If half the nation believes this is possible, they should volunteer and give up all fossil fuels. When the rest of us see how good it is for them, we will want to join them.

Carbon reduction= eliminating human beings and many other evil things. Solar and wind are NOT enough to sustain America. Not even close. One of my brothers used to make wind turbines and he used to tell me about how dangerous they actually are. Some of the stories he told me, I'll never forget. He ended up leaving that job because he felt it was too dangerous and he wasn't being paid enough for the risk. They cause fires, they kill birds and he always used to tell me he didn't understand how anyone could ever think wind turbines were enough to produce long term energy for all of America's needs. Not just the country and its infrastructure but the American people. I mean, I'll support some of the alternatives, but to completely take out what has worked for America for this long is absolutely insane. Do they have some sort of energy source that we dont know about? I've been wondering about that.
These people keep talking about putting caps on certain emissions and other things, then replacing it with something else with promises that it will cost less. How about putting an unchangeable cap on how much money can be spent to make the changes? BTW, when that one guy said that the government would not be paying for these things, he is absolutely right. If I was one of those guys and knew I had to go face Kennedy, I'd call in sick that day. He has more brains, more common sense, than ALL the Democrats in Washington.
I would start with giving every "expert witness" a written set of baseline questions in advance of the hearing that they be able to answer before even showing up for the hearing. For example, "How much will it cost to transition from fossil fuels to green energy by 2050?" It's as simple as that. If they can't give a plain answer to a written question in advance of the hearing, they are not allowed to testify. So, no answer gets the boot. Anyone who claims it isn't their area of expertise is likewise booted. They obviously don't need to be there.
As someone who works in the renewable sector I am always astonished when people forget to mention that wind and solar are not carbon neutral from the jump. They need some time to be so.
Exactly windmills are LOADED with grease and oil. 😂😂they don’t spin without it 😂 not to mention the lands that are cleared and ruined for solar panels and windmills

do you think so? The guy at 8 minutes in says it the best I think, It will cost us our liberty and country, everything has to be in the hands of the state. No privatized oil/gas company wants to even think about it, they will go out of business. So basically a communist kind of taking care of the problem. Im from the Netherlands, a tiny country with 17 million people with almost no impact on the world stage regarding this topic, but also we are constantly been asked about what will it cost. I think capitalism / free market will never solve this problem. Only nuclear energy can reduce oil/gas usage. The guy from Cambridge was right to say, maybe there will be other kinds of energy in the near future , he probably means plasma/ion/cold fusion etc.., but I fear that this will not be invented in the next 20 years on a scale that it would be relevant. So building 100 extra nuclear powerplants would be a good start, but the guy who thinks it would be 200 billion is way off, the guy from Cambridge thought he meant per year :-p
These people make me sick. The one answer, "it will cost us our country ", was the closest to most honest answer of all of them. Our economy, our social stability, our world relations and interests around the globe are so bad thanks to this administration AND EVERYONE IN IT, that the costs of ANYTHING , whether it be supplies, labor, shipping, infrastructure upgrades, importing from foreign or domestic suppliers, along with takingTENS OF THOUSANDS OF ACRES of precious land to build huge sites of solar and wind farms, close enough to supply cities across America, that it will cost AT LEAST 10X their figures, UNLESS our economy and our world standing is restored to what we were BEFORE THESE NATION DESTROYERS GOT IN POWER. The Green deal will need to destroy much needed forests and natural habitats that the ecological distruction will be equal to a fan blowing a sailboat with a windmill on the front powering the fan..,
Honestly I think he was asking that because even he was thinking that that was an insanely low number for 25 years of infrastructure rebuilding. How genius? They have all these dreamy ideas but how do people live in the carbon free world? No actual steps… “work with” means you have no idea!
There isn't many liberals out there who can grow their own food, bank a fire, make their own fabric (& forget about knowing how to sew them!) or even generally know how to survive. Seems like all they want to do is spout nonsense w/o having any solutions that'll even work!
Let's see how this works, you can't use wood because we depleted all our forest for solar farms and wind mills can't use concrete because the process to create it releases to much carbon, can't grow food because we used up all the agricultural land for the solar farms, can't raise cattle because we don't have the land to graze them, can't have cotton clothing nowhere to grow cotton, can't have synthetic clothing because it uses petroleum to manufacture, can't have shoes no leather or synthetics and I could go on for days but they PHDs have got it all figured out just listen to one!!!!
Do you think any of the PHDs have ever thought about any of this?!!!!!!!!!!!
Our "ELECTED" officials are allowed to ask "tough questions" but that's the extent. When do the criminals that we have on the peoples payroll start going to jail??
It will only happen once we vote OUT the criminals that still govern this place. If we don't do that, we are surely doomed.

If half the nation believes this is possible, they should volunteer and give up all fossil fuels. When the rest of us see how good it is for them, we will want to join them.

Carbon reduction= eliminating human beings and many other evil things. Solar and wind are NOT enough to sustain America. Not even close.
