Only we do not add udid daal or chana daal to any of our taalipus. Oil/ghee mustard , jeera, haladi, perangayum, curry leaves and chopped green chillis is the standard tadka for any dish. Paati is right, we make all these 3 varieties, kande pohe ie onion pohe as you have shown, mataar pohe ie green peas pohe as you added here, batate pohe ie potato pohe as you instructed correctly to make tiny cubes and add them first with raw ground nuts before adding mustard and jeera.. In the end we sprinkle little water and keep a lid to bring one steam so that pohe remain moist and not dry or stick at the bottom. Instead of mixture, traditionally we garnish with freshly grated coconut (on the serving plate, and not in the pan on the gas) and kothamalli, and yes, lemon is a must ..😊 Your abhanga in Marathi was another pleasant surprise! Your pronunciation is flawless and your voice is beautiful.. Thank you for such a wonderful video.. Maharashtrian poha - 1) Wash thick poha gently. Drain all the water. 2) heat 2-3 tbspn oil and fry a handful of groundnuts, remove and put it in poha 3) in the same Oil, put mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, then add chopped onion and saute Add a pinch of turmeric powder Add the poha+fried groundnuts, salt as per taste, sprinkle very little water and let it cook for 2 min in steam on low flame. Garnish with coriander leaves and add a dash of lemon or serve with a cube of lemon. We don't add chana dal and udad daal while tempering. Just mustard n cumin seeds.
