When was the last time you've heard the Presidential march? President Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy were so dignified and classy.

Flowers were never played at the funeral . The Black Watch played in the procession from the National Cathedral to the gates of Arlington cemetery . The US has no slow march for funerals so the Watch played tunes to keep up the pace with the procession .

Joe Kennedy (Snr) was a business associate and friend of Sir James Calder the distiller who had a Perthshire estate - JFK visited it before WW2 and learned to shoot grouse there.

The slow march at the very end is "Flowers of the Forest" which I recalled hearing at the time. "Amazing Grace" was unknown on pipes before 1971. I contacted the Black Watch for more information on their JFK material but was told they never played "Flowers" only some quick marches including "Brown Haired Maiden" during the Monday parade. The Air Force pipes played "Mist-Covered Mountains" at graveside. Does anyone know who or when "Flowers" was played? It must've been one of these 2 pipe bands.

9 days later, Oswald killed him.....without impunity. Since he was himself murdered 2 days after that.

You are so correct Chiku, Oswald killed John Kennedy & he did it alone.

@@KeithWilliamMacHendry and then Jack Ruby killed Oswald. I guess Jack knowing he himself didn't have long to live. I think he had a terminal cancer, he was the perfect candidate to do the job and may have made a nicely sum of money to help provide for his family after he was gone. Plus tie up any lose ends Oswald could have shed light on. You and I will never know.

@@kcglide I beg to differ, Ruby's killing was pure opportunism & all the evidence if you bother to look into it shows that is all it was. The rest is wishful thinking & pure fantasy. He had no direct family of his own to the best of my knowledge in Dallas, that is offspring, the bulk of his relatives were in Chicago & never received money from any pay off as none was given to him due to him being the soul person involved in killing Oswald.

@@kcglide I beg to differ, Oswald did the deed & did it alone. the factual evidence is overwhelming. Ruby himself stated that it was pure chance & opportunity, Oswald should never have been paraded just to accommodate the press due to Oswald rightly receiving a punch in his pus (Scottish word for face) in the picture house during his arrest. Nae conspiracy ever existed, except in the mindset of the deluded wishful thinkers.

Many officers in Highland (and Lowland) regiments have dubious Scottish connections - their accents are from the "deep south of Scotland" - around Surrey and Berkshire etc.
