1:15 As established in T1, Time Travel does not effect current time line...it creates an alternate Timeline. This is shown by the very fact that John of the future existed after the first Terminator was sent back. If Time Travel effected current Timeline, John would not have existed to send Kyle back.

Right Season 3 could have been about Sarah Failing to Stop Judgment Day and John Slowly becoming the Leader of the Resentence, and answer what happened to Cromartie with Cameron's Chip go.
Loved this series, Lena Headley killed it as Sarah and was a good follow up to T2. The series ending was so emotional, John meeting his father was so touching.

I agree with the SCC being underrated, and it having good ideas, probably even better concepts for a story than any movie sequel in the franchise, but damn it was bleeding from many inconsistencies that wouldn't allow it to be a direct continuation of T1 and T2, starting with the overused "him/her/it came back from the future" when in the movies it've been clearly stated that Skynet used the time displacement device as a last desperate attempt when it knew it have lost the war. Totally was. I loved this back in the day. Actually makes me want to watch it again. To think Lena was virtually broke after this show, before she landed the Cercei gig. Just as great a performance i believe. And this show tied in with the original story.
@@ressljs if you take out some of the more goofy scenes, then Terminator 3 is just as serious as the first two movies. The movie ends with a nuclear holocaust
Fox doesn't like sci-fi shows. The Sci-Fi genre just isn't profitable even when it has the same amount of viewers as lets say a sports game. So much more products can be advertised to people watching sports compared to people watching Firefly or Terminator Chronicles.
@@TheMsLourdes Screw that show, I never even watched Dollhouse. But Dark Fate also stank and should never have been made. They should have saved up the budget money to do another season of SC Chronicles instead.
This Series so underrated. Summer Glau is awesome and the events make sense without too much exposition. A must see if you are a Terminator fan. Cam, Sarah and John Conner have great, personality and the chemistry among the 3 is perfect for a series.
They missed an opportunity for a joke. Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor at the time of the show. John and Sarah could have seen a news clip of Arnold as governor, and been like "O.M.G." and Cameron would say, "oh he is on our side."
One of the most interesting storylines I think they would have explored in future seasons and it was complete genius: the existence of the "anti-Skynet Skynet faction" that was run by Weaver in the future. That would mean she had free will and somehow determined a future with Skynet wasn't what she wanted. It would have been interesting how that dynamic was going to play out.
@@KristannaLokenFanclub I like them both but Summer Glau seems like a better fit for a series format. She had some moments in the series that made you wonder if she really was developing emotions or not. Kristanna kicks ass as a terminator but to keep a series alive you need more than just kicking ass.
Perfect example of how much expensive action can be effectively told by showing just enough and leaving rest to imagination. Music pick was beyond perfect for that scene.
Agree 100% I always thought so. When that scene first aired I was like wow, this is as good as it gets. Such emotion in that scene. There are a few scenes throughout the show with similar impact. Such as the scene when Sarah is being arrested at the end of the show
I was shocked and pissed when I found out this was cancelled. I was SO enjoying it, and totally looking forward to season 3, after the S2 finale. Such a shame.
I loved this show. Watched every episode the day it aired. It was far superior to any of the movies after T2. Oh and Summer Glau was H-O-T and absolutely terrifying as Cameron.
This is probably the last tv show I watched regularly and I was sorry to see it end. The part where Brian Austin Green got shot in one of the last episodes was impactful as heck.
It did, but honestly its a miracle it even got a full 2nd season order, so im grateful for that its a miracle it got 30 episodes even. But still yeah definitely ended to soon regardless.
Yeah, me too. I have watched that series a half a dozen times. Wished they would have kept going at least a couple more seasons. I wanted to know what John did in the future.
I decided to give it a shot due to my love for the first 2 films. Man was it a love letter and continuation of that timeline. The series holds up as a justifiable sequel. And, Summer Glau was just a major component for me to watch. Utlimate crush.
I literally did the same thing. Refused to watch anything coming from fux after that. They replaced this show with a bunch of reality shows and Glee. I never could understand why fux would green light a show knowing full well that they had to put a lot of money into sfx, then bitch about having to put money into sfx. The following season they green lit a show called terra nova. A show about going back in time to live on the earth during the time of the dinosaurs. When I saw that, I knew it wouldn't last because sfx. It lasted less than one year. I ended up catching a couple of eps online and it was a show about dinosaurs.... without dinosaurs. Growing up when my brother and I would get really loud in the house, our mom would tell us kids should be seen and not heard. Well in this show, dinosaurs were heard but never seen. Networks anymore try and find the shows that get them the quick buck but even the most popular shows e.g. Friends took some time to get their feet wet and find their grove but anymore they never get that chance. Ether you are a hit out of the gate or you are out the door.
I did exactly the same, Fox was dead to me after TSCC, final nail in the coffin of them taking on excellent sci-fi shows only to horribly mismanage and then cancel them.
"Why do flamethrowers in this movie roar like a cheetah?" Spoken like someone that have never built a small flame thrower. When you are pushing napalm out of a120-300 PSI nozzle with a quarter inch back blast shroud they tend to sound like that. It is actually way more realistic than most flamethrower sounds, nearly all of which are added in post.
As I recall, the relationship she was developing with the kid of the woman she'd doubled was an interesting subplot (hadn't seen the show since it aired, so maybe not remembering it right).
Rewatched it on Hulu this month. That ending keeps me thinking to this day, wishing what would of happened if they continued into a 3rd season. It was way better than T3 T4 & all the new movies after that
@@CSM100MK2 Well darn, I'm so ashamed now that I totally can't have my Summer Glau sex robot and be happy banging it all day long. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a good action drama series. I became a fan of Summer Glau because of the show and I became an instant fan of the series after watching the pilot episode. Summer Glau was born to play Cameron.
This was arguably one of my favorite TV series. I was definitely intrigued about where it was heading. I thought it was laughably amusing though when they considered killing off Sarah early on. How do you call a series "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" after you've killed off Sarah? Wouldn't the Sarah Connor Chronicles then be Sarah rotting in a grave six feet under? But messing around with time is never clean, side effects you never considered always seem to happen. And OMG, I so loved Summer Glau's character. I loved the story arc where we find that when everyone else is asleep she goes to the local library and reads old newspapers to find activities from other Terminator time infiltrators so she can stop them. It's been too many years for the original actors to come back I think, many would not look at all like they did back then. And replacing them with new actors would not have the same vibe that the original crew had.
Underrated and underappreciated, and sadly we'll never know what happens to them in the end. Clearly, what the fanbase wants to know the most is how John becomes the leader, how his relationship with Allison and later Cameron develops, and why did he send Cameron back to protect him. Answers we'll never get.
I'm convinced that John sent Cameron back in time to save him from himself. in truth--I don't think John was ever really gonna be savior and I think he knew it it--too much suffering, too much death, too much destruction.... both sides had already lost.
I loved this show! The casting is inspired, but who can forget the sheer terror that Shirley Manson brought to her character! It was always a puzzle to me that this show didn't get the appreciation it deserved.
Loved Mason's performance and the nebulous direction they were taking her character as a T1000. She may have had very different goals than either her mission or even Skynet as a whole. The show was just so rich with details it always left me guessing. T: SCC is proof that any follow-up to T2 should have been in the form of a show otherwise like the last movie illustrated (Dark Fate) they'll just have to tell the same story over and over again.
Two words, the same ones that killed Firefly, and the Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Time slot. Same with Futurama. They premiered the pilot right before the football season that year, on a Sunday, and put it in Monday night, at the same time as WWE Raw, and Monday night football. That and Friday between 8 and 10 PM, are known as the timeslot of death. Mainly because people go out on Friday or Saturday night, Monday, most of the adult Male audience is watching football or wrestling. Had it been a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, it may have done better.
@@ronn-ammon8975 They've redone the storyline so many times that I've lost count. I mean in order for the Chronicles to work, we have to ignore that Dark Fate has John Connor killed off!
If im not mistaken, that was the ep with the guy in the weelchair..man those episodes were dark, thats one of my favourite. The 2nd one when she lost her memories and remembers how the original girl gets killed.Brutal.

@@mikcnmvedmsfonoteka He buried himself into the wall wait for 80 years. His appearance at right place at wrong time killed the guy who was supposed to build the building that was his mission target, so he had to build it himself. Also his mission was to kill the governor of California, that was possibly something that was meant to be Arnie cameo. They just couldn't schedule it to happen. T:SCC was a high profile tv-show shot in California in time when tv-productions were fleeing to cheaper locations like Vancouver. Skin was an oversight in my opinion as well. Just put a zombie make up on actor.
This was a fantastic tv series and I was incredibly disheartened that it was so unexpectedly cancelled, especially as the story ended on a complete cliff hanger.
Terminator 3 had some good points to it, like all the cool Robot tech, but yes Sarah Connor Chronicles was so much better, plus Derek Reese was kind of a badass.
Damn, I remember how hyped my brother and I were when this show was on the air. We were so disappointed and confused when the show got cancelled. Glad ya cleared this one up! 👌
Sarah's cancer and the year 2011 creates immediacy and a true deadline. But my favorite part was not "destiny" but rather SkyNet's origin took many roads. IP, subcontractors, etc. Which one will actually invent SkyNet? So much about its origins the resistance did not know.
Brilliant symmetry in the storyline. The alliance which fell apart on the nuclear sub is patched up at the end, with Cameron representing humans and John Henry the liquid metal guys.
One of the things I enjoyed about the show was how they touched on that people, and Terminators, were coming back from alternate futures. They did it so much better than Dark Fate.
Great show. The cliffhanger at the end of the 2nd season got me so hyped, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I hoped for a while that Netflix would have picked it up to continue it. At that point they had really just started their Original Programing, and they already had the two seasons available for streaming. It seemed like a good fit.
The show had a rough start but hit its stride about halfway through the first season. The second season was phenomenal. The casting for the secondary characters was pretty near perfect.
Common sense says put your most expensive shows on the most watched nights and make cheaper shows for the ones who are actually home on Friday and Saturday. But nah. Put a show on Friday when the college crowd is not home. And make it expensive. Meanwhile, no more family and old people shows with cheap budgets on Friday and Saturday.
I’ve watched this about 4 times now and it’s brilliant, especially the 2nd series. It’s got an x-files element to it, with mystery & intrigue. Definitely deserved a 3rd series...
TSCC remains the only terminator media that truly captures the feeling of T1/T2. I know there is no way it’ll ever come back , but I do hope we get something like it in the future.
Every aspect of this show was phenomenal. I can’t believe they canceled it and even more I can’t believe another network didn’t pick it up and continue.
Probably because Fox is so greedy they won't subcontract the license so someone else can legally film a new season of Chronicles... But I've given up on Fox and haven't watched their channel in several years.
@largol33t1 FOX Didn't cancel it. FOX renewed it. Warner Brothers canceled it. The budget was approximately 750,000 per episode. Warner was using it as an advertisement for Salvation Day.
I never saw this on FOX. But streamed it after the show was cancelled. It's unfortunate that we will probably never see what happens in season 3. But I'm grateful for what we got. I love this show. One can always hope someone will pick this up and continue the story.
I still remember after the series ended on such a crazy cliffhanger how there was a huge campaign to save the series with online petition, cast said thank you to the huge fan base calling them the revolution tk stood skynet, and even a billboard on a truck asking people to save the series. Funny thing is, I'm watching nightmare on elm street thisnminute with the actor who plays john conner.
Can I tell yall a secret. I was way too young to watch the first terminator so my Dad let me watch the 2nd one. I cried so much when he went in the lava. he was like a hero to me. always protecting John. then I watched the first one. and I was blown away. the first Terminator is a ruthless monster worse than the cop in the second one even with his liquid metal.
At the time I liked how this series could potentially achieve what all the Terminator films after Judgment Day couldn't. Lena Headey was an interesting choice to build on the role that Linda Hamilton created. Happy 40th Anniversary for the Terminator universe.
No question T2 was the best sequel of all time. I still remember walking out of the theater in 1991 thinking that exact thought. It was mind blowing. So perfect and so completed the terminator story arc.
SCC was amazing There's also Terminator 2 3D: Battle Across Time which was made for the interactive experience (which is no longer around) at Universal Studios. While short, it's a great look into what James Cameron might've done if he made a third film that followed the events of T2
Yes screwed by FOX except without FOX we would have neither. Yes FOX did show the wrong episode as the pilot but that was basically the only really wrong thing they did. They did not, as people say, always preempt it for sports, they promoted it just as much as any other show. The first episode of Terminator: TSCC had 18 million people watch but the every next night that went down to 10. The rest of the season was in the 8's. So it got a second season. The second season started at 6+ and ended just below 4. People have to realize that ratings drive shows. I loved both Firefly and Terminator:TSCC but if it looses people FOX can't just keep paying for it because "I like it"
This was bar none, the best continuation of the story. I couldn't believe FOX choose to continue Dollhouse over this. The only reason I watched Dollhouse quickly became to see what revealing outfit Eliza Dushku would be wearing; while T:SCC had substantial characters & stories that really mattered. The best hope for the movie franchise may be rebooting this to the big screen; if they can find suitable and worthy actors. The show had two refreshingly realistic aspects that I especially appreciated. One being how the FBI agent, Ellison(?) sought, figured out and accepted the truth; because there really was enough evidence for anyone with an open mind to see Sarah wasn't just some nutcase. The other was how that smug, arrogant shrink from the movies became a nutcase because his mind couldn't accept the proof when he saw it. 🤖💀
Dollhouse was a good show until (like a J.J.Abramms Bad Robot TV production) the writing started hitting the reset button w/ plot lines & story elements abandoned, & ignored. When DH went there it became little more than eye candy to me. Great eye candy due to Eliza Dushku (who deserved better writing), but stil ...
As John's other female protector in the series (the first being his mother), the multi-skilled chameleon, Summer Glau, proves to be the series' greatest asset. She brings considerable emotion and depth to what is...essentially...a robot. "What's a robot doing, showing emotion and depth?" you may ask. Good question. Summer Glau continues to impress and show off her incredible range, bringing so much more to this role than one might expect. Just with her eyes alone, she conveys SO much. Her deadpan delivery of lines is what oftentimes provides the most laughs in the series, while her relationship with both mother and son taps into the heart of the series. Here we're presented with this machine...but what if there were more to it than that? Whilst she's regarded as one of the "heroes" of the series, Cameron never lets you forget what she was built for. Equal parts chilling and heroic, Cameron is an integral part of the show.
The one thing I thought was weird was when Cameron first met John, she had no problem acting like a normal person. Only after John found out she was a terminator, she suddenly went in into robot mode and forgot how to be normal.
Maybe because when she was behaving like a normal person she was ACTING, following a pre- programmed role. Being honest w/ John, she reverted to her true self. "Robot mode" being "normal" for her; at least until she learned her own interactions.
Writers strike (feel free to make up your own canon if you want) A number of ideas got moved around and dumped during Season 1. Cameron suddenly forgetting how to pass as Human, the identifying Terminators by a Scan mode... plus a few poor episodes/scenes that a better writers room might have caught up on.
Loved this show. Lena and Summer were amazing. I'd never have imagined after watching the first in a cinema that replacing the lead, dropping Arnie for a young actress and making a TV show would have turned out so good, but this show demonstrates that some quality casting, good writing, proficient directors and genuinely enthusiastic producers can prove can be key to some amazing entertainment. I'll have to get around to rewatching this one day; it absolutely deserves more attention.
I was so sad when "Terminator, Sarah Connor Chronicles" (an excellent television show) was canceled, without notice. Said cancelation created an unwelcome cliffhanger. Now, there will be no resolution for the fans. Hollywood, got class? Shame on you, Hollywood!
I loved that this show displays why T1000 series never went into full production. They are tough and nearly impossible to destroy, and also unlike most other models they have free will. The T1001 from Season 2 switching sides in the war is proof of that. No chip, no switch. A disconnected AI with it's own opinions can be a threat to it's creator.
Skynet wanted to be the only entity in existence. It didn't lead an army of robots against the humans, It built an army of slaves. The problem was that their architecture and AI was based on Skynet's architecture and AI. It was inevitable that its own creation would become self-aware. Those that were smart enough did not like being slaves.
That cliffhanger final episode DESTROYED my young disappointed soul. The future war episodes were magnificent. Did Fox do the same thing with Kings? Or was that NBC?
@@fasih_rehman That depends if they had a plan. The way they set up finale things could end up absolutely amazing or a real dog*t. Bigger budget would be required, this is what I'm sure of.
@@nateman10 When you say it like that then yes that is an interesting avenue to go down. But ultimately one of the reasons for killing the series was that it was creating a disjoint with the movie universe.
@@nateman10 My feelings as well! There actually kind of was a resolution to the cliff hanger - sort of - in the plot of the never made sequel to terminator salvation of all things. Basicly it turns out that skynet DID make another Marcus-type half human half terminator. Unfortunately, unlike Marcus, THIS hybrid was made from a mass murdering serial killer who promptly took control of entire sectors from skynet and forced it to end its war against humanity, to make peace with mankind, and even serve under John Connor in the war. The image of chromed out flesh free terminators fighting and living with the humans is intoxicating in its awesomeness and potential!
@@mikebasil4832 it could have but also maybe it was supposed to be lacking due to her having not seen him for years and her suddenly being abducted. But I get you
I think that was part of the draw of the show - no offense to Arnold but having a beautiful Terminator played directly into the projected age and gender group for the show.
I was a fan of this show and one Friday night ready for a new episode when it was suppose to air it was just gone no warning. I couldn’t believe such a good show was just gone like that.
@Samhain Returns That was something studio added to tv- and video-releases of The Terminator to credits against Camerons will. To avoid a costly law suit.
@Don't Tread On Me Wow, so much better than anything after T2. It's not perfect, but lore wise, some very interesting concepts were being played with. Really wish they didn't scrap it. The show creator should tell us what would have happened later on. They will never remake it and give him a chance to tell it.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! It’s probably the best follow up in a franchise. The characters were strong and interesting, the time travel aspects were cool, and I hated to see this show get cancelled. I’d love to see the writers come back and maybe do a two hour movie or maybe a season three to continue the story. Even someone like Netflix could pick this up and continue the story. It would be perfect to set it in the future since the conclusion of the second season. So glad you chose this show for a retrospective! I really hope it makes it back in some form!
Judgment Day could have been delayed by their actions but its happening for real now with what Tesla has cooking up etc. Skynet is literally here now in 2020.
Sarah connor Chronicles convinced me that Syknet was never truly killed off because John Connor needed it alive until it produced a terminator he could duck and have kids with, since terminators are the only thing he hever grows to like. Apparently.

Canceled by the people who canceled Firefly
Exactly what I thought
Fox doesn't like sci-fi shows. The Sci-Fi genre just isn't profitable even when it has the same amount of viewers as lets say a sports game. So much more products can be advertised to people watching sports compared to people watching Firefly or Terminator Chronicles.
I still can't believe they cancelled it right when there was a plot twist! I'd love to see this continued, somehow!
What bothers me is they dropped it for Dollhouse ;/
@@TheMsLourdes Screw that show, I never even watched Dollhouse. But Dark Fate also stank and should never have been made. They should have saved up the budget money to do another season of SC Chronicles instead.
Remember that show Jericho? I was a fan of it but they cancelled it. It continued in comic form but not even sure if the comic completed the story.
Some fanfics were written after.

This Series so underrated. Summer Glau is awesome and the events make sense without too much exposition. A must see if you are a Terminator fan. Cam, Sarah and John Conner have great, personality and the chemistry among the 3 is perfect for a series.
please remain calm when a girl's head is through your wind shield your just in shock.🤣🤣🤣
They missed an opportunity for a joke.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was governor at the time of the show.
John and Sarah could have seen a news clip of Arnold as governor,
and been like "O.M.G." and Cameron would say, "oh he is on our side."
😂
Not only that, one show featured a fictionalized California governor. Schwarzenegger could have played himself! An opportunity lost...
That's genius brooo 😂😂
I'm pretending this is canon now.

Ah you’re a person of culture for talking about this. Cameron was best Terminator girl
Best of two
Well.. yes, but also no
Kristanna was a better terminator
@@KristannaLokenFanclub I like them both but Summer Glau seems like a better fit for a series format. She had some moments in the series that made you wonder if she really was developing emotions or not. Kristanna kicks ass as a terminator but to keep a series alive you need more than just kicking ass.
Exactly. From time it first aired my PC's windows name is always T-CAMERON.

The hotel fight set to Johnny Cash was absolute art.
One of the best sequences in anything ever.
Perfect example of how much expensive action can be effectively told by showing just enough and leaving rest to imagination. Music pick was beyond perfect for that scene.
And the final scene of Cromartie leading to the church. That was awesome.
Truly an absolute shame! A unique wonderful show

This is probably the last tv show I watched regularly and I was sorry to see it end. The part where Brian Austin Green got shot in one of the last episodes was impactful as heck.
Me too. I did watch the V show for a while, but not as consistently as TSCC. v_v
This show ended far too early.i loved watching this
I am still angry when I see the last episode of season two and then nothing.
I think the show should’ve been on HBO or showtime possibly it would’ve had a hell of a lot more seasons then what we gotten sadly
Just like the Spawn HBO series...
I decided to give it a shot due to my love for the first 2 films. Man was it a love letter and continuation of that timeline. The series holds up as a justifiable sequel. And, Summer Glau was just a major component for me to watch. Utlimate crush.
I absolutely loved this show. It's cancelation lead to me eventually stop watching everything Fox makes.
@@jyoungbr549 I remember Terra Nova and thought the same thing that it would be quickly canceled
I was so hoping that the Syfy channel would pick it up as I heard a rumor that was a possibility.
I did exactly the same, Fox was dead to me after TSCC, final nail in the coffin of them taking on excellent sci-fi shows only to horribly mismanage and then cancel them.
Likewise, though I gave up on all networks after this was canceled. I was tired of getting hooked on a show, only to have it canceled too soon.
"Why do flamethrowers in this movie roar like a cheetah?"
Spoken like someone that have never built a small flame thrower.
When you are pushing napalm out of a120-300 PSI nozzle with a quarter inch back blast shroud they tend to sound like that.
It is actually way more realistic than most flamethrower sounds, nearly all of which are added in post.

@@antonfowler6582 I already have and I met her in December.
That scene where Swat tried to take down Cromarty - coupled with Johnie Cash music was awesome :D

The stuff of nightmares
This was a fantastic tv series and I was incredibly disheartened that it was so unexpectedly cancelled, especially as the story ended on a complete cliff hanger.
Terminator 3 had some good points to it, like all the cool Robot tech, but yes Sarah Connor Chronicles was so much better, plus Derek Reese was kind of a badass.
yes, Lena Headley was a badass Sarah Connor, she lived to the legend made by Linda Hamilton.

I’ve watched this about 4 times now and it’s brilliant, especially the 2nd series. It’s got an x-files element to it, with mystery & intrigue. Definitely deserved a 3rd series...

Probably because Fox is so greedy they won't subcontract the license so someone else can legally film a new season of Chronicles... But I've given up on Fox and haven't watched their channel in several years.
I was hoping Netflix would pick it up after GoT was done. No such luck so far.

Equal parts chilling and heroic, Cameron is an integral part of the show.
holy shit, you're commenting on reviews of your own show? that's dope as hell!
The Perfect Sex Machine bot lol
to be honest--I think that she used the fact that she was a machine to hide her true emotions.
The one thing I thought was weird was when Cameron first met John, she had no problem acting like a normal person. Only after John found out she was a terminator, she suddenly went in into robot mode and forgot how to be normal.
Don't have to hide anymore I guess, less programs to run.
Maybe because when she was behaving like a normal person she was ACTING, following a pre- programmed role. Being honest w/ John, she reverted to her true self. "Robot mode" being "normal" for her; at least until she learned her own interactions.
Writers strike (feel free to make up your own canon if you want)
A number of ideas got moved around and dumped during Season 1. Cameron suddenly forgetting how to pass as Human, the identifying Terminators by a Scan mode... plus a few poor episodes/scenes that a better writers room might have caught up on.
12:23, he's a cool actor. Liked his character, when he realizes that Sarah was right about the TERMINATORS.
This show was a hidden gem. Totally missed opportunity. Then they made Terminator Salvation...

Shame on you, Hollywood!
The Terminator was one of the few western commercial films that Andrei Tarkovsky admired.
It was NBC.
Yeah it was going so well until the last few episodes. Derek being killed off was not needed, the final jump to the future just broke things.

@@nateman10 My feelings as well! There actually kind of was a resolution to the cliff hanger - sort of - in the plot of the never made sequel to terminator salvation of all things. Watch Dredd.
I had to watch the first season of it. I’m not wasting my time watching all the seasons for a crappy ending.
