I just heard about this game searched it up on yt and started watching this video, at the end i was fucking stunned to see that you have 20 subs and this vid 170 views. This was a brilliant video sir
It's honestly a false selling point. The squads are almost entirely useless, sometimes I feel as if I would only play Lone-Fighters if it had a HUD. They're completely useless, standing above the trenches at times... constantly dying to planes, and just being in your way 9/10 times. The "command" mechanic is pretty much useless, it's either "go there, or stay here" and even at that it fails.
Yeah the AI are pretty dumb, mentioned that in the video. What I also mentioned was that their true purpose in the game is to function as a repositioning tool for the player in control - which is the gameplay aspect that sets this game apart, IMO. You’re right though, it would be great if they were smarter. Here’s hoping someone takes this concept to the next level in the future.
I have been playing since CBT and you hit the nail on the head about the game. It’s just constant action and it’s glorious. Battles feel like “battles” and the ability to stay in the fight by switching between members is great.
This is the 3rd video of yours that I watched and Im feeling like your scripts are better written than most books. Discovering your channel trough your HLL video just a few hours ago feels like stumbling upon Raycevick some 5 years before. After being burned by all the recent top tier FPS games, I came to Enlisted (I can only comment for console) and I'm starting to enjoy these games again. It may not be perfect, but it seriously fills the spot left empty by things like Vanguard and 2042. While it needs work as a beta, I can remember when BF was the new kid too. Who know what game will be the top tier game in 5-8 years.

Love this game! Its a bit grindy to get the stuff you want but when you finally get the good guns its fucking amazing. Lets be honest we always complain about lack of progression anyways haha
Just another P2W mechanic. Grind forever or pay up. Nah, give us all the tools upfront. No unlocks, no bullshit. Only skill to determine the outcome. And make it playable offline as well as online with friends on self hosted servers… Oh wait, that sounds like Day of Infamy… an underrated product (not a Game as a Service piece of trash).
I just got Hell Let Loose for the PS5 and I have Enlisted in my library. Which one is better? I've played both but I love the realism in H.L.L. Enlisted is very gorgeous but I love how dark and gritty H.L.L is.
Great review, but I have to disagree with a lot here. The game had me for a few hours until I realised its just another Gaijin game where there are some p2w aspects and really slow and annoying progression. Its not that immersive because when you think about it, seeing a fast moving enemy player with 5 bots behind him walking like plastic bags in the wind just makes me feel like I'm playing a kids war simulation. A lot of it makes me feel like I'm playing war thunder instead of an actual FPS because the movement and building and everything related to a soldier's work is just there and nothing more. I'm not saying the game is not fun, it has its moments and the mode where you play without AI's can be really fun as well. But its more of an arcade shooter, not a mil-sim shooter and I think thats the core mechanic of the game after all. I respect your take on BF1 though, its a gem and the best we've seen Dice creating in a long time.
Hats off to the eloquence of the reviews you make, genuinely very well written and presented, second one i saw before i looked at your subscriber count, and damn, that doesnt seem fair (have one more atleast). As for the idiot AI, part of the fun for me is constantly moving them somewhere relatively safe as I advance, i never have them just follow me, its definitely fun to do a pincer move on an objective with your squad on one side of it and you on the other when you time the attack order right, its amazing what you can do with just the 2 orders.
perhaps one thing that was not mentioned which enlisted offers are different campaigns options. barely any games have shown off the battle for moscow, berlin is also not the most dominant. That is one big thing in enlisted. It shows the battlefields that played a giant role in ww2 and yet those that are forgotten by many shooters.
Just a small tiny nitpick but sometimes enemies are invisible in building like from the outside it is too dark and you can’t see the guy sniping you.A simple fix would increase the brightness in buildings
I enjoyed this review as a fan of the game already. Though I would refer to it as free-Kinda. It's Gayjinn in the end, and over the last year the mechanics they have introduced have made it harder and harder to play as a free player. It's kind of a Free To Play - Pay To Enjoy kind of game. With the insane level of grind combined with the recent elimination of rolling bronze orders for random troops and the 8 current sides to level (4 campaigns, 2 sides on each), they have made it nearly impossible to truly fill out and properly arm every squad in every campaign without spending money. You're essentially stuck focusing all your orders on one campaign at a time to slowly make that one campaign more enjoyable to play. Hopping around between campaigns is fine so long as you don't spread your order-spending around, if you do you're going to have below-mediocre squads that are unfilled and under-armed. At the moment we can at least still roll bronze weapon orders for random weapons but they have already mentioned a plan to remove that mechanic in favor of silver-order-only purchases like they have already done with troops. Hopefully they do not dumbass-mode the game into the ground and figure it out soon, but as it's looking. I have maybe another 2-3 months of this stupidness before I will switch to Hell Let Loose and give that game a try, it looks a hell of a lot harder and requires much more of a time sink with a higher chance of rage-inducing moments due to the massive travel time between spawn and objective (which I believe will make snipers your absolute most hated enemy in the game.) but from my understanding once you buy it and the DLC's thats it, there are no further money-grabbing mechanics which is sadly what is making Enlisted so hard to get people into. Enlisted starts out very Not Fun, and becomes fun as you level and acquire more gear.

i just don't like how the classes are done, like how i can't have a regular pistol until i unlock the slot, but oh wait now i need to actually unlock a pistol which i can't but sniping is super fun. it definitely feels great to be the punisher.
for the time i played Enlisted, there were some fun moments and at times coming out of a match, even if it's a loss by mere seconds i can remember saying "fuck that was a good match" but there's so much more that needs to be done. the game is poorly optimised and some maps need reworking to some degree. i stopped playing after getting the Panther in Berlin (i made a promise despite the rage) because while the game is great and satisfies the WW2 itch same way Verdun/Tannenberg do for WW1, it's a read deal breaker when you just spawn into a tank at the start of a match, drive 2 feet and boom your tanks cooking or you spawn into a wall, having to kill your whole squad which could be useful to seizing the first objective because they're stuck in the wall too or controls become unresponsive and run off ot the other side of the map despite you trying to take control back. Some maps (i'm looking at you Ver-Sur-Mer) just have the attackers be absolutely slated for the whole match, tanks pounding allied tanks as soon as they crest a hill, snipers and MGs at the other hill and the bunker itself being an ass to take, yes it's supposed to be unforgiving but rarely i've seen the mill be taken. unless you've a good team and you're doing your part to get that buddy engineer or flametrooper to the point to help you clear a point, you could be either A: Sitting on a spawn point trying over and over to take a point but just watching your tickers tick down to 0 with no gain bar kills, or get absolutely decimated as the Defenders because they're off trying to get kills. This isn't CoD or Battlefield and i'm glad it isn't Beware also the tokens system. i think as of the Tunisia update, you can't roll Gacha-style for troops anymore, insteads having to wait to obtain silver tokens which they could do more to obtain (idk exchange X amount bronze to Silver would be nice) but i've seen at times you do the daily tasks thing, you're about to get the silver tokens and boom it's gone. it says you got it but nope. you've to wait until the next roll well done TLDR: great idea, good game, Gaijin fix your shit please
The game in its surface is so god damn Generic that it’s almost insulting but once you get to play the game and give it a chance. It’s actually pretty fun, I kind of treated this as a very casual, laidback Hardcore shooter. Like the battles get intense, it feels like you are a part of something bigger than you everytime you play this game. Anytime I have some down time and don’t feel like having too put a lot of effort into using my brain, I always hop into Enlisted and the fact that it’s Free to Play adds to my enjoyment as I honestly wouldn’t wanna pay for this game if it was purchasable but I can enjoy the game for what it is. It dosent blow anything out of the water but it’s definitely enjoyable
That "being a part of something bigger" feeling is key. Rather than being a "competition simulation" where I obsess over stats and fear death, I'm totally immersed in battle - and in that particular character's story. Like..."wow, this guy got shot in the face as soon as he left the boat" or "This guy survived for 20 minutes behind enemy lines and is credited with 47 kills" Battlefield 1 is great with that too.
You do play against other people, but each person has a full squad of bots that they control. It's a mix of both actual players AND bots, kinda like Titanfall. Hope that helps!
When Battlefield 3 came out, it was the entire "Digital Era" bullshit of CD cases with Origin Codes and bland gameplay with meaningless progression... stepping away from that felt like maturing up, and then i found out about "Red Orchestra 2". i didn't know back then, but at that moment i had just stepped onto a land mine of steep skill curves and mercyless gameplay. the moment i tasted my first "Realism Shooter", i knew i wanted more.
Actually the bots are op, sometimes.. Many times I came across a bot, it was laying down and as soon as I aimed on him, he turned back like a bullet and killed me.
there's only ONE other game i know of that had hot swapping and it NEVER came back.... Battlefield 2: modern combat, an old Xbox game (maybe it was on pc too? idr) they used it, it was good, then they fucking dropped it...if they only knew...
Enlisted in a nutshell, play as germany and you wont have fun suffer massivly and outright brick your setup by punching holes into your desk. Play as any other nation thought (there isnt many else lmao) and you'll actually have fun for a few hours befor the game gets repetetive.
The game looks good but you’re really grasping at straws most of the time here. The AI is brain dead. Hell Let Loose makes this game look like COD. Also chill with the cursing dude it isn’t working like you want it to…

Oh I’ve played the other campaigns, but I found that the customization system kinda locks you in to one faction if you actually want to get anything leveled up. One of my main critiques actually, and probably should have been included in my review.

It's true that if you want to reach a high level in any of the campaigns and sides, you have to stick to that particular one. I just found it ironic all of your footage was the normandy campaign despite the opening note of normandy being overused in games. I have the same feeling; I've played normandy in so many other WW2 games before that I had no will to touch it in Enlisted at all if I had Moscow(mained Axis on that one) and now Berlin to play.

This game sucks!!! Graphics are low grade and game finding takes forever. You have task to complete every night, but some are impossible to complete. It is also a very toxic environment. players will cuss you out if you don't play the way they want you to.

The thing that’s great about enlisted is that it’s a good middle ground of arcade and hardcore shooters. Not too simple but not to hard.

Flashpoint 1985 was the peak of squad-based menu for me.

Actually the bots are op, sometimes..
Many times I came across a bot, it was laying down and as soon as I aimed on him, he turned back like a bullet and killed me.
The mechanics are shit. When there is legitimately, a "decrease in shot dispersion" with. "Modified," with stars weapons..

It's not much, but it's there - trees falling, etc... If you look at the map you can definitely tell how long the match has been going on!

Enlisted in a nutshell, play as germany and you wont have fun suffer massivly and outright brick your setup by punching holes into your desk. Play as any other nation thought (there isnt many else lmao) and you'll actually have fun for a few hours befor the game gets repetetive.

Oh I’ve played the other campaigns, but I found that the customization system kinda locks you in to one faction if you actually want to get anything leveled up. One of my main critiques actually, and probably should have been included in my review.

But yeah. It's true that if you want to reach a high level in any of the campaigns and sides, you have to stick to that particular one. I just found it ironic all of your footage was the normandy campaign despite the opening note of normandy being overused in games. I have the same feeling; I've played normandy in so many other WW2 games before that I had no will to touch it in Enlisted at all if I had Moscow(mained Axis on that one) and now Berlin to play.

This game sucks!!! Graphics are low grade and game finding takes forever. You have task to complete every night, but some are impossible to complete. It is also a very toxic environment. players will cuss you out if you don't play the way they want you to.
TLDR dont play the game, grindy as fuck and p2w
