Based on true events [names changed to protect scoundrels still in power]: I show up wearing a 'dollar store' Kratos outfit, people line up to take photos with me. I show up wearing an original costume, not tied to any franchise, I get told 'go away'. I saw 11 people, all with the same costume, from the same scene, from the same movie, posing for a group photo recreating the scene. The Crowd was celebrating their 'Great Achievement'. No room left to be creative, lots of room for mindless duplication, eh? [shakes fist in useless display of Senior Citizen Rage] OK, on review and editorial feedback, I am forced to admit that each costume is a creative work on its own. But why the flip aren't people making new characters from their favorite movies? It's like school-kids passing around a new Joke. Everyone loves the Joke, so they tell it to everyone they know, and those kids repeat it until every kid has shared it with every other kid. It's not a bad thing, but for some period of time, it's the only Joke that anyone wants to hear! I never get the Joke, so I make odd costumes.
