I served with Taff Williams RIP, in 2 Para and attended his funeral with many others. It seems that his life and the lives of others lost in Afghanistan was now in vain following our embarrassing withdrawal. I recall our then Foreign Secretary stating that the soldiers are being deployed to Afghanistan to build schools and roads and not a shot would be fired. Most politicians have little regard for veterans and their families who end up picking up the pieces of their shattered lives. Sad to say that the next political mis- adventure is only around the corner and the whole process will sadly start all over again.
Simple but profound words : EVERY MAN AN EMPEROR , God bless and keep every lost Para in the Kingdom they truly deserve . UTRINQUE PARATAS

I was a member of 16AAbde and did both opherrick 4 and 8 these guys are men apart i was proud to be airborne and serve alongside the elite men in these units R.I.P. to all the brave men of 16AA BDE and all other units/bde's who've lost their lives on ops "gone but never forgotten "
