Thank you! That makes way more sense, will be pulling the fuse box when I re-visit this set up. Will be way nicer than a single long wire that runs from the rear bumper all the way forward 👍
I appreciate it! Definitely still in to the polished wheels as well 👍 Working on another video of cleaning them up from all the winter grime, will be out in the near future
YIKES the wiring is SCARY. 1) running thin wire from L/R corner to the radio for Cam power blew my mind. 2) Using those garbage wire tap things for the stereo wire up was just a double tap of blowing my mind. Those things are horrible. They cut wire strands, induce corrosion (the high level of corrosion under the truck indicates definite need for sealed connections) and are not good electrical connections. Sure they're quick and they work....for a while..... but at the least those connections should be butt splices with heat shrink seal. Better to be butt splice with that's then soldered and covered with heat shrink but that is a bit over kill for a stereo.
Totally agree and appreciate the feedback 👍 I switch things up regularly until I am sold on keeping it that way forever. After that point I solder or put weather pack connectors in place
The black pink is very hard to get to on the 2000 trucks....I have found its very easy to get to under the hood ! ...on the side of the fuse block is two relays ...the assembly can unhook off the fuse block and you can flip it over. it has a simple cover to remove... the black pink is right there ...
Ze Hacker I appreciate that, glad you like it! I think the dash kit makes all the difference in making it look as close to factory finished as possible 👍 One thing I found was that the brackets themselves can be tricky to get them to snap in to place. I had to do some "adjustment" with a pair of pliers on a few of the tabs but other than that pretty smooth install
Great install, been wanting to do this on my F350, is there a model that comes with its own navigation that will fit? Don’t want to use iPhone navigation
Thank you FixItNick! When I was researching, the lowest price from Pioneer with built in navi was the AVIC-5201NEX a.co/d/ic6VCGc I was planning on putting at the least this one in the Excursion project, but we all know how that turned out 🙂
Great! Now I guess I’m going to have to have a double DIN and backup camera!! Funny-I park my phone in the same spot lol! Glad your back! Can’t wait for more vids
Jeremy Stewart awesome upgrade for sure! I definitely appreciate that you noticed I was gone, working on new videos now 👍 Some of them I filmed a while back, but just now getting time to edit. Have some new stuff in the works now, working through the 6.0 build plans to get that thing underway. Really excited about this summer and making progress on all the projects!
That's a good point, I had it that way initially but the LEDs light up anytime there is power so they were always on. I think when I update to a better switch setup (probably F650 dash) I will get a better camera that I can trigger those separately
Nice! Will find that one when I rework how this is set for my switches. Looking at the F650 manual dash piece, will have things pretty well apart when I do that one
@@alwaysup2late I misspoke. My old Ford came off the neutral safety switch under the steering column. You need to find the pressure switch that's on the transmission it has two wires that comes off of it. You need to hook up to the side of the switch. that powers up when the transmission is shifted to reverse. For a manual transmission look under the truck on the transmission where the shift linkage is. When it's in reverse you will see a switch that hooks to the linkage. Tap into the side of that switch that powers up when it's in reverse.
Gino Gambino ah yes that makes perfect sense. Something has to have power to tell the reverse lights to turn on, going to the source is probably the best 👍
OKCMoto glad you like it, I appreciate it! Definitely a great update over the factory unit, or in my case the older single din aftermarket one that was in it 👍
I believe the black wire with pink stripe for the camera power is located behind the fuse block. It should be in a wire harness. Pull the fuse block out to access it.
Sweet!!! I was looking for this video the other day thought I missed it. Clean install she looks good. Good idea running wire for the phone. Such a good spot for it. Looking forward to more vids keep them coming!
J&J Productions awesome, glad you like the videos! I definitely appreciate the support 👍 Haven't seen someone do that one yet it's been working pretty well so far
Thanks for making this video and for the equipment recommendations. I just purchased that same head unit and mounting kit to install in my F250 - can’t wait. What speakers are you using?
I have 2 Kicker 10 CVT10 in a box under the rear seat, down-firing towards the floor. Looking in to upgrading door speakers next in the audio department, have a few other projects to tackle first though
congrats on 200 subs !!!!!
That Powerstroke Bloke thank you!! It's been a while, looking forward to getting some new videos out in the near future 🙂
Best 250 stereo upgrade on TH-cam
Thank you!
Wire for reverse light is on the bottom right of the fuse box...pull that fuse box off and look at the wire harness on the bottom right corner
Thank you! That makes way more sense, will be pulling the fuse box when I re-visit this set up. Will be way nicer than a single long wire that runs from the rear bumper all the way forward 👍
alwaysup2late if I remember right it is the black and pink one
@@codylebleu951 Perfect, that is the color of the hot side wire that connects to actual reverse bulb too. That's awesome
For the ‘99-‘01 Super Duty/Excursion there’s no under dash reverse wire. You either have to run from the rear or run under the hood.
This makes perfect sense now why I couldn't find that one before, thank you!
@@alwaysup2late I made that mistake when trying to wire mine…I eventually ended up putting it on a switch.
great install video buddy loved it
Po Boys Diesel thank you!! Happy to have a bit more time to get out these videos, working on a few more for the near future 👍
alwaysup2late. Good deal bro keep em coming bud. Have an awesome day
Thank you so much man! Hope you had an awesome day too 👍
Nice video man! I love the fact you didn’t go with black wheels! I love polished🤤
I appreciate it! Definitely still in to the polished wheels as well 👍 Working on another video of cleaning them up from all the winter grime, will be out in the near future
alwaysup2late sounds cool man!!
I’m definitely doing this to my truck
Awesome! I think it was worth it, adds some new updated looks to the interior

I finally put one in my truck! It’s pretty awesome, I did that grommet Like you did, good idea but a pain in the asphalt to put in lol
That is awesome! Yes, totally a pain but keeps that charger cord from wearing out 👍
Looks awesome thats what im doing this weekend hopefully turns out good lol
Thank you! Took a while to figure out how I wanted this one, how did yours turn out?
Your videos are so awesome
The Whistlin' 6.0 I appreciate the support! Working on making some new ones to come out in the near future 👍

Robert Bartell that is great information! I am definitely going to update that set up now, thank you! 👍
I gotta do this to my 99 F350
Super happy with it so far, really updates the interior look too
Looks good brother! Smooth install!
TheDurbinCompound thank you! Getting back in to the swing of things...slowly but surely 👍
Looks awesome!
S Sweeney I appreciate that! Really happy with the set up so far 👍
Awesome video man
Appreciate that!! 👍 Making some progress
Awesome video thanks for sharing! Now I finally know how to get a 2 din radio and make it look super clean in my 03 f250

Nice job. Tip: I would wire the camera to “key” switched power so you can access the backup camera when the truck isn’t in reverse!
That's a good point, I had it that way initially but the LEDs light up anytime there is power so they were always on. I think when I update to a better switch setup (probably F650 dash) I will get a better camera that I can trigger those separately
What was the brand of the dash kit you used? I'm doing the same install and would like to buy the same kit. Thanks.
Glad to see you back at it bro!! Nice video and Clean install keep up the work!!
Dgaf Produktions thank you! I’m happy with how it turned out for the most part, would love to find that pink/black wire in the dash at some point haha
The wire comes off the steering column.

It may but the easiest way is off the fuse box underneath the dash...reverse wire is located on the bottom right harness plugged into the box
Mint!!
DIESELDANPETERS appreciate it!! 👍

Second love the truck I got a 2002 f250 with less than 10 thousands miles but keep up the good work love to see more
Lank Lizzard that’s awesome to have low miles like that!! I appreciate the support, working on some new videos that will be out in the near future 👍

Radio looks good !!! That 6.0 needs an exhaust bro !! I'm looking forward to seeing these builds !!!
That Powerstroke Bloke I’m so ready for an exhaust on that thing, it’s been quiet for way too long 😀 going to be a fun summer!
alwaysup2late yes !!! I'm hyped !!!
2000 had the 7.3....do you even Powerstroke Bro??
Which dash kit is that
This is the one I ended up using: a.co/c05fEcf
That’s awesome!
In Florida we have letters and number on our license plates but I do like the black out look
Lol to funny good job BROTHER 👍🇺🇸👊250 life
Hooked On Diesel lol I think we're _supposed_ to have something like that here too 😂 appreciate it!! 👍

That Powerstroke Bloke nice job!! Good to hear from you 👋

That Powerstroke Bloke for sure! Feels like it’s been a while 🙂
