My brother had two cats that basically were partners in crime - one time my brother thawed a 7 pound duck, he had placed it in an oven dish in the kitchen sink. We were in the living room when we heard a loud twack from the kitchen and rushed to see what had made the noise - it was his cats, who somehow had manage to get the duck out of the sink and all the way down onto the floor.

Other coat variations, like tabby, Siamese, smoke, etc. come from other chromosomes. If your cat has 1 red X and 1 black X she is a tortoiseshell.

Lol love the thumbnail. Cersei sounds like my grandparent's Russian Blue, named "blue", who was an indoor/outdoor barn cat. He ruled the house, outlived 3 poodles and took on raccoons and won. He wasn't affectionate, but he tolerated us grandkids... Although he wasn't above smacking around the dogs if they invaded his space.
I think a good many Americans are aware now of how awful declawing is, which is good that awareness has spread over there (I'm Aussie, so declawing is illegal here).
Our 18-year-old cat Fender was a super cranky old lady. She only liked getting pets from my wife and even then, her cuddling only started over the last few years. She never really took to me -- LOL! She also was the type to eat like Cersei, just little nibbles at a time here and there, so we always left food out for her all the time. Unfortunately, we briefly had a housemate that had to stay with us in an emergency and brought her two cats with her and one of her cats would steal all the food, so we had to feed them separately until she moved out. After the food-stealing cat was gone, Fender thankfully went back to just picking at her food like she used to. And that was great, til she got ill over the last few months and we had to switch from her dry food to some Rx soft food. And since we couldn't leave the soft food out for more than 4 hours, there was a lot of changing out her food all the time and trying to figure out how much to put in her bowl without wasting too much expensive food (usually 1/4 can worked). She unfortunately just passed away a few days ago on Tuesday and we're still re-adjusting to not having to rush to feed her every four hours, but your talking about feeding Jaime multiple times a day totally reminded me of that. Such high maintenance babies! (LOL, we still love them for it though!) Anyway, thanks for the happy cat video. It really soothed some of the ache of the loss of our own fur-baby.
I was never a cat person until we had to take in my husband’s uncle’s cat Annie. He passed away and no one in the family wanted her. She was just like your Cersei, but I fell in love. She sadly passed away in 2015, and now we have Leo, the cat in my profile picture. Cats are just the best!

We adopted two sibling kitties during lockdown. One is a 16 lb "husky" kitty who wakes us up at 5:30 am to eat every day. He gives little bites on our feet if we don't get up. 🤣 he also needs his 3 square meals a day like clockwork. Cats are ao funny. I love their personalities.
Pandemic Kittens unite! I adopted two brothers (littermates) last August: Apollo and Angus. They have been an absolute joy to have. Even my grumpy old cat Melvin has come around to the kitten love. The whole Cat Family has made pandemic life/working from home bearable.
A year ago I had 2 kitties but one,Margarita, dissapeared when I moved back to my house, there were two cats who still lived there, but both of them would leave for weeks at a time, so I couldn't count on them. So my cousin needed to rehome Margarita's grandsons, Kawasaki and Yamaha made last summer tolerable. Even though Harley did not approve. Then Margarita's brother decided to come stay with us. Then I got a chance to help get my friend the Munchkin he'd been promised and Cricket has a brother, Suzuki, blessedly those four young boys all love each other. And between agreeing to have six cats instead of 4, my Ninja came home and brought a companion, a feral cat i named Intruder, luckily hes not a Trudy. I know im a crazy cat lady, because i almost asked to stop and look at free kittens the other day. But my need for babies in the house is fully met by the gerbils and the rats.
Bless the kitties! We had the exact same dynamic, older grouchy girl, younger boisterous boy, he will eat anything... our feline hierarchy was fixed by getting a third kitten! The boy was annoying the older girl because he was lonely and wanted to play, so getting him a little sister made all the difference. The old girl was always grouchy, but she got her own space, and the boy and the baby are still best friends! My hungry boy doesn't get double-fed because we weigh out his kibble (half a portion of nothing, according to him!) and when he is desperately hungry, he gets a little of his daily portion. Frequent small meals are better for his delicate digestion, but he does now expect food any time he asks!
Y’all should invest in automatic cat feeders, truly the best thing! You can set it to feed multiple times a day, the cats won’t wake you up at ungodly hours, and you can leave them for a few days and they still get fed. That plus the litter robot and a pet fountain has been the trifecta of cat care.
Love your kitties. ❤️ I’m sure you know, however, that dear Jaimie wouldn’t be so awesome if you had not had him fixed. You’d be dealing with a cat with a different personality who would be marking his territory all over your house. So, don’t wish that you hadn’t had him fixed. Be grateful! I lost my old cat in July and really want another. I got her from the shelter because she liked dogs, but did not like other cats. I had 7 Siberian huskies at the time. (all were raised with cats). It was true! She loved the dogs. She was the companion of one of my dogs that had survived neurosurgery for a broken neck when she was a puppy, so she could not roughhouse with the other dogs...but she and Rosa (cat) were best friends for their 13 yrs together. I have three food motivated cats and one that isn’t food motivated AT ALL. I have to literally feed him soft cat food off my finger to show him it’s yummy or he’ll just ignore it while the others are MAD for it. He just wants his pellets and will eat a little bit here and there

Aw, poor Cersei. Some cats are just 1-human cats. I have 1 cat who loves everyone and another cat who acts like every human who isn't me is an intruder. She sounds like a calico I had years ago who was super sensitive to everything, and would get over-stimulated easily.
That's my cat!! If you don't live here, she'll hiss at you then goes upstairs. Totally opposite with us she's lovey dovey etc. Never had a cat who wasn't friendly outside the household.. She's very protective..
Love this, I had a Tom with a similar nature to Cersei was my baby and would ride around on my shoulders and follow me everywhere so I bought a leash for safety reasons and he loved it trotting along by my side until he saw someone then he'd throw himself to the ground and procede to choke to death. The cats with stubby legs are called muchkins and they're actually a dwarf breed. As cute as they are, they tend to have a lot of health problems and suffer due to their condition, sadly. =/ Jamie and Cersei are both cuties!
Are they microchipped? if the feeding is a problem, feeders that only open for the connected microchip exist (or collar with a special token). I have one and it helps a lot. Plus I got an automated timed feeder for the food obsessed one. She gets food 4 times a day at set times. I can actually leave for a day!

Wonderful kitty update. I've always had cats in my life. Some adopted, some strays who stayed. Keiko was a favorite. A huge 26 lbs cat and long. Long whiskers. He was so social. Loved people, loved workers when they came by. We tried him and Shamu on leashes. Keiko was fine with it, so Sam took him to work a few times. He would just hang in the office and have people visit him. Our little Princess Grace was the best mouser ever. My current love is Abbey.
Once had a Siamese who owned me. Cocoa chose me and I was hers for many years. Also had a roomie with a kitten that made its home my bedroom. Cats love me. :)
WOO! A cat video! I'm a vet tech and have found over the years that orange/cream/blonde colored female cats can be spicy. My tortoiseshell Adelaide is my food thief. She once ate the corner of a loaf of bread through the packaging. She snagged an entire breaded chicken cutlet right off the plate and disappeared into the house with it. Tried to eat a bag of raw rice. Stole my last tater tot. Her crowning moment was when she'd stolen the very last slice of turkey from our Thanksgiving leftovers from my husband's plate. Though one of our boy cats once stole a tomato sauce covered meatball and ran through the whole house with it.
I am glad to have finally gotten the deep lore about the kitties. I had been puzzled about why one cat had was named after a greek myth but the other wasn't, and now I know how wrong I have been.

Really delightful episode! Made me think of my little Khiebah who, while still very much a small kitten, dragged a whole ham off the kitchen counter and was caught in the foyer en route down the hall to stash it under my bed. Also made me remember trying to dress up my dogs when they were puppies and wanted None Of It At All.
I've never had a polydactyl cat, but my old cat was really prone to ingrown claws. I think mostly because she was old and probably had some kind of arthritis that made scratching anything painful. It was nice for my furniture, but it meant she wasn't getting the dead layers off and they just kept getting longer and thicker. I eventually needed to use small tin-snips to trim them, because all the big claw trimmers (like for dogs) needed to be able to get around the whole claw to snip them, but she still had tiny kitty paws and the claws were too close to her skin to get around them. I miss her, she was a hot mess of health problems even when I got her, but she was such a cuddle bug. I have two new young kitties now though and they are very keen on scritches and pets even if they're not "sleep on my lap for hours" cuddly like my old one was.

Love seeing your cats and hearing you guys talk about them; and it stirred up fond memories of the cats I used to have. I no longer can have any due to developing a severe allergy, but over several decades of my adult life I had many cats, all but one were rescues.
As a cat fanatic and lifelong "Cat Lady" I am *ALWAYS* interested in seeing cats. I LOVE IT! More cat content, I say! Also...I have 2 Ragdoll kitties who I harness trained and they know multiple commands (like Come, Sit, Down etc). I can confirm it is possible to train cats and create positive associations with clothes/leashes, especially if they are food motivated. Jaime is sooo into food, it would be easy to use food as a reward and teach him to wear a harness and/outfits, if you really wanted to. I'm sure we'd all love to see it!

Jose, you guys talking about how big the food that Jamie can carry reminded me of my sister's ferret. My nephew back then wore a size 13, so a BIG shoe-larger than the ferret itself. The ferret would steal his shoe and then drag it into the bedroom. His aim was to get it into the drawer that it liked. The socks made it no problem. The shoe, of course, couldn't go under the bureau. Any time someone was missing items of clothing that was the FIRST place to look.
I was an absolute cat person before I developed a rather strong allergy to cats in my mid-twenties. It's still a constant struggle to not bury my face in their fur!
My daughter had a little black cat, Bella - the smallest of our cats - and we lived next to wetlands. One day Bella came home with two red belly black snakes in her mouth (we live in Australia) - one alive, one dead, each over 1m long. She was so proud of herself but we were all freaking (my kids were 7 and 3 at the time, and in the yard when she dumped them at our feet). My father-in-law grabbed a spade and killed the live one. The cats became indoor cats a little while later.
Way back before I knew better, I left a frozen chicken on the counter to thaw. I heard a crash! and from the far end of the hallway, I could see our orange tiger, Maxwell Smart, on the kitchen floor DESPERATELY trying to drag that frozen chicken away while I ran towards him. I miss that boy.

Captain Nemo and Opal go for walks on leashes and harnesses all the time. Highly recommend the Gooby harness as it's hard to wriggle out of. We started with exploring just outside the house, and now they're happy hikers and will walk trails with me. We do have a backpack that they can take turns in when they get tired.
Your kitties are absolutely adorable! Our puffs get puffpressed and eat their feelings when we go away for any length of time so I understand crazy kitty feeding issues, and how "this is the real reason he left Disney" 😂.
You two should check with the vet about Jamie's appetite! I saw someone else mention it but a microchip feeder for Cersie would be good. They have a space for the food dish and have a door that only opens when an animal with a registered chip tried to enter. That way she could go back to free feeding which is healthier. A timed feeder for Jamie giving him like 10 kibble every half hour could help him learn to control his appetite... maybe if there isn't something metabolic going on.

Have a tuxedo cat 8 yrs friendly but not cuddly then got a ginger COVID rescue when shelter was having to close down. Named him Wilson. Total game changer. A year later still friend/enemies.

Her mom was a wild kitty who gradually became my cat and Mimi & her three litter mates followed her into the house one day when they were tiny kittens, then momma had four more while I was waiting for her spay appointment.🤷 I kept them. The cat you are thinking of is called a Munchkin and as the name implies, they are dwarf cats. If you decide you want a dog, get a corgi. They are dwarf dogs and have great personalities. There are 2 versions, one without tails and one with. Both are cute and friendly. I have mister picky eater in Earl Grey. This cat must sniff everything I'm eating, then I get The Look "WTF are you eating?" He eats ONLY cat food and very few flavors of cat food. And he nibbles through the night, and eats very little food in the day time. But we love him. He's a spoiled only cat.

Finally, the long awaited episode of "Catsup...!" Haven't even looked at the other comments, but I'm guessing/ hoping I'm not the only one sharing my own cat story. I had a cat, Guido, who ate upstairs. The kitchen was downstairs. Came home one time to a shredded Ziploc of thawing raw chicken (when people used to leave it on the counter to thaw ) that he had dragged upstairs. Even funnier to imagine were the two trips to the top of the fridge and then upstairs that he made with two new bags of bread. (Took a few bites of each.)
So what we've learned is that Cersei needs a microchip feeder and Jaime needs a timed feeder.

Cersei sounds like my grandparent's Russian Blue, named "blue", who was an indoor/outdoor barn cat. He ruled the house, outlived 3 poodles and took on raccoons and won. He wasn't affectionate, but he tolerated us grandkids... Although he wasn't above smacking around the dogs if they invaded his space.
De-clawing is banned in most countries. It is mutilation and cruel. Glad you haven't done it to your pets! X

Our 18-year-old cat Fender was a super cranky old lady. She only liked getting pets from my wife and even then, her cuddling only started over the last few years. She never really took to me -- LOL!
She also was the type to eat like Cersei, just little nibbles at a time here and there, so we always left food out for her all the time. Unfortunately, we briefly had a housemate that had to stay with us in an emergency and brought her two cats with her and one of her cats would steal all the food, so we had to feed them separately until she moved out.
After the food-stealing cat was gone, Fender thankfully went back to just picking at her food like she used to. And that was great, til she got ill over the last few months and we had to switch from her dry food to some Rx soft food. And since we couldn't leave the soft food out for more than 4 hours, there was a lot of changing out her food all the time and trying to figure out how much to put in her bowl without wasting too much expensive food (usually 1/4 can worked).
She unfortunately just passed away a few days ago on Tuesday and we're still re-adjusting to not having to rush to feed her every four hours, but your talking about feeding Jaime multiple times a day totally reminded me of that. Such high maintenance babies! (LOL, we still love them for it though!)
Anyway, thanks for the happy cat video. It really soothed some of the ache of the loss of our own fur-baby.

I was never a cat person until we had to take in my husband’s uncle’s cat Annie. He passed away and no one in the family wanted her. She was just like your Cersei, but I fell in love. She sadly passed away in 2015, and now we have Leo, the cat in my profile picture. Cats are just the best!

We adopted two sibling kitties during lockdown. One is a 16 lb "husky" kitty who wakes us up at 5:30 am to eat every day. He gives little bites on our feet if we don't get up. 🤣 he also needs his 3 square meals a day like clockwork. Cats are ao funny. I love their personalities.

Pandemic Kittens unite! I adopted two brothers (littermates) last August: Apollo and Angus. They have been an absolute joy to have. Even my grumpy old cat Melvin has come around to the kitten love. The whole Cat Family has made pandemic life/working from home bearable.
I got two brothers in March 2020 {Sugar & Spice} and they also have an old man brother who has finally acquiesced to their presence
A year ago I had 2 kitties but one,Margarita, dissapeared when I moved back to my house, there were two cats who still lived there, but both of them would leave for weeks at a time, so I couldn't count on them. So my cousin needed to rehome Margarita's grandsons, Kawasaki and Yamaha made last summer tolerable. Even though Harley did not approve. Then Margarita's brother decided to come stay with us. Then I got a chance to help get my friend the Munchkin he'd been promised and Cricket has a brother, Suzuki, blessedly those four young boys all love each other. And between agreeing to have six cats instead of 4, my Ninja came home and brought a companion, a feral cat i named Intruder, luckily hes not a Trudy. I know im a crazy cat lady, because i almost asked to stop and look at free kittens the other day. But my need for babies in the house is fully met by the gerbils and the rats.
Bless the kitties! We had the exact same dynamic, older grouchy girl, younger boisterous boy, he will eat anything... our feline hierarchy was fixed by getting a third kitten! The boy was annoying the older girl because he was lonely and wanted to play, so getting him a little sister made all the difference. The old girl was always grouchy, but she got her own space, and the boy and the baby are still best friends!
My hungry boy doesn't get double-fed because we weigh out his kibble (half a portion of nothing, according to him!) and when he is desperately hungry, he gets a little of his daily portion. Frequent small meals are better for his delicate digestion, but he does now expect food any time he asks!
Y’all should invest in automatic cat feeders, truly the best thing! You can set it to feed multiple times a day, the cats won’t wake you up at ungodly hours, and you can leave them for a few days and they still get fed. That plus the litter robot and a pet fountain has been the trifecta of cat care.

I’m sure you know, however, that dear Jaimie wouldn’t be so awesome if you had not had him fixed. You’d be dealing with a cat with a different personality who would be marking his territory all over your house. So, don’t wish that you hadn’t had him fixed. Be grateful! I lost my old cat in July and really want another. I got her from the shelter because she liked dogs, but did not like other cats. I had 7 Siberian huskies at the time. (all were raised with cats). It was true! She loved the dogs. She was the companion of one of my dogs that had survived neurosurgery for a broken neck when she was a puppy, so she could not roughhouse with the other dogs...but she and Rosa (cat) were best friends for their 13 yrs together. Looking forward to more Ketchups and Catsups.

I have three food motivated cats and one that isn’t food motivated AT ALL. I have to literally feed him soft cat food off my finger to show him it’s yummy or he’ll just ignore it while the others are MAD for it. He just wants his pellets and will eat a little bit here and there

Aw, poor Cersei. Some cats are just 1-human cats. I have 1 cat who loves everyone and another cat who acts like every human who isn't me is an intruder. She sounds like a calico I had years ago who was super sensitive to everything, and would get over-stimulated easily.
My calico was like that. I was her human and she hated the rest of the world.
That's my cat!! If you don't live here, she'll hiss at you then goes upstairs. Totally opposite with us she's lovey dovey etc. Never had a cat who wasn't friendly outside the household.. She's very protective..

The cats with stubby legs are called muchkins and they're actually a dwarf breed. As cute as they are, they tend to have a lot of health problems and suffer due to their condition, sadly. =/

Are they microchipped? if the feeding is a problem, feeders that only open for the connected microchip exist (or collar with a special token). I have one and it helps a lot.

Wonderful kitty update. I've always had cats in my life. Some adopted, some strays who stayed. Keiko was a favorite. A huge 26 lbs cat and long. Long whiskers. He was so social. Loved people, loved workers when they came by. We tried him and Shamu on leashes. Keiko was fine with it, so Sam took him to work a few times. He would just hang in the office and have people visit him. Our little Princess Grace was the best mouser ever. My current love is Abbey.

Once had a Siamese who owned me. Cocoa chose me and I was hers for many years. Also had a roomie with a kitten that made its home my bedroom. Cats love me. :)
WOO! A cat video! I'm a vet tech and have found over the years that orange/cream/blonde colored female cats can be spicy. My tortoiseshell Adelaide is my food thief. She once ate the corner of a loaf of bread through the packaging. She snagged an entire breaded chicken cutlet right off the plate and disappeared into the house with it. Tried to eat a bag of raw rice. Stole my last tater tot. Her crowning moment was when she'd stolen the very last slice of turkey from our Thanksgiving leftovers from my husband's plate. Though one of our boy cats once stole a tomato sauce covered meatball and ran through the whole house with it.
I am glad to have finally gotten the deep lore about the kitties. I had been puzzled about why one cat had was named after a greek myth but the other wasn't, and now I know how wrong I have been.
This video has made my whole day! I was sad I missed it the day you posted, but I needed it today! Your love for each other and for your fur babies just brings SO MUCH JOY! Also, I highly recommend timed feeders (we have two kitties who have a similar dynamic, one eats whenever, the other eats everything) and it was a game changer! Made me think of my little Khiebah who, while still very much a small kitten, dragged a whole ham off the kitchen counter and was caught in the foyer en route down the hall to stash it under my bed.
Also made me remember trying to dress up my dogs when they were puppies and wanted None Of It At All.
I've never had a polydactyl cat, but my old cat was really prone to ingrown claws. I think mostly because she was old and probably had some kind of arthritis that made scratching anything painful. It was nice for my furniture, but it meant she wasn't getting the dead layers off and they just kept getting longer and thicker. I eventually needed to use small tin-snips to trim them, because all the big claw trimmers (like for dogs) needed to be able to get around the whole claw to snip them, but she still had tiny kitty paws and the claws were too close to her skin to get around them. I miss her, she was a hot mess of health problems even when I got her, but she was such a cuddle bug. I have two new young kitties now though and they are very keen on scritches and pets even if they're not "sleep on my lap for hours" cuddly like my old one was.
I didn't recognise what the blanket Max is sitting on was until I saw the wall hanging in the background of the clip of Jose with Jaime. So much Bayeux Tapestry merch. Love it.

Love seeing your cats and hearing you guys talk about them; and it stirred up fond memories of the cats I used to have. I no longer can have any due to developing a severe allergy, but over several decades of my adult life I had many cats, all but one were rescues.

Also...I have 2 Ragdoll kitties who I harness trained and they know multiple commands (like Come, Sit, Down etc). I can confirm it is possible to train cats and create positive associations with clothes/leashes, especially if they are food motivated. Jaime is sooo into food, it would be easy to use food as a reward and teach him to wear a harness and/outfits, if you really wanted to. I'm sure we'd all love to see it!

Jose, you guys talking about how big the food that Jamie can carry reminded me of my sister's ferret. My nephew back then wore a size 13, so a BIG shoe-larger than the ferret itself. The ferret would steal his shoe and then drag it into the bedroom. His aim was to get it into the drawer that it liked. The socks made it no problem. The shoe, of course, couldn't go under the bureau. Any time someone was missing items of clothing that was the FIRST place to look.

My daughter had a little black cat, Bella - the smallest of our cats - and we lived next to wetlands. One day Bella came home with two red belly black snakes in her mouth (we live in Australia) - one alive, one dead, each over 1m long. She was so proud of herself but we were all freaking (my kids were 7 and 3 at the time, and in the yard when she dumped them at our feet). My father-in-law grabbed a spade and killed the live one. The cats became indoor cats a little while later.
Way back before I knew better, I left a frozen chicken on the counter to thaw. I heard a crash! and from the far end of the hallway, I could see our orange tiger, Maxwell Smart, on the kitchen floor DESPERATELY trying to drag that frozen chicken away while I ran towards him. I miss that boy.

Captain Nemo and Opal go for walks on leashes and harnesses all the time. Highly recommend the Gooby harness as it's hard to wriggle out of. We started with exploring just outside the house, and now they're happy hikers and will walk trails with me. We do have a backpack that they can take turns in when they get tired.
Your kitties are absolutely adorable! Our puffs get puffpressed and eat their feelings when we go away for any length of time so I understand crazy kitty feeding issues, and how "this is the real reason he left Disney" 😂.
You two should check with the vet about Jamie's appetite!
I saw someone else mention it but a microchip feeder for Cersie would be good. They have a space for the food dish and have a door that only opens when an animal with a registered chip tried to enter. That way she could go back to free feeding which is healthier. A timed feeder for Jamie giving him like 10 kibble every half hour could help him learn to control his appetite... maybe if there isn't something metabolic going on.

The cat you are thinking of is called a Munchkin and as the name implies, they are dwarf cats. If you decide you want a dog, get a corgi. They are dwarf dogs and have great personalities. There are 2 versions, one without tails and one with. Both are cute and friendly.
I have mister picky eater in Earl Grey. This cat must sniff everything I'm eating, then I get The Look "WTF are you eating?" He eats ONLY cat food and very few flavors of cat food. And he nibbles through the night, and eats very little food in the day time. But we love him. He's a spoiled only cat.

Haven't even looked at the other comments, but I'm guessing/ hoping I'm not the only one sharing my own cat story.
I had a cat, Guido, who ate upstairs. The kitchen was downstairs.
Came home one time to a shredded Ziploc of thawing raw chicken (when people used to leave it on the counter to thaw ) that he had dragged upstairs.
Even funnier to imagine were the two trips to the top of the fridge and then upstairs that he made with two new bags of bread. (Took a few bites of each.)
