I ordered a 112 Egg incubator (can be made into a 56 egg incubator). The assembly instructions were absolutely ridiculous. So I took it step by step to assemble it.

Serpentsyndicate, Thanks for the kind comment. I must say though This incubator has now been converted into a double brooder. I inadvertently stored something on the very top of the incubator while it was running and the heat plate melted the plastic of the upper fan as the additional weight pushed the fan onto it. I took the bottom fan and hooked it up to the upper level so it can push heat to the lower level. It does not keep the temperature where it needs to be for incubation, but is a great brooder now. So be aware - do not put anything on top of this incubator. 😁
Thank you so much for your video. It was extremely helpful, although you were more fortunate than I. My unit did NOT come with the egg turner motor mounted. What a confused mess. Thankfully, I finally figured it out pausing on your set up to see how to mount the motor to the mount, then how to correctly attach the mount bracket to hook up the egg racks. It only took me 4 different tries to get the arm where it would reach to turn the eggs. Once I got that part done, the rest was a breeze thanks to your guidance and directions.
Hi D Ledbetter, Thank you for the comment. This incubator does double duty for me...I hatch the eggs on top, and the bottom has no turner and is turned into the first Brooder ( for about a week). There is always water & food in a bowl in the bottom where I place the chicks after they have dried from hatching. I am currently experimenting with the "No-turn" method and will have a video ready with the results of pros and cons. Hoping for a good hatch rate, but am skeptical.

@@haireyhomestead3820 I’m just now separating my ducks from the chickens because of that issue ! Every time I feel the pool an hour or two later it’s dirty I am like shoot this is not working ! These chickens need clean water to drink ! So I’ll put the little pool in with the ducks and putting a self watering system in the chicken pen. And one in with my goats too . I’ve got two pregnant goats too , it’s going to be a cold winter , hope they do ok ! I’ve got to get some heat rocks for them .

We just swapped the goat and chicken barns around and the goats don't like their new, bigger barn, so they are currently sleeping outside under a small lean to. Hoping they will eventually go inside when it gets colder. They go in the new barn for milking and feeding, but don't want to use their "bed". SO weird, it is more space than they had before, deep bedding and even an extra room in the back of the barn where it would be toasty warm. We did this so the goats now also have access to more acreage of pasture. You know a compost heap gives of aa lot of heat...You can have a compost heap and cover it. The internal heat can reach up to 140F. I am trying to rig something up with a covered heap and piping through to the barns with a small fan extracting heat from the pipes...Got plans, but no time LOL
I am currently hatching Sebastopol Geese, Emu, Rouen Duck, Polish & Silkie chickens.So each one has a different humidity level - even a different incubation temperature. I rarely have a white egg, they are all brown to certain degrees, so I have never hatched then separated by hue of color. I use a towel inside the incubator to keep the humidity balanced. I mostly try to dry hatch as much as possible but that does not work with every bird or incubator. I am setting up streaming these hatchings live on Twitch in about 2 weeks (www.twitch.tv/ufopilot_emu)
Thank you for the great information - however, this incubator has seen it's days and I would never purchase it again - after all these years, I have of course accumulated 10 incubators and including a cabinet incubator - out of all the incubators I have - this one is the worst. It's only use now is one level as a brooder, as it was never really great at holding a temperature for me. The turners bottom out when I put larger eggs in them, which stops the eggs from turning - I now will only ever use turning bars, and never swinging baskets.

Hi Robin, I believe mine is the red-green "yin/yang button - hold for 3 seconds - if that fails, a power off and then back on may also do the trick - I usually write the hatching and lockdown dates on the eggs - because I use the big incubator continuously, so it will run almost throughout the spring and summer (except for a good cleaning once a month- where I transfer any hatching eggs to other empty incubators)
@@BRATTICUS68 When I first got it, the incubator was pretty good - over time however the top motor burned out, so I switched them and use the bottom as a brooder for freshly hatched chicks. The unit is great for the summer, however it needs to be either indoors or heavily insulated to keep the temperature up. I still use it but only in the summer - as I hatch in the barn - I just tried to get it going last week, and after 2 days, it still had not reached the temperature needed - But the hatch rate was good - out of all the fertilized ones (there were about 70 fertile) I'd say 50 - 55 hatched - others were not fully developed, some were, and pipped but did not hatch - not sure if I can attribute this to the incubator, method, genes (DNA) or any sickness.
@cari-lynn8322, I have hatched turkey in this one - as with peacock, I would space them apart, as the weight will bow the holders, that will bottom out and not be able to turn. on the safe side a ratio of 1:3, so for every 3 chicken eggs, I'd put one turkey egg in this one. I must say that I no longer use this as an incubator, but as a lockdown (top level) and brooder (bottom level). I burnt out one of the fan/heaters - melted the plastic, so had to remove the top fan and switch them around - so only the top fan works, but good enough for a lockdown and the bottom layer is warm enough to put the hatched chicks for a couple of days. I'll let you know, that I have found a MUCH BETTER incubator - this one can handle any weight of eggs ( I hatch emu eggs in this one) and I love that the eggs are in their natural position and are "rolled", just like the hen would do - This one I ordered from Walmart - here is the link: www.walmart.com/orders/200010828466456
Hi Jaswanth Reddy, The incubator comes with a power supply, which is used to plug into an outlet. The one I have is Power Source Type: Corded Electric. I am unaware of these coming with batteries.
Hi Judy, Without seeing the unit in person I can only make suggestions : Ensure that the the incubator end plug of the electric cord is all the way inserted into the incubator to make contact with the prongs. Be sure to connect the wires as intended so electricity can flow properly to all sections of the components. If you are tech savvy, take the panel off and see if any wires are disconnected, or any solders are incorrect. If you find that there is nothing you can do to correct this without professional help, I would return the unit to the merchant you purchased it from. I am sorry that you are having trouble with this unit - I must say that after all these years, I have only one section working and the temperature will not go above 88F - therefor I can only use it as a brooder and no longer an incubator - I do have a similar unit I purchased (www.walmart.com/ip/RITE-FARM-PRODUCTS-PRO-MASTER-SERIES-120-CHICKEN-EGG-INCUBATOR-HATCHER-TURNER/291832502) - as I am posting this, it is out of stock. but this unit has been running since October last year and is good enough to hatch emu eggs (for which I only use one level for. but the rite-farm products are much more reliable than the one in the video - it holds the heat, automatic turner bars, and easy to clean. My incubator is persistently giving alarm. When I put it on the humidity starts raising up to 60% then it starts descending accompanied with alarm sound down to 30% . It keeps on up to when I decide to turn it off. Can you help on how to resolve the problem?
set the humidity to zero . Because it does not control the humidity, but only let's you set up when you want the alarm to go off on the high and low you specify. I set mine to zero and use a humidity gage inside the incubator. I bought some tiny ones on amazon.but be sure to check them against a known good humidity gage, and compensate the difference on those. some of mine show between 1%-4% difference to a calibrated unit. not much to really worry about.
@@haireyhomestead3820 I also face the problems with humidity controller, is little different problems from the above, humidity doesn't go down below 60% even though I set humidity to lower at 20% i can't solve the problems. Than return it in very difficult way...
@@mjtimetotry409 the humidity is not controlled on the incubator. It's just a reading. Can you set it to zero. It will still read what the humidity is, it just will not sound an alarm. If you just bought it, then the humidityis set to 60% at shipping. Turn it on and put water into it. Let it run for a few hours until it reaches temp and humidity, then see if you can lower the alarm from 60% to what you require. Again mine us set to zero I just keep an eye on it day and fill a little water to keep it between 15%-30% for dry hatch method
What would be the best temperature for this incubator does anyone know? I put in a separate humidity and temperature guage and it shows it gets to 99.7 farenheit max even at the highest of temperature being 39.5 celcius for this incubator which in farenheit its like 103 its like the incubator struggles with reaching the Temp it needs because its so big
That is the drawback of this incubator - I could really only use it in our home, and covered up - I had to get a "polar" sleeping bag to wrap around the incubator, leaving the vent open (you don't want the airflow to be inhibited). There should be two heating units mounted to each fan - top & bottom level - this incubator does best in the heat of the summer to be honest. But I have hatched many species of birds inside my home during the colder months. Be sure to keep as much of the Styrofoam you have to surround the incubator. @@haireyhomestead3820 yeah thats the only thing that would fix it just covering it up really good but something wierd happened it let me go above 39.5 even tho the previous day it would only let me go to 39.5 max now it let me go super high all i needed to make the right temperature was 40.7 thats what i have it at right now i dont know if that could destroy the incubator but i got warranty on it and its a manufacturer mistake if it does break because it shouldn't have let me go higher
@@pol-ek3yq Just be careful with the higher temperature - for me (my fault) I placed some objects on top of the covered incubator, which ended up (I believe) bowed the top of the incubator just enough so that the fan was too close to the heat plate and ended up melting the fan into the heat plate - stopping it from working. I lost the entire upper level of eggs for that hatch - then decided to switch the fan from the bottom to the top and used both levels - the top as an incubator, the bottom as a brooder - there was enough heat for chicks, just not to incubate - The reason I wanted the eggs on to : they don't poop onto the lower level LOL- I am glad you got it working for you in that respect - looking forward to you updating me on how your hatch goes. @@haireyhomestead3820 oh yeah that's pretty smart not gonna lie , do you do anything when humidity gets super high inside the incubator as the chicks hatch and does it affect the chicks you have in the bottom brooder layer ? Would it kill them if i left the humidity go to like 90? and yeah man i got low hopes but not out the game completely because i saw a couple eggs move on day 17 and i got them on lock down today we will see if those 10 days with low temperature affected them by alot it was like at 99.5 farenheit the whole 10 days but right now its at 101 and 102 in between there because i noticed the bottom layer gets hotter from the top one
@@haireyhomestead3820 yeah sure i can share some pictures of my setup my mom and i are still new to this she had told me that she tried before but it failed she still got the incubator she failed with but its a learning process first chicks i hatched all 7 came out , out of 8 because one was a lava lamp when i candled it (unfertilized).

@@okechukwuotisi also on day 18 is lock down - takeout the turners and lay the eggs on the flat surface for the last 3 days - Try not to open the incubator until all hatching is over - chicks are ok to stay in the incubator for at least 48 hrs after hatching ( probably longer even. I must say that I have had chicks hatch while the eggs were in the turners - so then take them out so they don't get injured.

That depend on how much you paid for it - I got my money's worth out of it - I still use it - just in the summer months or indoors - it has a hard time heating up the large spaces during the cold months - even when heavily insulated.
Well, I did not have anything to hold up my phone I was recording with properly, so my apologies. There are a lot of other videos out there on the same incubator that show a far away angle of the same product, but there is not detail to see the directional of certain characteristics of the incubator.
Bad video you didn’t show the numbers at the end it was all about your insulation that you mad e so sad I watched the whole thing hoping for some numbers but you never showed them so sad!!!
I re-watched the video. at 11:43 I mention that it did get up to 38 degrees before covering it up to insulate it. - however once you open the incubator the temps drop fast again. I also mentioned at 12:36 that I was going to get it back up to temperature - as it did well with the insulation (meaning it reached the temperature it was set for (38) - depending on the eggs you hatch, you may need a lower/higher temperature (The incubator went to 38 degrees and stayed that way after covering it.)
It was when I first got it - But I must say it does not keep the temperature (we hatch in the barn now) When I had it in the house, it did very well. The top motor (fan) burnt out so I put the bottom fan/heater on the top and use the bottom as a brooder now for freshly hatched chicks ( I can only use it in the summer months - in colder weather, it cannot reach the hatching temperature (even with wrapped in Styrofoam and a sleeping bag) I only paid about $80 new, but I got my money's worth out of it - and like I said, it still runs - probably would have not burned out had I not stored items on the top - I believe this was what weighed down the heating unit into the fan and melted some of the plastic on the fan.

Remember the darker the egg the less humidity the eggs actually need. I also have 2 layers of towels to cover my incubator.

at min 4:00, put the turner under the motor first, no hammer, use pliers-gently

@@haireyhomestead3820 I also face the problems with humidity controller, is little different problems from the above, humidity doesn't go down below 60% even though I set humidity to lower at 20% i can't solve the problems. Than return it in very difficult way...
@@mjtimetotry409 the humidity is not controlled on the incubator. It's just a reading. Can you set it to zero. It will still read what the humidity is, it just will not sound an alarm. If you just bought it, then the humidityis set to 60% at shipping. Turn it on and put water into it. Let it run for a few hours until it reaches temp and humidity, then see if you can lower the alarm from 60% to what you require. Again mine us set to zero I just keep an eye on it day and fill a little water to keep it between 15%-30% for dry hatch method

What would be the best temperature for this incubator does anyone know? I put in a separate humidity and temperature guage and it shows it gets to 99.7 farenheit max even at the highest of temperature being 39.5 celcius for this incubator which in farenheit its like 103 its like the incubator struggles with reaching the Temp it needs because its so big
That is the drawback of this incubator - I could really only use it in our home, and covered up - I had to get a "polar" sleeping bag to wrap around the incubator, leaving the vent open (you don't want the airflow to be inhibited). There should be two heating units mounted to each fan - top & bottom level - this incubator does best in the heat of the summer to be honest. But I have hatched many species of birds inside my home during the colder months. Be sure to keep as much of the Styrofoam you have to surround the incubator. @@haireyhomestead3820 yeah thats the only thing that would fix it just covering it up really good but something wierd happened it let me go above 39.5 even tho the previous day it would only let me go to 39.5 max now it let me go super high all i needed to make the right temperature was 40.7 thats what i have it at right now i dont know if that could destroy the incubator but i got warranty on it and its a manufacturer mistake if it does break because it shouldn't have let me go higher
@@pol-ek3yq Just be careful with the higher temperature - for me (my fault) I placed some objects on top of the covered incubator, which ended up (I believe) bowed the top of the incubator just enough so that the fan was too close to the heat plate and ended up melting the fan into the heat plate - stopping it from working. I lost the entire upper level of eggs for that hatch - then decided to switch the fan from the bottom to the top and used both levels - the top as an incubator, the bottom as a brooder - there was enough heat for chicks, just not to incubate - The reason I wanted the eggs on to : they don't poop onto the lower level LOL- I am glad you got it working for you in that respect - looking forward to you updating me on how your hatch goes. @@haireyhomestead3820 oh yeah that's pretty smart not gonna lie , do you do anything when humidity gets super high inside the incubator as the chicks hatch and does it affect the chicks you have in the bottom brooder layer ? Would it kill them if i left the humidity go to like 90? and yeah man i got low hopes but not out the game completely because i saw a couple eggs move on day 17 and i got them on lock down today we will see if those 10 days with low temperature affected them by alot it was like at 99.5 farenheit the whole 10 days but right now its at 101 and 102 in between there because i noticed the bottom layer gets hotter from the top one
@@haireyhomestead3820 yeah sure i can share some pictures of my setup my mom and i are still new to this she had told me that she tried before but it failed she still got the incubator she failed with but its a learning process first chicks i hatched all 7 came out , out of 8 because one was a lava lamp when i candled it (unfertilized).
Hi my Temp screen only show FAN and it keeps blinking ..how do I get it to temperature reading ?
Hi Okechukwu, I have never had my screen read "FAN", not sure what that means Maybe you have a different model? I will check into it and see what I can find out.

@@okechukwuotisi also on day 18 is lock down - takeout the turners and lay the eggs on the flat surface for the last 3 days - Try not to open the incubator until all hatching is over - chicks are ok to stay in the incubator for at least 48 hrs after hatching ( probably longer even. I must say that I have had chicks hatch while the eggs were in the turners - so then take them out so they don't get injured.

So I'm better off returning it....
That depend on how much you paid for it - I got my money's worth out of it - I still use it - just in the summer months or indoors - it has a hard time heating up the large spaces during the cold months - even when heavily insulated.
how about trying to get a long shot of the item while building it instead of getting it so close to so no one con see it at all
Well, I did not have anything to hold up my phone I was recording with properly, so my apologies. There are a lot of other videos out there on the same incubator that show a far away angle of the same product, but there is not detail to see the directional of certain characteristics of the incubator.
If I only would have thought of that back then - Well, live and learn - thanks for the heads up though

Bad video you didn’t show the numbers at the end it was all about your insulation that you mad e so sad I watched the whole thing hoping for some numbers but you never showed them so sad!!!

I re-watched the video. at 11:43 I mention that it did get up to 38 degrees before covering it up to insulate it. - however once you open the incubator the temps drop fast again. I also mentioned at 12:36 that I was going to get it back up to temperature - as it did well with the insulation (meaning it reached the temperature it was set for (38) - depending on the eggs you hatch, you may need a lower/higher temperature (The incubator went to 38 degrees and stayed that way after covering it.)

It was when I first got it - But I must say it does not keep the temperature (we hatch in the barn now) When I had it in the house, it did very well. The top motor (fan) burnt out so I put the bottom fan/heater on the top and use the bottom as a brooder now for freshly hatched chicks ( I can only use it in the summer months - in colder weather, it cannot reach the hatching temperature (even with wrapped in Styrofoam and a sleeping bag) I only paid about $80 new, but I got my money's worth out of it - and like I said, it still runs - probably would have not burned out had I not stored items on the top - I believe this was what weighed down the heating unit into the fan and melted some of the plastic on the fan.
