The interview is sponsored by our friends at newmarkwatchcompany.com/ who produce the 6BB pilot watch that was originally given to RAF aircrew in 1980, now you can own a piece of history with a modern day revival!
My father was subjected to a Bucc attack while onboard an RFA. The crew were given advanced warning and everyone was on deck, eyes peeled, watching the horizon, but no one saw them coming. Two Buccs flew over his head out of no where, so low that they passed between the deck cranes and the main mast. And then they were gone.
JP is one of the best interviewees I've ever heard. He seems to be the whole deal. The combo of Mike and JP is, and has to be, the greatest meld of package and theory ever. These are the kind of interviews that make me so proud. Long may it continue.
Another cold war classic that was unable to land at a respectable speed without a runway a million miles long and a drag parachute. Apart from that It flew ok most of the time.
Pah! FJ vs truckies. No chance. A few sIlly week girlie squadron drinks a song or 3 then vomit and bed time. Then it's time for the truckies to do the grown up stuff! Normally downtown though.
Great interview 👍🏼 Love listening to the experiences that the aircrews have been through. Would be great to be working with this kind of forward looking company (attack - not defence). All the best - from George in Scotland 🫡

Pair him with Paul tremelling and the double bill would’ve just spot on
I think another 100 or so episodes with Jon Parker would be good for a start. What an absolute legend!!
He is indeed!
Agreed. Great stories, clearly told, no fuss!

Could Listen to this guy talk buccaneers for hours, what a career

Many thanks!
I think Jon enjoyed his time on the Bucc
@@bsport131 I think you’re right!
Remember Jon well from his time at RAF Lossiemouth
Brilliant from JP 😊
Funny as. Cheers for another great pair of episodes. Loving the humanity behind the airplanes these videos show.
Cheers!
Superb. This fella is some raconteur 👍
Certainly is.
That 6BB is a sure thing for my left wrist very soon, quality endorsement.
@@bensmith7536 you won’t be disappointed. Been on my wrist for weeks now.
Legend! Hilarious as ever but so informative
Thanks phor a great interview with John! I hope he is on the channel again.
Cheers
What a legend - great story teller.
Thank you Jon , brilliant
What a Legend 👏
Excellent interview. As someone with defence research experience, Flyby's ethos sounds like a breath of fresh air.
Thank you
Superb!
Love all the AI interviews but I reckon JP rivals Starbaby for entertainment banter.
Cheers gents.
Cheers
I know the Bucc was an old bird but I think he was referring to the Leander, F38 "Arethusa" not the PN 26 1933-4. shown.😉
Yep. My mistake on that one.
Halifax, CFB Shearwater?
Someone should document the Buccaneer songs before they're forgotten.
I have the book written by David Herriot called “ The Buccaneer Songbook”
Could listen to you both chat for hours but sorry Mike, wrong HMS Aresthusa! You’re after the post war Leander Class Frigate. Love an irritating WAFU.
Cheers. Ha yep my mistake there.

Did you fly the Bucc?
@@Aircrewinterview Only in VR, and I was quite impressed with it.
Errr it's a carrier aircraft, on smaller carriers than the US ones! No parachute either! 😂
@@traildogisla I was sure it had a drag chute?
@@BaronFlyingClub under the seat, on the back of some bombs maybe but not out the back, it has two big clam shell air brakes
