Great video , I removed that upper screen filter . Did not like how it reduced flow it just screws off. That can for the crankcase doesn’t catch nearly as much as the PCV to intake manifold. The PCV is really the one you want.
Another solid video! I've got a off brand catch can and have been wondering whether or not to run it like yours or from the crank case into the . I'll be running it like yours. When I had it hooked up you wouldnt believe how much was in there. I've got serious blow by issues.
My dual can will be 1/4 full on on side with water milky stuff and battery side will catch just a enough pure oil to cover the bottom on a brand new motor.
That is interesting. Good to keep close eye on this. It does help provide insight into ring blow by. The one with milky looking contents has more water (from air that condensates inside the lines) mixing with the oil. If you can shorten the lines, it might help reduce that water volume being created.
Great video, very useful! But I have a question, why sometimes is used dual oil catch can or single one with 3 connectors (like de Grimmspeed) or just 2 like the mishimoto? Which is better? All of them for subaru like this.
Sure do buddy - check this link (below) for a $16 one from amazon - this one is the exact some thing as the Mishimoto one I have, just sold by some random supplier. NOTE: these are not anywhere as good as a $200 IAG or KillerB unit, but for $15 is 1000 times better than not having one at all. 👍👍👍 Universal Car Oil Catch Can Kit Reservoir Tank 150ml with Breather Aluminum Compact Dual Cylinder Polish Baffled Engine Air Oil Separator Tank Fit (Black 3 Ports 150ml without Air Filter) www.amazon.com/dp/B07W4THCLM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_N.lEFbNXVKR7Z
I love MCM I've watched every episode as with this channel and love modifying my v8 rex it's just done 200k km and the only issues I've had in the last 8 years is cracked radiator top tank and leaking BOV!
Got this one from Rally Sport Direct. For US buyers, I think it’s one of the best places to buy from. They only stock good quality stuff and they have two major shipping hubs, one on the east coast and one on the west coast.
Great video! Are you still running the same catch can? If so, do you feel that it's done a good job? Thinking of running the same setup for my 2004 Forester XT. Finding lots of oil in the throttle body to intercooler hose and a bunch of oil build up in the turbo inlet hose too. Thanks again dude! Love the vids.
Almost forgot to hit the thumbs up had to come back. I like how you've got red piping to match the manifold it makes your engine bay look really neat! Is that 19mm hose?
Hi. Thanks! Yes I believe it’s 19mm. I actually choose it because it has a much more rigid side wall than normal rubber hoses, it’s actually a high psi hydraulic line with inner support webbing woven in - figures that would be better for the vacuum this line sees. 😁🤙
Found the link to the exact catch can you're using on rallysportdirect, but it doesn't include the hoses, and you've got some pretty nice hoses lol. May I ask what brand and size hoses you're using? 8mm or 10mm? Going to install in my 08 FXT
Hell yes you can! It’s actually Goodrich brand high pressure / thick walled oil rated hose. Think it’s 10mm or 3/4”. Got it at Ace Hardware I believe. Basically, I wanted something that felt firmer than normal heater hose cause this application has to withstand the vacuum signal from the intake and you don’t want it to collapse. Hope this helps! 🤙
I think you got your "in" and "out" tubing mixed up backwards. The flow is from the crankcase to the catch can "IN" then "OUT" to the intake. I'm not sure if your brand actually has an in and out labeled for flow but maybe you should recheck your setup. Two intros....... huh. Suckers, ya I'll have to unsub if that keeps up.
Why is he saying “sucker” too much? I swear it’s annoying. Hopefully he doesn’t talk like this on a normal basis. I’m not subscribing, definitely unprofessional use of words.
That “sucker” is really nice man
Drinking game… 🍻
Bro I swear, if you say "sucker" one more time, I'll unsub.
F me. I know. Sorry buddy. Working on it!
Really? Only a sucker would miss out on great info because of one word.
LATER SUCKER
That's one less sucker we gotta get rid of
So what did you do to the valve cover port that used to have the line that went to the black metal pipe in front of IC?
Great video , I removed that upper screen filter . Did not like how it reduced flow it just screws off. That can for the crankcase doesn’t catch nearly as much as the PCV to intake manifold. The PCV is really the one you want.
Nice 😁

Clean looking engine compartment. Nice location too. I'll copy that setup soon!
Awesome!!!
I Agree..!
So many g-damn "suckers"...
I got issues... lol 😆😆😆
So is it a sucker or a catch can ? I am so confused right now :(
Hahah. It’s both!!!
The design of the OCC might cause can pressure?
OCC?
what about the other hose with the PCV switch going into the turbo inlet and intake manifold ?

Hi is the red/pcv hoses is it? 10mm or 19mm? I want to get the right ones
Do you have a link to get that catch can? I want to run the same set up but can’t find that can anywhere

Need a coalescing media inside.
Hi, which is the brand this intercooler? I like it! , how much it is cost? Thanks
It’s an OEM 2017 STI. They cost about $450 new I believe.
@@SubaruONLY ok thanks friend!
👍
What are the hose sizes? Are both hoses the same size?
Another great video!🍻
Thanks and cheers! 🍻
This is like mighty carmods, but super well done and not ratchet
Thank you!!! 😁😁😁

Awesome car buddy. Sounds like you taking good care of her!!! 😁👍👍
If anyone knows how to install catch can on Subaru impreza 2.0 Diesel let me know I can't seem to find anywhere the answer.
Where can I purchase that oil can catch?
Got this one from Rally Sport Direct. For US buyers, I think it’s one of the best places to buy from. They only stock good quality stuff and they have two major shipping hubs, one on the east coast and one on the west coast.
Hey does a non turbo need a catch can ?
Yes, better to have it, then not have it. Only helps. Cheers!!!
@@SubaruONLY thanks man
👊
Thanks installing one on mine
Awesome - Good luck buddy! 👍

Thanx, your videos are great!
Did the catch can come with those hoses ?
No. Purchased those separately.
Damn fine job!
Thanks!!!

@@SubaruONLY website you got it from? Goodridge or rich?
Sorry, can’t remember where I got them. Been a while.
You should make one on dual catch can
Just might do this...
@@SubaruONLY yes please. I am planning on doing that but all the other videos explanations are crap
This is fucking awesome i love all his videos
Take a shot everytime he says "sucker"
And you will be smashed 5 min in... 😁😁😁
You dead?

I’ll be sure to double check that. Thanks.
I think the same, the brass filter should be out and it seems that the "In" hose is sitting on the Brass filter side...
Thanks man. Good heads up! I’ll be checking this over the holiday weekend.
@@SubaruONLY no problem, write the result if it will catch more oil ;)
Will do!
“This sucker”
I know. I got issues. Lol 😂
The word sucker has been abused in this video
True
Sucker sucker sucker sucker i lost counting 🤔
