I started making the Sally Lunn bun when I first watched the Tasting History episode around last June. It's been about a year and I still make it almost every week.

"I can't remember what I did this morning" not uncommon, actually, I have the same problem. Depending on how bad it is, there is a condition called Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory (SDAM) of which I suffer. I can remember scores of information, nothing about my life. I can tell you we went to Disneyland in 1983, couldn't tell you much about the trip. I don't remember anything about Disneyland, I don't remember walking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, don't remember eating at The Brown Derby. I remember that these things happened but I can't recall the actual events. I look at family photos of vacations and they don't register at all.
That... that may be indeed why i cant remember a lot of what memories i should have aside from a few. Like, i remember little bits of what i did over the last 35 years, but not nearly so much as other people seem to that are my age. Could explain quite a lot.
The Sally Lunn Bun is the first recipe I made from your channel. My husband and I LOVED them, and they even scored me some extra points with my Mother-in-Law. I think now I’ll have to make some more!
All Final Fantasy games have fantastic music. It's some of my favorite video game music. I too got to see a small chamber orchestra performing some of the Final Fantasy music and it was amazing.
Sally Lunn buns have been enjoyed many a Sunday morning. My carb loving heart is eternally grateful. One of my favorite episodes. Hey try smirnoff pink lemonade, it's yummy. I can't wait for Loki, looks fantastic. I think we all want to hang out with you guys. Once the world opens up, can we get some live performances?
@@KetchupwithMaxandJose Hey if Paul Hollywood can perform live, so could Max. Lol you guys, on stage doing what you're doing now, then cooking demo and we all get some 😊❤
Hang in there on the Cookbook. I know it is a huge project after listening to both Vivian Howard and Alex talk about their experiences. Will wait til I can get it.
The Sally Lunn bun and the Bath bun .... how cruel to those of who have coeliac's disease. As a Brit it was entertaining to hear Max's pronunciation of bath - with a flat northern A rather than the southern R sounding A. Seriously it was an enjoyable episode and this conversation charming as ever. It is interesting to note Jose's growing contribution - he was so shy early on. A propos of nothing - I wonder which of the Anglo Saxon kings Max particularly likes - I think Athelstan and Alfred the Great are both rather special, and it is particularly marvelous that we can actually read Alfred's own words.
Sally Lunn buns, Sally Lunn buns, just keep saying it, Bally Sunn luns. My mind is still boggling over the visuals of self-righteous Victorians sewing little underpants on the freewheeling menfolk of the Bayeux Tapestry. Geez. My favorite Disney character is Mulan (animated original), but my favorite Disney movie is still *Pinocchio*. I love the art, the brilliant animation, and the wonderful songs. The scenes with the transformation of Lampwick into ... well, you know, and the poor little donkeys who were ... well, you know (trying to avoid spoilers for those who have yet to watch it), horrify me and wring my heart to this day (I am nearly 70). Max, will you call your novel *A Cute Angle"?
Thank you both for another wonderful episode! I hope your dinner was yummy. I have to be honest, I actually haven't made any of the tasting history recipes yet! I developed foraminal stenosis last August and am currently am bed bound. My son who introduced me to the channel does all the cooking now. Plus I am gluten free so it eliminates a lot of the recipes. I want to try the flower pancakes from this week if I can source the petals. 😐 Definitely leaving the buckwheat out I dislike the taste. I love talking with you two because that is what these videos feel like, that you have invited me over and we get to sit and chat. Take care!!
I love the podcasts, excellent job! Mum also instructed me to tell you Jose, that you have excellent taste! I made Sambocade this week and told her that it was one of your favorites from Tasting History and she loved the Sambocade too! Sally Lunn buns are definitely on my to do list too. Excellent episode as always!
Considering you stayed during a pandemic and were having to wish with what you had and could get, you've done really well. You didn't know how the Chaney would be received so there wasn't a reason to spend a lot of money on equipment or software. You accept and appreciate suggestions and constructive criticism in order to improve each week and it's paying off. Eventually, you'll get the editing down either by practice or better software. It's nice that you do care so much, even before you decided to make this a full time job. I've enjoyed the history and when you do go of on a tangent and get a little carried away I don't mind it's interesting. I forget we're supposed to be taking about food, but you get back to it eventually. I'm glad Jose created this channel even if he didn't like being on camera, which I get, I hate having my picture taken. He participates in his own way and it's nice. Plus we get to see the kitties and that's a bonus.
If there’s something from the pizza cats cartoon/anime in the background of the pizza episode I will flip my lid in the best possible way. Lol. Also, I’m not a Star Wars fan but I actually like the bad batch. I’m a Trekkie at heart.

All Final Fantasy games have fantastic music. It's some of my favorite video game music. I too got to see a small chamber orchestra performing some of the Final Fantasy music and it was amazing.
Happy Friday :) I soo want to make the bun one day :) Bridgerton makes me think of Bath. Queen Victoria loves getting it on but hated being preggers.
What is Max performing ?:)
Thanks.
2 YT Channels, a podcast, Insta, a cookbook! Is there ANYTHING that Max, Jose and the CATS CAN’T do??!! 🌹🌹
Spreading myself thin here 🤭
Have you ever played Mount and Blade? There's a great mod for Warband called Brytenwalda that's about your (Max's) favorite period in history!
DISTANT WORLDS!!!! I went in chicago in 2019, great time
Ya know what would be cool? Tasting Disney :-D
Ill get Max on it! He’s knows all the Disney tea
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax!
And Jose 😎
Happy Friday!
Need more Max and Jose chatting. Would LOVE hour long podcasts!
Oh man, I'm annoyed, the Podcast only episode still isn't up on Spotify. :( It's up everywhere else *ugly cries
Take care!!
Thank you Nikkie! I hope you can try something soon, syllabub is super easy and good
I love the podcasts, excellent job! Mum also instructed me to tell you Jose, that you have excellent taste! I made Sambocade this week and told her that it was one of your favorites from Tasting History and she loved the Sambocade too! Sally Lunn buns are definitely on my to do list too. Excellent episode as always!
Too kind 😭 all the feels

I love buns, oddly enough haven’t made these yet
Super excited for Loki! Son and I are really enjoying Bad Batch - grats to everyone involved. Pats to the cats.
All the pats. Thanks for the support!
Made them they were delicious ❣️
Just got done listening to your podcast on Spotify when i was at work. nice keep up the good work
Nice Durante opening, Max :)
I always love both your You Tube channels... always a joy
I would LOVE to read historical fiction based in that time period.
Nobuo Uematsu is the man! I have a bunch of his video game soundtracks that I listen to all the time.
Da best! Yoko Shimomura is another favorite
Brb, on my way to google that tapestry 🤨😂 Loved this episode!
I would LOVE to see you judge RuPaul's Drag Race!
If there’s something from the pizza cats cartoon/anime in the background of the pizza episode I will flip my lid in the best possible way. Lol. Also, I’m not a Star Wars fan but I actually like the bad batch. I’m a Trekkie at heart.
L:OVE IT ! Jose' I'm enjoying how your channel is evolving and getting better. Always an enjoyable time to sit with friends and just chat. Thank you. Keep up the great work !
Hahha I don’t know about better but appreciate ya watching 🤪
There is also a full replica at an abbey in the North part of Denmark. It was made by a group of local women and took 15 years (I think) to make. The abbey is called Børglum Kloster. It's amazing.
I feel like Max would enjoy the Norman Awareness Month facebook page and the memes posted there
Free haircut and getting to spend 2 hours with your fiance. Not too bad...of course right now you get a lot of time together :)
So much time together haha
