I’ve had the bonvoy business for a little less than a year now and I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve already used all the FNC and i actually really enjoy the 4X in gas. Gas isn’t a huge expense for my household so I don’t mind gaining Marriott points for it. The 35k FNC is well worth the $125 AF for me personally. The cherry on top are the 15 Elite Nights alongside the brilliant it’s the easiest way to maintain titanium status for work and personal travel. I still need 289 nights for lifetime platinum so it’s going to be a mainstay in the portfolio for at least the next 5-6 years.
Wow you're getting incredible value from your marriott setup! Personally i don't travel enough to hit the requirements for titanium status ... i envy folks like yourself who have it.
@@MontyTheCardNerd it’s great until your in hotels 60-80 nights a year. I’ll say 80% of that is at economy properties. So I’m not seeing a ton of upgrades, but it’s nice when we take our family trips and get a suite for a week or better view. You also build a crazy amount of points quickly at titanium status and Hilton diamond with the aspire.
@@ranktank45 haha right i'm sure at some point you'd just rather be at home! But hey if your job necessitates that much travel, might as well get a bunch of points & high tier statuses while you're at it, as you're doing.
No the free nights can't be converted to points. Sometimes the sign up bonus on this card is for points rather than free nights, so worthwhile to wait for such a bonus if you prefer the flexibility of points.
Agree that those aspects are very restrictive. Thus far it's been easy for me to organically use the FNC, but once it becomes too much work as it has for you, I'll likely cancel as well. Thanks for watching!
I enjoy my Hyatt globalist but I’m over 5/24 so the card is out of the question. The 5 fnc for the business card is very tempting though. The gold elite status isn’t very useful and I get it through the platinum card already and wouldn’t stay at Marriott enough to get platinum.
Amex business cards won’t add to your 5/24, so you can still get it without worrying about an additional account showing on your credit report. Given what you wrote above, the sign up bonus and the annual free night would be the most valuable benefits on the card.
That's awesome that you have Hyatt globalist, worth prioritizing Hyatt stays as a result. Though yes the 5 Bonvoy FNCs can still provide great value. Right, I think if you really wanted Bonvoy Platinum status, getting the Bonvoy Brilliant card would be the way to go.
Definitely one of my FAVORITE hotel cards, never leaving my travel wallet!
Absolutely, it has given me net positive organic value for years so won't be canceling unless that changes.
You’re the main reason I got the card. Titanium status has been a nice complement to my travels.
The free night itself makes it a keeper card, the 15 nights are also make it a card I would not cancle.
Absolutely. Titanium status isn't too far off if you can stack the 15 nights on this card with the 25 on the Brilliant.

Can you forgo the free nights and just get the Marriott points instead?

Great sign up bonus! I cancelled mine this year. $125 for a FNC was too much work imo. 35k points max and 1 year expiration is too restricted.

Thanks for clarifying this Vincent! Yes this card won't add to one's 5/24 status.
$125 for 35k night certificate a year itself is a good deal
Agreed, the card's been a keeper for me for this reason!
