This....... is what a Gold Medal performance looks like! I have seen far too many solos on the YAGP and various other competitions, where although there is good technique, it is sadly void of any heart and soul. I was actually smiling at the joy and exuberance she shows throughout this solo. A charming and flawlessly executed example and although only 16, she shows a presentation worthy of a professional soloist. Brava!
Oh this was LOVELY. I very rarely comment on many dancers...the dancing may seem technically amazing (ear high leg extensions, multiple pirouettes, over extended grand jetes....yawnnnn!!), but this had charm, grace and elegance....and yes, a joyfulness in the dance. If I may, she reminds me of Darcy Bussell when she was still at the Royal Ballet School...who also danced 'Sylvia'. Again, Lovely. A pleasure to watch 💫
We agree, she is extremely coordinate and an organic dancer. An incredible pleasure to see her on stage! We are looking forward to see what will be her next step.
In the final, Kathryn Morgan said that Sylvie won in Dallas with music being cut completely off after about 30 seconds. Is that what happened in here around 1:05 where the cam suddenly cut? Or is that something else? Is the music here added only during video editing? I specifically looked for this Dallas video because I was so shocked to learn that she finished without any music. I would love to see that original video and would be just so stunned if this is it, this is how accurately she performed to music without music!
The music is from the Pas de trois in Paquita. The costume appears to be Cupid from Don Quixote Dyrads. I am confused! Can anyone enlighten me? Lovely performance though.
This is gorgeous! who is the original choreographer of this version? Since I understand is a cuban version, I assume that this is not Petipa 's work. Many thanks for responding to this question
Agreed! 👏🏻 Have you seen a video featuring another talented YAGP student Yuna Yamada performing the Talisman video that we posted recently? Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/Yn3FgXuLbl8/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugz0G03k4Cm4qaYn1lB4AaABAg

My understanding is that this is the cupid variation from the Cuban National Ballet's staging of Don Quixote

What Pointe Shoes do you wear? They look beautiful on stage!
An experienced young ballerina.
