What a voice, so underrated. I had the album Just A Stone's Throw Away from the 70's when I was into a lot of new female singers like Nicolette Larson, Karla Bonoff and her. Sad of her passing. Left a legacy though.
Kind of like a gospel anthem. Brilliantly written by Valerie, Kathy Kurasch, & Tom Snow. Congratulations to Tom on Songwriters Hall of Fame nomination!
What a voice she had .. such a loss to her peers in the music industry and probably not appreciated by the mainstream as usual just like Eva. In the words of Joni, "dont it always seem to go you don't know what you've got `til it's gone" .....
I spotted Jackson at :29 and 2:17 . Wow. The girl he loved for years. He revealed that fact right after she died in 2017’ along with the song “That Girl Could Sing”.
this video has taken during recordings of her solo covers album the way it is from 1996 with some musiciens and old friends linda ronstadt jackson browne etc.... !!!
Jackson Browne just barely seen starting at :28 , but keep a beam on him for a few seconds. He let her use his studio or whatever for her event. I do not know if this is within the window in which he said that he loved her. On the other hand, his love may have never ended. He pretty much said so when she died. All of this is on YT.
It is so good to see Val looking so relaxed with some of her many friends.
Thanks to everyone for their love and prayers for her. sister, Jan
how is she doing????
Until you begin again, rest in peace. Thank you for the beautiful music.
Love this! Thinking of Val and all the great vocals she has given this world. Blessings upon her.
Phenomenal. I always thought her voice was incomparable....extra ordinary. So sad to hear of her passing.
She was such a precious talent. Thanks for sharing this
