I have been a History professor for 25 years. The best students I had were homeschooled. They generally more prepared, more eager to learn and better adjusted. It's one of the reasons I put all my lectures on TH-cam. As a free resource to help homeschoolers.
I love your homeschooling content! I’m in Ontario and I’m starting homeschool for my kindergartener this upcoming fall. It’s nice to hear you talk about real life as a homeschooling mom. I’m both excited and nervous about starting our homeschool journey in the fall.
suggestion: teach more/advance if kid can handle it since will help them in future - some public schools are 'lacking' in learning opportunities, so your kid could be 'ahead'
Hi Bethany, it's so great that you have funding in Alberta, I'm from Quebec and we have 0$ funding for homeschooling! I love your video! They are so informative and interesting! ❤
Creating a school at home was MY goal. I’ll make a private school. Which will be even more valuable than school! (Or so I thought.) home+ school, right? Well it wasn’t an effective approach to home education, that’s for sure. I actually approached homeschool like that for three years, until I hit a wall of frustration. Then I discovered John holt and our homeschool shifted toward the freedom I originally intended. 😝♥️Now that I coach parents, I understand that no two homeschools are the same. Because we all have unique parents and kids inside our families. Also l am in BC. 🎉
Are you filming this with the Panasonic camera? What are you using for audio? We are starting our channel and getting things set up. We homeschool as well. Love your channel, love the vibes, love the colors, thumbnails etc. All great!
Be careful what you wish for! I used to wish for that too until I learned the strings that are attached to the funding. In CA, they have to be registered with a charter to receive the funding and then they have to return the items to the charter if they stop homeschooling or want to change charters. They have to notify the charter online every day when they start schooling and meet with someone four times a year. I am happy to be in a state where I have no funding but complete freedom!

Amazing to hear that! I hope that my children will be the same once they complete their schooling!
@@BethanyFontaine I bet they will!! And I hope my lectures can help you and others in the homeschool community!

Nice to watch people homeschooling in Alberta! ❤️
FYI in Ontario we get zero. most provinces don’t fund homeschoolers sadly, only three do…
That’s awesome that you can have funding where you live! In the states we don’t get anything for homeschooling unfortunately. That’s such a blessing.
We are definitely grateful for it. That's so unfortunate that in the states you don't get any! :(
California has a charter school that gives you a teacher and funding! Not sure of anywhere else though. The Moran family does that.

Wow I had no idea! We did homeschooling in BC and funding was available there too. That makes me so sad. I wish it was different for you!
@@BethanyFontaine you are so sweet!

Hello!! Where did you get your morning routine poster?!
Nice to know that you're from Alberta! Greetings from Calgary
Yay to a fellow Albertan! ✨👋
Love this video! Thanks for all the tips :) I feel blessed that I’m starting homeschooling too and get to learn from those ahead of me in this!
I’m glad it was helpful! You’re going to do great! 👏✨
Man I wish we could have funding here in Washington state!

@@melanieshipley3133 good to know thank you!!
So I guess I need to move to Canada 😅
There is no funding for homeschooling in Ontario, but no over watch from the government either which is nice
I think you meant to say, “I wish I had known” instead of “I wish I knew.” Grammar can be tricky.
