    I hope that you are able to make this work. As a young man, I am not sure I ever seen one yet we lived in the middle of International rigs for all types of work. From mail to logging were internationals. Oddly I remember some dishes that were just a practical set of flatware.. had international motors lmt. on them. Those were everyday stuff and us kids used them in the garden or playing. Odd that I can remember that but not too much more. What I read from you is a man who lived in another time if possible and saving something of significance to you. I want you to succeed in this task that you've worked for

    I vote for the nut in behind the stud on the front hubs. I've installed a number of helicoils, I don't have a very high opinion of them. You won't regret the nuts and extended studs.

    Caught you with Isaac,mini tip,when you weld thing metal,ise .023/.024 wire and be sure to clip off the ball after every spot,you need alot of amperage and heat to melt that ball on the end of the wire!

    • @LeonardRoberts
      @LeonardRoberts 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you pull up off the weld if you do a quick flick with the torch it will flick the ball off and you wont need to stop to trim it.

    Hello. I have two 1953 IHC trucks, an R-110 and an R-162. Also I have a 67 R-185. I converted my one 53 R-110 to 12 volts over 20 years ago. Gauges work fine on 12 volts. They work on current, not voltage. I would not steer you wrong on this. Been working for 20+ years. I think they are King Sealey gauges. Anyhow, love the videos. I may have a question or two for you as I work on my trucks. Keep it up. -----Doozer

    are u sure about cutting those clamps? I think the "lip" is there so the clamp will press on the ring when the lug is tightened. I don't know for sure but you may want to check an original clamp to see if it is the shape u are making these....

    The old resistor for the gauges was a thyristor, it regulated the voltage according to temperature, will your gadget do that?

    • @BareKnuckleBinder
      @BareKnuckleBinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The “gadget” will feed dead-on voltage consistently all the time. It operates differently than a thyristor since it’s a positive linear voltage resistor, but the result is the same with a tighter tolerance.

    • @thepubliceye
      @thepubliceye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BareKnuckleBinder So there won't be any ambient temperature correction, or are your gauges not the bimetal type?

    • @BareKnuckleBinder
      @BareKnuckleBinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thepubliceye They are the bimetallic type gauge/sender circuit, but that circuit is self-contained, it just needs to see a constant 6-8v feed. The thyristor function isn’t necessary to the gauges, if it were there would have to be a thyristor on these gauges on their native 6v systems as well, but all the gauges see in that situation is a straight voltage feed.
