can i reinforce the latex mask with the plaster gauss or will they not gell together? will that destroy it?
Aldo Vargas you should just get a brush you dont care about to use, a disposable brush, or soak the brush before and after with water and liquid dish soap
doing it this way you have to clean your brush EACH TIME you do a new layer, creating a huge amount of pollution and even if you don't care, it takes time, long time and thinners etc good luck with this way, I use no brush
My go to reference vid for Latex!
Excellent vid, informative and concise! Thanks.
all my doubts about this solved!!! thanks

I've applied liquid latex to an exercise ball before and didn't have any issues with applying multiple coats of the liquid latex.
Good Job. What is strengthen latex. Where can I buy that?
To keep the mold for future use , sprinkle it with plenty of talc
The fabric makes it stronger right? Can you keep layering until it's say 3/8 inch thick? (I'm not making a mask. It's for something different.)
Really helpful, thank you.
whats the correct name for the gauze???
that music is insane.
Where do you buy the latex? I wanna make masks and the mold is ready but I need the latex.
Check out the website monster makers that's were I get mine from.

What kind of silicone mould did you use? Where did you get the kit?
Hi how you clean the brush after the latex is dry .
Aldo Vargas you should just get a brush you dont care about to use, a disposable brush, or soak the brush before and after with water and liquid dish soap
can you just pour it into a silicone mold, will cure in to a solid object????
Shirley McWilson no it won’t dry
I thought latex couldn't cure in silicone?
Yeah I have a question.. is it possible to make long gloves of liquid latex ?
yes
What thin fabric did you use?
What did you actually make from the mould pulls?
I've tried to do the same thing but the latex beads up on the silicone and runs right off..are you using a different kind of latex ? if so what kind ?
titan Gel
Is it slush latex on just regular latex?
