Even as an experienced engineer and well versed setup guy, this model makes you think and see changes in a different way. Bravo! We need to see more of the Arnout brain process! 😂
30 minutes of pure info. Seriously man, top notch content right here Awesome setups as well, 2 seconds improvement on SPA just from getting your base setups, this will help me out in improving on your awesome baseline.❤
I love your content. Every time I watch your videos make me want to get on sim. But instead of working on the setup work and starting racing. Lmao Now I have to back the video up cause I missed a lot. Holy crap....😅😅😅😅😅
I love that the game has setup that you can tweak to your liking, but at the same time, I don´t have time to make good setups. I wish games would have some leagues and lobbies with fixed setups. I love the Assetto Corsa setup exhange. I download a few of the most popular setups, test what is best for my driving style and then just minor tweaks, but the base setup is there. For ACC its more difficult. I love how AMS2 the game itself allows you to download other peoples setups.
You can look at this 2 ways. The first one is that it's convenient to get every set up simply like a leaderboard or copy it somewhere. But on the other hand in real racing you dont know how the setup is on the competitive other team? Which is a problem I like solving in a sim and is also very rewarding. I like lmu for this you start out with fixed setups
This is fantastic, I'd like to see the relationship between mechanical grip + aerodynamics with dynamic rake in high speed manoeuvres. Excellent video. Just subscribed.
Great video, I was always searching for a video where I could find which changes you have to combine for a good set up in ACC, looking foward to your next video. Keep up the good work Arnout🤙👊
Very nice info ... I have always been interested in the setup topic, but always overwhelmed, in the way you mentioned. I understand the basics but need more clarity. Thank you for lifting some of the fogginess with this video
14:00 the way you just explain the bump stop ranges I've heard it a thousand times different ways but when you just said it it literally clicked in my head but now I'm left with the question does your ride height directly affect the travel capability of the suspension
On acc what helps me is I have the driver's head still moving mostly while braking and accelerating 15% left and right head movement so you almost have to turn the wheel turns his head but it helps me visualize the g-forces like if my ass and starts sliding out but I didn't see any forward g-forces to lift the rear
@SimracingArnout nope I zone out and it helps me look at the apex ... did all the measurements for my FOV ... its supposed to 48° I think I backed if off a hair to see the full display... very car dependent some dashs are too high or to big
A bit off topic..do you use headphones while racing in VR? I have Quest 3...sound of the car is very important for immersion. Not sure if I can rely on the headset sound for this.
@@SimracingArnout There's just spring rate. Which would change the stiffness of the spring, but not the travel. It just feels like RaceRoom is missing this level of setup.
@@RandyMagruder , okay, and is this maybe car-dependent? Then stiff springs most likely give you a short travel when you pick very low ride heights maybe

@@SimracingArnout can I just say thank you for taking time out of your day to do all this

Top class pertinent information for a mid-level ACC driver. Bravo. We want more!
Check this playlist there is a mechanical grip video as well
@SimracingArnout much appreciated.

Great video. Probably shaved 1 second of my lap times around kyalami in my league race last night.
I was keeping up with the faster guys to a point
That must have felt great! Thank you for going back to the video and letting me know🫡
@@SimracingArnoutfelt great. Tuned out majority of the understeer I would always have.
Do you have a wet setup guide?
No i dont. But lets put that in content ideas thank you
@@SimracingArnout your welcome. Looking forward to see what you come up with.
Weird, but I love wet races

Thanks man, I hope it helps
Test them out some cars need different things and other racers want different behavior in the car, this way I hope you can find your balance
Great job mate.
Going to have a play around with the KTM and see if all that info made it into my head 😊
Noice, I hope it makes clear what you need to change and when
thanks man, i knew what i want from the car, now i know how to get it, this is epic
Good stuff more coming

Very great vid arnout🎉
Thank you Mr thunder
Nice video, and understandable
Where can I find that nice understeer / oversteer hud addon you have there in order to see more clearly whats happening? Great vid!
Race Element overlays (wheelslip)
Question Arnout. When you increase the bumpstop ranges, the travel extension of the suspension is added downwards or upwards?
I would say upwards which could mean the car is higher with more ride height
@SimracingArnout ok..
On acc what helps me is I have the driver's head still moving mostly while braking and accelerating 15% left and right head movement so you almost have to turn the wheel turns his head but it helps me visualize the g-forces like if my ass and starts sliding out but I didn't see any forward g-forces to lift the rear

@@glutvonsmark no problem, i pick my own headphones. I never like the sound or noise from the original speakers from the headset
hey Arnout where did you get the overlay while driving, it looks awesome!
Thank you, the are a mix from race element, armamentario and racelab apps pro
