  • "Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson told Shannon Sharpe that he saved most of the millions he made in the NFL by buying fake jewelry and flying coach. Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur discuss on The Young Turks. Watch TYT LIVE on weekdays 6-8 pm ET. th-cam.com/users/theyoungturkslive

"Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson earned close to $50 million in his NFL career, and there's a decent chance he had a big chuck of that when he hung up his cleats.
The former Cincinnati Bengal said he regularly bought fake jewelry and flew commercial to save money while in the NFL.
"Fly private? I ain’t flying private," he said on Shannon Sharpe’s "Club Shay Shay" podcast. "Put me on Spirit. Exit row. Window seat. That’s all I need. As long as I get from point A to point B. I don’t need private."

Ochocinco should be in the Hall Of Fame. He was the most popular wide receiver in the whole league at one time. He was box office. The face of the Cincinnati for almost a decade.

I literally met my wife through my friend's best friend while I was sleeping on their couch. When I got kicked out of there she let me sleep on her car as a friend. Now we own a house and are married. I will never say I did it all by myself, it took community and support. I hope everybody finds at least one person to live a life of love with

it's nice to hear about an athlete that knows how to budget and keep his wealth. i've heard of so many cases where an athlete makes millions and pisses it away or is bilked out of his wealth from those who are supposedly managing his money.

I like when wealthy athletes don't fall for that 'ol elitist crap of "I have more than you so that makes me better than you" BS.
And finally, more and more athletes are learning what's truly important in life and are even giving back repeatedly to their communities at a higher rate.
Americans are taught greed. And have been for centuries.
It's the younger generations who are teaching generosity to future generations.
This is what I love most about my fave sport personality Stephen Curry.
He gave, and still gives, freely to the Oakland community... and helps women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. A true champion beyond the pale.

Rich people don't realize how expensive being poor is. Easy example is cooking. If you're homeless, electricity, cooker, spices all that are huge coats. If you have a functioning cooking kitchen you already have stuff. The more money you have the less you need to buy.

    • @Catnipfumar
      @Catnipfumar ปีที่แล้ว

I've been homelessAnd I cooked a lot when I was homeless. You never went to a park and used the barbecue pit? How have humans been cooking food before you electricity with fire. You don't have to have a house in order to buy spices for your foodHow do you get to the spices to your home You go to the grocery store and you buy them. I can go to Goodwill and find a decent cast iron to cook my food on over the fire.
Also lots of statesHave services for the homelessSome more than others. There are placesThat provide day servicesAnd for me when I was homeless there were some that provide access to kitchens to cook.
Being homeless taught me I don't need a lot of money to survive and meet my needs. I was also homeless with a cat. People think you need all these materialistic items You need all this money when you don't. It's more expensiveto have things because you get comfortable with those things that's how you base your life upon and when you lose those things you feel like you can't function.
The cat and Iare doing just fineI live under my knee even though I feel a lot better. I still have the same cast iron that I bought when I was homeless that I used to cook with. Besides personal hygiene items I usually buy second hand in most of everything that I have. I purposely don't buy a loud name brand products like Nike or AdidasThat kind of crap. So just want to let you know somebody's homelessThey can probably find a park that has a barbecue pitand get to cooking like our ancestors did. Every state has a food bank.

Wow, I bet a lot of broke azz NFL players are kicking themselves now. This guy saved his money while they spent lavishly. I am the same way. I have a nice Citizens watch I bought from Target about 3 years ago. Black in black it's a nice watch. People think I spent a lot on it. Nope, $69. I can afford a thousand dollar watch but why. When I was going to buy a new vehicle I was trying to decide between a Lexus GX and a 4Runner. I analyze everything, reason to get the Lexus over the 4Runner; luxurious and ……. That was it. Reason to get the 4Runner over the GX; regular gas, lower maintenance, I’m taking sports equipment in it, not a big deal it it gets a ding, it’s cheaper, lower cost overall, am a regular guy I’m not luxury. If I want luxury I’ll rent one for a day or week. One great decision.

That's one thing about oppressed people. If you're not enjoying true freedom then you have to surround yourself with the symbols of that freedom. If I feel that I'm worthless, then that means I have to add value to myself by the things/stuff I put on my body as opposed to what I put in it.

Speaking as a woman. Don't care what you make or wear as long you support yourself. Some do but most don't except the bottom feeders from both sexes.

I love that he was all, "either the woman doesn't know my jewelry's fake, or she looked up my net worth and just doesn't care what it's made of." although I hope he's not pulling a Trump and sending people gifts of fake jewelry and knock off watches, 'cause that's sooo tacky.

Thank you for doing programming aimed at real life skills. There has to be stuff that the left can give about healthy self worth, especially to young men. It’s not about money it’s about who you are and where you are going in life.
